After check in we went to the bar to get a drink and something to eat. It took over 10 mins to get served and we never saw the bartender again. 40 mins later as we began to leave she asked if we could check out. When our food arrived, just a snack we were never given any forks or knives to eat with and had to ask for them. We went to the front desk to inform the hotel of our initial experience, he told us that that was the only bar in the hotel and if we wanted we could drive 2 miles down the road to a local bar to drink. I said it was not a good idea to tell guest to travel in an ice storm and then to drink and drive. We asked if we could get a Coke (soda) to drink, we were informed that they do not sell Pepsi or coke products on site. We ordered room service due to the fact that we were afraid to try the dinning room. We left the next morning without trying breakfast. Very disappointed and would never tell anyone to stay at the Stowe Mountain Resort.
Excellent mountain lodge. Beautiful design. Ideal location to ski at Stowe. I wasn’t expecting the whole car and all the skis in my rocket box to be unloaded and stored in my room and ski lockers. Very nice Service. I liked the lodge bar and food service. Didn’t get to try the breakfast due to the ski race but I did a walk through and it looked excellent. Definetly will stay again if we ever come back to Stowe and need housing.
Gorgeous hotel in beautiful Stowe. Our rooms were lovely and our experiences dining at Solstice were fantastic! Will definitely be back!
Beautiful and spacious room. Wonderful amenities and great staff. Unseasonably warm during our Sept stay so we enjoyed the pool and hot tub.
The resort is in a perfect spot. Easy on and off the slopes. The room service is great the restaurant was excellent and the ski valet is the best. They even packed up our car for the way back. Definitely one of the best places on the east coast.
Great hotel, top of the line stay, courteous service
Not a big fan of the food at the hotel and i was disappointed with there "better" dining at Solstice as service was lacking as my water glass was filled once the entire dining experience and the food didnt live up to the hype on some of the reviews i read. I was more excited to eat and order more bread than to eat my main meal. Do not worry because right outside the hotel you have the beanery for great coffee and breakfast and an independent restaurant called the the skinny pancake (which was awesome). The skiing experience was phenominal but as a relatively new skiier i wish there was more than one "green" trail that started at the top of the mountain as killington has plenty more to offer for the new/average skiier. The 1 long green trail which is a road in the spring/summer still provided a sight worth seeing. Vallet and maid service was excellent. Heated pool in the winter was a great plus i just wish there was an easier way into the hot tub without freezing yourself as the pool has a way to enter it from inside the hotel which was an excellent idea! I wanted to take the non skiing wives and kids to to the too of the mountaint toneat at the cliff house but it comes at rediculous price of 28$ per person to use the lift 1 full round trip - i think that should be reduced to a more reasonable cost so more can enjoy the experience and view up top. Best of luck to all!
What a increarable surprise! It felt like we were in a fairy tale! Excellence is there priority! I strongly recommend! We had an unbelievable time! We are planing on making this location our anniversary location!
We were there during early summer so most places at the lodge were closed. Nice quite place and very attentive staff. Good location for enjoying nature
It was a nice hotel.great rooms with fireplaces also the staff is really friendly.
It was a beautiful hotel but I was really disappointed by the service we received. Immediately the valet pointed us in the wrong direction for self parking and that set the tone for service we received. Also be aware self park and valet park are in the same area, so I don't know why you'd even spend the money to valet park! They place a $1700 hold on your card even if you stay only one night, which is ridiculous. Was disappointed even though we came off season we did not get a complimentary upgrade even though the hotel was obviously well under half full--I have had upgrades for free in resorts that are almost completely full and in-season, so I was shocked we did not receive one. Room was beautiful and very very clean, it's a shame staff was not up to par.
