Centrally located to most everything, shopping, beach, restaurants etc

close to the beach, this hotel is very outdated. there is a club down stairs that blast music until 3a.m. a 250 dollar security deposit for a 50 dollar hotel room? My stay was more than 50 a night. there is a 15 dollar a day resort fee. this place is no resort.

For the price, all we needed. Just an affordable place to rest our heads. Would definitely stay here again. Also the staff was very friendly and helpful.

This hotel is literally less than a block away from all the hotels that are twice as much.

the room was what I expected nothing special just a room

This hotel was dated but clean and quite comfortable. Close to the beach and lots of shopping and places to eat.

I was a little surprised by the $15/day service fee but the beach towed they provide are very nice so I didn't mind paying after all. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

This is a great place to stay of you have other things to do. The tv is not viewable from bed. Overall setup of room could be better.

No parking's a problem. Website should explain the possibilities up front, instead of when you get there. All the hotels in Waikiki are doing it, but the mandatory 'resort fee' is just a way to extract more $. It was raining for our overnight stay, but we had to pay it anyway. Since the beach equipment isn't in the room, paying for its use shouldn't be insurmountable.

The desk staff is only available from 10 AM to 5 PM, which was a big surprise. Yet the check-in time wasn't until 4PM! They charge you for everything - the nightly "resort" fee, $250 damage deposit, and any special requests. And it was very loud, possibly because it's next to a night club - and the ancient A/C didn't make enough noise to cover that up. The room, while very old and not updated, was spotless, and it was comfy. I didn't have the upper body strength to put the bed back up after pulling it down from the wall, so it was a bit cumbersome to get around. But I felt very comfortable hanging out there. I don't think I'd come back here, though.

the rooms are clean, that is the most important to me. There are 3 or 4 bars/clubs within 2 blocks of hotel one of them is right under the hotel so if you get a room on the 2nd floor above the club i would think it could get noisy. we were in 201 which is opposite end of club and didnt hear noise until the last nite when some drunk girl was yelling out in the courtyard. its located close to everything. The little kitchen comes stocked with everything you need to cook with and if you want to save some money go to safeway for groceries and cook your own meals as the price to eat out is not cheap at all. I would stay there again.

The experience was horrible. I stayed in the hotel for two nights, and I barely slept. There was a night club downstairs. It played loud music from 10pm until 3am. I talked to the hotel staff after the first night. He told me to call the security officer of the building when it happens again. And it happened again on the second night. The night club played loud music again. I called the security officer as instructed. The officer was rude and didn't help at all.

Although the hotel is in a good location, it is extremely out dated. The Murphy bed was very comfortable but the carpet was worn and stained and obviously covering cracks in the concrete flooring. Kitchen was lacking mixing bowls. The location of the tv was in the bed so couldn't be watched from the bed. The staff was cheerful, friendly and very helpful, even though they are stuck with a run down property.

Horrible. Filthy. Very disappointed in this place.yuuuuuuuuuck!!!!!

I had to separately pay for the parking e.g. $100.00 for my trip extra.

Great location, but lots happening around the hotel, the construction noises across the road start at 5am and finish about 8pm, then the fights and loud noises from the nearly next door night club that goes to 4am, start and just get louder and louder, then there is those that come back after a long day who are drunk and just want everybody to know there "home" After all this and no sleep finally get opportunity to sleep but told no late checkouts Two night of noise hell, enjoy it if you want, we will not be

My husband found a dead roach inside one of the cabinet.. thank God it's dead. The whole facility is old and dirty. Theres also a mandatory surcharge of $15 per day which includes beach towel , boogie board rental etc. Wifi is slow and unstable. The only plus is the location. For the price, please stay elsewhere.

Not really a hotel. The title says Kuhio Banyan Club (not hotel) and has rooms suitable for extended stays with cooking utensils, pots and pans, a toaster etc. At check in you are given a lengthy inventory of items in your room, even including the telephone, toaster, coffee maker and exact number and kind of each towel. You must agree to notify management immediately (not at checkout)of any items missing. Also the building closes at 10:00 p.m. and you are warned to keep $45 in cash (no credit) with you if you stay out later than closing. This fee is required if necessary to call an employee from home if you return after 10:00 p.m. and you have lost your key to the front door, or if your room key becomes demagnetized. Also they put a $250 preauthorized hold on your credit card, and make you sign an authorization with a blank space that allows an employee to write in any amount up to the $250 authorization for any damage, missing items etc.Of course this amount is charged after you have checked out and they have inventoried your room, so you have little opportunity to contest the charge.

Overall the stay was pleasant the staff was very friendly and helpful but the Wi-Fi never worked in the room

Just did not like paying resort fee when I did not use anything from the hotel.

02/23/2017 Hello G, We are happy that you enjoyed your stay with us. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for taking the time to post your positive comments about your stay at the Kuhio Banyan. It is our goal to make our guests feel like they are a part of our Ohana (family) during their stay and we hope they take home happy memories and lots of aloha. We have been able to reposition the TV in some of our rooms and we are exploring ways to reposition them in all of our rooms, however the layout in some rooms makes it a little more challenging to find a spot for the TV so that it is visible from the bed. We appreciate your feedback and we hope that you enjoyed exploring the island of Oahu. Mahalo, From the Kuhio Banyan Club Staff and Management
