Courtyard by Marriott King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel

3.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

We enjoyed the easy access to the most beautiful morning seaside where we sat each day with our delicious coffee from the on site coffee shop. I also attended two wonderful early morning yoga classes which is my favorite way to begin the day. The staff were always friendly and helpful. The beds in our room were super comfortable with amazingly soft bed linens...all cotton I’m sure. It was easy to walk around from the hotel to lots of great restaurants and shopping places. Can’t wait to go back!

Needs a refacing and renovation. Feels like a 70’s building

Rooms were clean & spacious. The hotel itself is beautiful with all the Hawaiian history & beautiful artwork.

There was a chemically smell in our hotel room when we would use the air conditioning. There was peeling paint in the bathroom shower ceiling. There was a red quarter sized stain on the under side of the toilet seat

Yoga near the beach was lovely. The pool was nice.

Hawaiian historically decorations and a lot of things to do on site.

Hotel is next to beach, pier and close to restaurants.

Great beach and pool. Nice room good restaurant. Staff is great

This place wasn't as expected. The hotel is horrible condition for this nice location. The rooms are untidy and overall looked like we are staying in cheap hotel. I have stayed in Marriott before and other hotels on the island and they are beautifully maintained. This is not even one bit good for the money we paid. The sheets were dirty, I saw ants in the room. The lamps and other things in the rooms are old and had black stains on them. The carpet was stained too. Like in the motels. You pau for everything parking, no breakfast, nothing. Its shame for Marriott to have property like this on beautiful island like kona.

Good hotel, right on the beach. Positive stay, but 2 small negatives - the toilet is unusually low to the floor for current standards, and there was only one hook to hang up a towel.

Had telivision issues...staff had to come and reprogram the tv twice

The "Free" WIFI is about useless: 1. You have to know to first login at Courtyard.com. Not automatic. I'm a good guesser. 2. It is slow. Apparently blocking some sites. 3. I could receive emails using IMAP, but it wouldn't allow them to be sent. I guess port 465 is blocked. I gave up and used my phone as an access point. This is 2018. This shouldn't be hard to get right. Otherwise, like a lot of high end hotels, nickle and dime (times 100 or more) you to death.

Great hotel, shops and restaurants are with in walking distance.

This hotel offers a great location, being close to a wide variety of restaurants and shops. There is also a Target, Walmart, and a couple grocery stores within about a mile. The beds have a pillow top, making them very comfortable. The hotel's small beach area was surprisingly great for snorkeling...we couldn't believe the variety of fish we saw just in this little cove. It was a great "starter" area for this activity, with the island's best snorkeling sites just 20-35 minutes away by car. The hotel staff was incredibly accommodating, and we we were very pleased with the scenery from just the partial ocean view room.

Great location in Kona - walkable to an ok beach, drivable to hiking and many restaurants nearby. Staff were great and beds were comfortable. We stayed here after 10 days of staying in an Airbnb just for the luxury. The pool and bar service was great. Buffet breakfast was also amazing.

Lived the room and the staff. Would stay here again!
