We had a great stay at the Sawmill Creek Condos. Everything we experienced was great. We were arriving late and had to call and get our keys in a night drop from the condo management and it was simple. I gave them my credit card before arrival and there were forms for me to fill out and drop into another box - never had to see anyone in the management company - even though they were nice on the phone - made it seem more personal. Condo 301 was great - it definitely was well taken care of and you can tell the people who own it, appreciate the area and want you to have a good time. We fit 5 comfortably in the 2 rooms, and could have fit another 2 or 3 easily if family. Everything you could want was in the condo - the kitchen amenities were awesome!! We had no problems while we were there to deal with. Yes, there is no air conditioning - and being from Texas - that was a scary thought - but we slept with the windows open and it was great - we never missed it with the weather in August! Location is also awesome - an easy walk to the Gondola and then an easy walk to Main Street and Shops and food! Thanks for a great trip!
We loved staying in Breckenridge! There is so much to do and see around this area. We went for a summer vacation. It was so nice to have such a great condo to relax in. All of the staff at Great Western Lodging was exceptional. The people of Breckenridge were so friendly! This condo is in town, so it is an easy walk to the shops and restaurants. My only caveat is that since it is so close to town, you do get town noise. It is not a quiet mountain get away. We did not mind that at all. It really was not that noisy! Our condo was very well appointed - we loved it! #211
Stayed at a condo in this resort back in December of 2016 and it was a fantastic experience. You can ski right down my favorite (beginner) slope right to the hotel. We did this several times when we wanted to come down the slopes, we didn't have to catch a bus to go back we just skied right to the resort down Snowflake run. It was my first time skiing and I will definitely be back, and hopefully will find some room at this resort!
We were upgraded from a hotel to this place last-minute. I was a bit concerned since individually owned condos can vary so much in condition, but we were placed in a wonderful unit (#114). It was in excellent condition, with a wonderful fireplace, a steam shower, a very well equipped kitchen (including coffee filters and spices), and could not be in a better location. Very roomy, although the bed was a bit hard, it had a memory foam mattress that got comfy once you settled down. Short walk to the snow sculptures, gondola, and great restaurants (try Modis!) and my daughter was even able to snowboard from Peak 8 all the way to our doorstep. We left behind a purse and the management company was very responsive in getting it back to us. The only con is that this was a first floor condo. The second night, the unit above us was occupied. At 10P we were subjected to what seemed like an hour of non-stop footsteps and rolling of luggage (how many pieces did they have??!!) across our ceiling. It was very loud and these folks had very heavy footsteps and must pace. They also turned up the music at 130A, but promptly turned it off when I banged on the ceiling with the broom. We called the management company the next day and even though it wasn't their unit, they said they would call the other management company and ask them to contact the guests and let them know there was a noise complaint. Not sure if they actually did it, but things did improve. We still heard lots of footsteps back and forth late at night and early in the morning, but not as loud as before. The floor/ceiling does not have good insulation, so if you can, get a unit higher up (although it may not be as nice as 114 was.) Also, there is a ski locker outside each unit that opens with your room key and included a covered parking garage, great! Two hot tubs on site. The bonus, a little red fox came right up near the office one night and a few of us lucky guests walking back from dinner got to see it before it darted back up the mountain.
Upon our arrival to the condo we immediately contacted the owner to let her know of some of the concerns we noticed right away. We have stayed in the same building before and were very disappointed in her condo. There were several items in the condo that do not work or are broke. The condition of the condo in our opinion is not rentable in its current state, especially at the price she has it for. Here is a list of some of the things that need attention or fixing. * carpet is dirty and stained * carpet is torn and frayed near tile area * bar stools are all broken, missing screws that hold seat on. Every stool. * microwave door is not latching very well and light stays on inside * light over sink has no bulb and is unplugged * light fixture in kitchen only had 2 functioning lights out of 8. We replaced 2 so we could have more light. * kitchen table light had bulbs out also * toaster is broke, only toast on one side * washer and dryer are dirty and super small * kitchen floor was dirty and sticky * no trash bags in trash cans, nor was there any at condo * front door dead bolt seems to be busted were someone attempted to bust in. * all doors are busted up and have lots of damage to them. * several holes in walls where old pictures maybe hung or curtains at one time. * walls and baseboards are damaged in several areas. * only one roll of toilet paper in each bathroom. * dusty vents in bathrooms * only one TV for a 12 person condo * beds are very cheap and less quality than a motel. * damaged furniture throughout condo * not enough seating or storage to be advertised for a 12 person condo I am attaching several photos to show you some of the damage. I also mentioned I did not want her to have someone drop off bulbs. But, as we noticed she had someone do it while we were gone. We had several of our personal items out and not locked up. We were unhappy about that process. They do not offer a small safe of some kind to lock valuables up, this being why we wanted no one to come by. This condo is not rentable in its current condition and needs some attention. I do not know the last time they were actually there but, they may need to visit. Worst condo ever, a complete dump. They now have the nerve to blame us for the trash they rent.