My family stayed at Stowe Mountain Lodge for 3 nights over Thanksgiving weekend. It was our first visit to Stowe. Service: Upon arrival, the valet team unloaded our luggage quickly and efficiently, even though there were numerous cars arriving at the same time. Checking in was seamless and the cup of hot apple cider in the lobby was heartwarming after a 6-hour drive from NYC (with two children ages 6 and 7). The ski valet team took great care of our gear and had it waiting for us when we came down to ski each morning. Our requests to housekeeping for extra towels and coffee were brought up to our room within minutes. The service was excellent, everyone greeted us by name, and we felt welcome the entire time we were there. Accommodations: We requested and received a high-floor room facing Mt. Mansfield. The view was amazing. Despite the adjoining door, there was minimal noise at night. The bathroom was beautiful, with a deep soaking tub that was much appreciated after a full day of skiing. The beds were quite comfortable and the linens were good quality. The only negative comment is that the air in the room was very dry that we woke up each morning with sore throats. But, I don't think the resort could have done anything about that. Next time, I will remember to bring a travel humidifier.
The view is very good and the foliage is awesome. We will recommend this hotel to friends.
We went to Stowe to see the fall foliage and we definitely picked the right spot. The hotel was located at the most colorful spot during our entire trip. Our room was clean and very comfortable. The negatives... - wi-fi reception in our room was too weak to use. We had to go to the lobby. - the area behind the hotel was a construction zone. - valet parking is $20/day
We really enjoyed our visit to the lodge. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable It was a luxurious getaway
Our night away at Stowe Mountain Lodge Resort was perfect. The location is absolutely breathtaking, standing in the driveway in front of the resort and looking out at the mountain is just gorgeous - especially this time of year. The gondola ride to the top of the mountain is a MUST - $25 round-trip per adult but totally worth it. The restaurant at the top of the mountain was so fun - the menu could be a little more extensive but the burgers and soup we got was delicious. The staff (especially the valet guys) were amazing and SO knowledgeable. They sent us on Sunday morning to a breakfast place in Jeffersonville (very cool 20 minute drive through winding mountain roads) called 158 Main that was so quaint and the perfect end to our weekend. The Hourglass Bar at the resort has an amazing menu - make sure to make a reservation as the wait time on an off-season Saturday night was 2.5 hours. Downtown Stowe was adorable, we really enjoyed exploring. Overall, amazing weekend - couldn't have been happier!
The Stowe mountain lodge was more than we expected for our 1 night stay in town. From the front desk help to the hotel restaurant all members of the staff were more than friendly and helpful. The lodge consisted of a beautiful pool and 2 hot tubs that were surrounded by the nicest landscape I have encountered for a pool area. My kids would have stayed there all day if they could have and I would have too. The common areas for the guest to enjoy were well decorated and made you feel as though you were out west. Front lobby, little nooks to relax and everywhere in between. Our room was only a studio but was large enough for 4 for 1 day. Clean and well appointed to say the least. If there is any complaint I have it would be not staying longer to enjoy Stowe Vt and the Stowe mountain lodge.
The recreation concierge were very helpful in arranging my guided hiking tours with Greg Speer, Sunrise Mountain Guides. Mr. Peter Mix, Chief Alpine Concierge, had insightful and helpful suggestions for day tours that fit my interests and transportation from and to BTV. Also, Pat, Alpine Concierge, arranged my guided " Taste of Vermont " tour with Tim Tonner, Nantucket Transit Company. The concierge staff were professional, friendly, helpful and insightful. I believe the concierge staff really make Stowe Mountain Lodge standout from other Stowe resorts.
Overall it was excellent. Service was great. Room clean and updated. Nice views and amenities. Cons would be that the pool closes way too early (they kick you out at 9pm sharp, come on I'm on vacation! Why the curfew?) and there is no locker room where you can change with sauna, steam room, etc that you find at most luxury resorts like killinton grand, okemo, etc. Game room is more like a kids arcade and could use stuff like pool table, ping pong... Also you pay 21$ for mandatory valet plus are expected to tip every time you get your car if you want to go into the town. Also a lot of snobby people that make less $ than me @ age 28, but I'm friendly.
The Stowe Mountain Lodge provides a soothing retreat from the hurly-burly of daily life. The setting is resplendent, nestled among maples and the other majestic trees of Vermont. The amenities, such as the gym and the pool, are top flight. It is pricey, nearly $700 for two nights. Some will find that reasonable, given the amenities and the attentiveness of the staff. Others may find it exorbitant.
