Beautiful area and the rooms are very nice. I wish we could of stayed longer than 1 night.

Location,Location,Location the bathroom shower needed to be re-caulked (prompting me to give a low score to the cleanliness portion of this review) The refrigerator/stove combo was OLDER than me & the room is very old fashion. It reminded me of a Grandparents cabin. The Sheets were clean, Carpet in Great Condition over all Good. This was on of the CUTEST places! The Staff Could not Have Been sweeter!! Our front door opened to a view of the Beautiful Lake that was fed by a River. My 12 year old & I used the Paddle Boats, Played Basketball & played Uno on the Picnic table in front of the room. Over all great experience.

Cozy easy to find, older clean bed was Goldilocks just right.good price.no glamour

Nice well kept resort. Relaxing atmosphere being right next to the lake. It’s close to everything yet you feel you are out in nature. I would recommend it to anyone. I would have given it a perfect if they had a 24/7 office hours. Office close at 5 P.M.

I reserved a cabin 6 months in advance and when I arrived, I was shown to a sub par motel room (for the same price) which I was not happy about. When I mentioned a complaint to Orbitz, I was directed to the cabin I had reserved. Having been in the 'rental game', I was appalled by the lack of simple repair and maintenance along with cleanliness. I felt I was being taken advantage of due to the lack of room availability during the Rally. On a good note, the people were very nice and friendly.

We arrived late and the key they gave us was for someone else's room. Very awkward moment! So we called for help and it took over 30 minutes of waiting for someone to come and get us the right key.

Arrived just after 9pm, the office was closed and the key in an envelope taped to the door for anyone to take. I was one of two envelopes on the door. The room was clean but a little run down, due to worn carpeting and an uncomfortable mattress. The lake is pretty though!

We had a lake front room with a small kitchen. It is a really neat setting. You can watch the ducks and geese along the lake shore. People out boating and fishing. Peaceful. Right at the edge of town so handy to going out to dinner. Very pleasant, positive staff.

Nice little hotel. Very peaceful. Right on the lake. Plenty of picnic tables and a large area to throw a football.

Sure Canyon Lake Resort is dated, but it has a charm that chain hotels don't. We stayed in the motel section of the resort. It was equipped with a two burner stovetop, refrigerator, sink, microwave and tv. The refrigerator was set too high and froze our drinks. Probably our fault for not checking. We did not have occasion to use the stovetop and adjoining sink. The room looked out on Canyon Lake which was better than a parking lot. There were grills, picnic tables and paddle boats for guest's use. I have only two complaints; there was no room safe, and the wi-fi rarely worked.

Room needed very much an udgrade. Nice and friendly staff, great surroundings and easy to acces. Price was fine.

Pulling into the place, I felt it was very cute and quaint. I called ahead and told front desk staff I'd be coming after 5 so someone stayed there waiting for me to check in, which was very nice. The studio cabin I got was pretty shabby. Not at all what I saw I the pictures on the website. But, it was a room to rest in for the night. I shared a wall with the other studio room in the cabin, which was paper thin and could almost hear the conversation in the room next door. Thank God they were quiet through the night. There was an ominous sign left in the room forbidding "personal items" being left in the bed, thus staff will not make the bed if they are found there, which was kind of gross. But I guess that's the clientele that goes there. For me, it was a cheap place to stay as I was passing through. If I'm in town again, I'll look elsewhere.

The Canyon Lake Resort Motel and Cabins won't disappoint you. The grounds and cabins are clean and well supplied with everything you need to roll up with a family or group and start your cabin on the lake getaway. The staff are friendly and helpful. We stayed two nights while touring the Mt Rushmore area. The 2 bedroom cabin was a nice alternative to two motel rooms and allowed more family time. The beds are comfortable, the linens and towels are nice and the kitchen is well stocked with cutlery and utensils of every sort. We never turned on the TV. The WiFi supported 3 devices without a problem. After 2 days we really wanted to stay another day or 2 to just relax there and enjoy the quaint amenities.

We stayed at the Canyon Lake Resort from 9/1 to 9/2/2016. The motel room was clean, the office staff was friendly and helpful but the housekeeping service was not great because our beds were not made although our bathrooms cleaned and restocked daily. Here is what I didn't like: 1. No temperature room control 2. No ice bucket or ice make available 3. The room was small not quite 450 sq as advertised in Orbitz.

Nice quite area, however our "cabin" had dirty floors, hard beds, the tv didn't work. Overall it needs some major upgrades. For the amount of money it's not worth it. We loved that we had unlimited access to the lake but the pool was a bit "scary". Beautiful setting and quite area.

I am so sorry. According to the information that we received from Orbitz, you booked one of our motel rooms. Without speaking to you directly we had no other information other than what was emailed to us which told us that your reservation was for a standard motel room. I am so glad that we had a cabin available and could move you to the larger unit. Thank you for your understanding.