This is our 7th straight year coming to Breckenridge in the autumn to enjoy the fall colors, the hiking, the biking and the fishing. The last five have been booked with Great Western Lodging and the service from them has always been great. The last four years we have stayed at Sawmill Creek Complex, which is conveniently located just a couple of blocks off main st. and has an underground parking lot. We have stayed in a different condo each time and all have been very nice. This year we stayed in condo 109 on the first floor in the back building. This condo appears to have been newly updated and is furnished very nicely. It has two bedrooms with a queen (not a king as listed) in the master along with some kind of trundle bed. The second bedroom has two sets of bunk beds. There is also a wood burning fireplace in the living room. Because of its location at the end of the building, it was also very quiet. There are a few suggestions that would have made our pleasant stay a lot better. First of all, get the 2nd small bed out of the master. It makes the room too crowded. There were no instructions in the unit for anything. It would have been nice to have instructions for things like when the heat controls kick in and how to attach the TV connections. Also, the TV control to change stations was a nightmare to use. The glass door leading to the patio was a struggle to lock and the drapes that covered this door did not seem to fit. One other item is that a flashlight is needed to use the washer and dryer since this hallway is so dark. This last item is common with the other Sawmill units as well. Overall, the unit was very good.
We loved Sawmill Creek #203 when we stayed a few years ago and decided to return. We we delighted that it was still better than before -- new washer/dryer, carpets, etc. The snow was excellent and, of course, the location of the complex is about as good as it gets. I'm still confused the it's called a hotel since it isn't. Just TripAdvisor's error?
Booked Apt #305 through Great Western Lodging. We were travelling with 2 Adults and 3 Kids (5,7,9) for 9 nights. Room was great with two bedrooms, Main contained a queen and separate bath/shower. Second bedroom contained a Captains Bunk and a separate single bed. We found the Queen bed very uncomfortable however. Amenities in the Apt were great with separate lounge, great kitchen with breakfast bench, and separate dining table. The Apt also had a balcony which was great for sitting on when it wasn't too cold. There is also a ski locker for your skis at the entrance to the Apt. The complex has two spa pools, however these were always crowded after the ski fields closed. No surprise there. Our biggest issue with this condo was to do with noise. We were on the 3rd floor and with a floor above us we constantly heard the people above us whether they were simply walking through their Apt or flushing their toilet in the middle of the night. Also the bedrooms are right next to the outside walkway. We unfortunately happened to be there at the end of College Week and got woken up with College kids walking past our room at all times of the night. If it wasn't for the noise issues we would probably stay here again as the Apt is well located at the bottom of the Four O'clock run so you can ski from the top of the Mountain right to the elevator to your Apt. Further the bus stop is right outside to take you to any of the Peaks you want to travel to for the day.
We rented a condo for over $800 per day. The condo was in need of updating and repairs in order to be fully functional. The kitchen oven did not work properly, the sink faucet valve was a mess, no scissors or adequate knives to cut simple food products were present and the controller for the washing machine is completely behind the accordion door. The master bath needs rewiring to separate the vent from the lights. The vent sounds like an airplane engine. Renting this unit at this price point is negligent. Renters before us and the management company had to be aware of the deficiencies. I realize they are individually owned units but, this is ridiculous. Loved Breckenridge and the condo location but we will not return to this condo because of this experience.
After having stayed to ski at sawmill Creek 203, we returned for a summer visit and loved the place as much as before. We saw some reviews of other units at Saul Mill Creek and where Very surprised they weren't all superlative. It is a wonderful place to stay for skiing or summer sports
