After another great stay at the Econo Lodge in Blackwell Oklahoma thought we would try the Econo Lodge in Sioux Falls South Dakota. As winter Texans who travel back and forth from Canada twice a year always looking for good value; comfort and service. This visit was disappointing to say the least and would not recommend. The bathroom sink had a long black hair draped over it before we even used it and the attractive plank floor upon closer look was dirty. The cover on the bed had stains and to top it off only some of the television channels had sound. A very helpful person came to find out what the problem was and couldn't resolve it. Breakfast was also disappointing with a soggy waffle and only a few scrawny apples to choose from for a fruit selection. And the final disappointment was we were told because we were Canadian couldn't accept our Choice membership number so after all that no points. Wouldn't stay here again and could not recommend it.

Well my wife and i needed somewhere to take a break from the storm. Right off the exit was this hotel. The lady checking us in was very poliet. She told us about the current renovations and now my wife wants the same flooring that was in our room! oh well, lol, nice place to relax and will be stopping back again. Thanks!

Everything was fine, except it was so cold in our room when we arrived!! It took till after 2:00am for it to warm up in there. I think it was colder in room than outside. Was not happy, was tired and cold.

I STAYED AT THIS HOTEL A COUPLE DAYS AGO AND IT WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE STAYING HERE - I WOULDN'T EVEN GIVE IT ONE STAR IF IT WAS AN OPTION. -- Upon entering my room, I noticed that the floor had obviously not been vacuumed. There is crumbs and dirt all over the floor. There was even hair on the bathroom floor. There is only one light switch to control the lights in the room - that light burned out within 5 minutes of being here. Now I have to walk through the dark to a lamp to turn on any lights in here. After both of these things, I decided to call and let the front desk know. I tried to use the phone provided in the room - which I then found out also does not work. I had to use my cell phone to look up the phone number of this hotel to call the front desk. I explained the situation to the lady on the phone and she informed me that all the rooms are under renovation, which I can understand, but I do not understand why they cannot vacuum up after the mess or fix the light or the phone? She kept using the renovation as as excuse to all these problems. I asked if I could switch to a cleaner room with a working light and phone but she informed me all rooms will be like this and I should expect the carpet and overall room to be dirty, regardless of which room it is. I never got a new room. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. -- THIS IS THE SAME REVIEW I EMAILED TO THE HOTEL BEFORE WRITING THIS REVIEW AND GOT NO REPLY - NO COPY AND PASTED APOLOGY FROM THE MANAGER AT THIS POINT WILL BE CONSIDERED SINCERE.

The room itself was OK - reasonably clean, although the carpet was stained and there where minor stains and little things. No helpful information in the drawers - things like information on local restaurants, how to access the WiFi (which they advertise they have), when "breakfast" is served - you know, the usual. We were booked for the weekend and stayed three nights. Things went steadily down hill. The Continental breakfast was sparse at best. No healthy options like fruit or yogurt, but there were muffins, toast, cereal and so-so coffee. The first day, they stopped by the room, sort of made the beds and took all the towels. Left none. When we got back that evening, we had to go to the front desk and ask for some. She gave us three and a washcloth. They didn't leave more soap or shampoo or new cups for the coffee maker. The second day they did manage to leave a few threadbare stained towels, and did the same on the rest of the room. We did end up going and asking for some shampoo & soap, the the desk clerk found one small bottle of shampoo and said that was the last one. I will say the evening desk clerk was very nice, polite and friendly. We were not in the room much, which is likely the only plus...

Internet advertising shows bright clean rooms-well kept. The room we got was smelly, dirty, disgusting. Would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Carpet was filthy, bed was worn out. Terrible experience. Management is not on location and is non-responsive.

REALLY DIRTY CARPET - horrible vacuum job, carpeting was really gross with 2 fairly large spots where something obviously had been spilled and then not cleaned. I let the hot water run for a good 10-15 minutes but the water never got above barely luke warm. I complained to front desk and she said was she would report it to maintenance and that she didn't know why that would happen! I was expecting at the very least a sincere apology, some sort of compensation or a call from the manager! I paid for a decent bed which we got but certainly no hot shower! Bed was great and room was quiet. Our son's room had a huge burn hole in it!!!! He couldn't believe how dirty his room was! The breakfast was good enough for me. It was the standard "chain" breakfast though, but without fruit & yogurt. The watered down orange juice was okay, I guess, but the muffins were awesome!!!

I am not sure the bedding was even cleaned?? For sure the sheets were stained, the furniture old and chipped, carpet dirty and breakfast was slim pickings. However, I guess it was okay to just get a little rest and move on, but differently old and not kept up. People working there were nice, did get woke up in middle of night as people discussing payment and CC info out in hallway, strange.

I prefer hotels right off the interstate for easy access. Check in with a brand new, young employee was a pleasant experience. She was new to the job but very accommodating and helpful. Nice room with standard amenities. Standard chain hotel breakfast offering but sufficient for my needs. The price was right and the place suited my needs perfectly.

the air conditioner in the room quit working around 2 am. It was about 96 degrees in the room. Turned it off and then back on, it worked around 1/2 hour more then died again. Did not sleep the rest of the night because of the miserable heat. When I discussed with manager in the morning she acted like I was lying and was very argumentative that their air conditioners were just working fine before, like I tried to break it or something. (!) Food was horrible, dried bread, stale donuts and horrible coffee. they have a tiny pool that was dirty and had all kinds of things floating in it, my kid was afraid to go into it. Would not recommend. Had a bad drive out west due to lack of sleep from this horrible place.
