Very friendly staff and clean comfortable rooms. Breakfast was also good

The room was very comfortable and the only negative about it is the parking lot. When driving out of the parking lot, which is below the hotel one has to be careful when driving a midsize car or smaller, for the car are kind of low when the incline ends and levels out. The bottom of your car is going to hit, especially if your carrying passengers in the back seat or other heavy stuff in the trunk. Aside from that, place is nice!

close to good restaurants very nice stay very clean

The hotel is well located, convenient yet quiet. I had a problem with my reservation(my error) and Maria at the front desk solved everything, while juggling 2 or 3 other guests. Great service. Breakfast is good, rooms are nice. Only complaint was in the gym, the cardio equipment is pretty run down and some too noisy to use. Minor issue and if you don't use the gym, not a problem. Would definitely stay here again. All employees were friendly and working hard. Breakfast was packed with guests and very busy, the staff was doing a great job keeping up.

We were in the area to visit UCSC, and the Holiday Inn Express offered everything we needed at a reasonable price. Parking was a small upcharge but everything else was exceptional! Would stay again here if the need to visit Santa Cruz arises.

Great front desk. Richard was great help & very friendly.

Very nice hotel with a satisfying breakfast - Internet difficult to access consistently in this hotel (and at most other Holiday Inn hotels I've visited) they really should fix how they allow guests to connect...

@ the top of Beach Blvd, away from the terrible traffic.

Clean comfortable room. Mattress could have been better is my only somewhat negative observation.

We had a wonderful time at this hotel. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. We were only there for a couple nights and it was close to a lot of the things we wanted to do.

Went to Santa Cruz for some work and the opportunity to enjoy the beaches. Staff was very friendly and the room was clean. I little distance from the water, but we brought our bikes to ride, so it was okay.

Very happy overall with our stay. The hotel room was amazing for the overall package price we paid. We stayed 10 nights and enjoyed ourselves didn't spend much time in the room. The wifi was horrible and we were lucky to get a wifi signal in the suite where we were. We talked to the front desk people numerous times but it never truly helped despite all their efforts. Staff receives an A+! The pool was somewhat closed while we were there which was a bummer but the staff opened it for our large family. Breakfast was just ok but, hey, who beats free breakfast? Parking was great and the location, although a drive from the beach and downtown was decent. The streets were a bit creepy to walk in at night in the area its located but overall would recommend for the price! My friend came up to visit and stayed one night too- she enjoyed it as well!

The staff was awesome!!! They were very friendly and accommodating.

This Holiday Inn in Santa Cruz was absolutely ideal. The service was friendly and courteous, the room was very clean and modern, there was plenty of parking available in their underground garage, and it was close to many amenities (restaurants included). I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, and I will definitely be staying here again the next time I'm in Santa Cruz!

Front desk staff was very helpful. I appreciated directions to the school and other recommendations. Perfect location

The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking was limited.

It really doesn't look (and actually cost) as a 3 star Hotel, but it was worth it totally. The staff is great, breakfasts too, the room is larger than in any 4 star hotel I have ever stayed in, and it's really comfortable. Few cons of Holiday Inn is the cost, and most time in the season they're all sold out. But in comparison with the location and the comfort they give, it's not that important. I guess they deserve the fourth star.

Clean, comfortable and close to the attraction we were going to, ie: Redwood Canopy Tour.

I came here with my husband and two small kids, and my parents met us and also got a hotel room. I would definitely go back here and plan to. The hotel is clean and modern and family friendly, with a great heated outdoor pool, nice included breakfast and free parking and wifi. It's located relatively close to some grocery stores. The staff was friendly. Only thing to note was that the crib they brought for my toddler looked like they picked it up at a garage sale. It was fine for one night, but it would have scared me for a younger baby.

The parking is a bit tricky. The ramp is narrow to the underground garage, you experience blind spots on entry and exit... and the sun obstructs your vision and all the parking spaces are designed for small vehicles... If you drive an SUV (I have a 2013 Explorer) it will be difficult to enter and exit your vehicle. The hotel is nice, but due to the poor planning of the parking, I'll stay elsewhere next time.
