like the fact the it felt like home with a studio feel to it.

Close to downtown, eating, Rainbow Falls, etc. Fee parking. 10 minutes to airport.

Not the flashest hotel but for the price and location its a great value!

Just stayed one night so we would be close to airport. Dated but reasonable. Cannot comment on the pool or beach exposure since checked in after dark. Walking distance to restaurants. Friendly staff. Our room was a little musty.

Nice view, needs updating and air conditioner. Could not cool room down. Screen door on the belcony would have helped...screen door missing, so i was unable to advantage of the ocean breeze without letting bugs and mosquitos in. Great location and staff. Parking is on a first come basis.

Good Location, nice pool, helpful staff No air conditioning, No view from odd numbered rooms, no lifts or ramps so even first floor guests need to climb two flights of steps. The room had a mildewed, peeling door to the bath and toilet. 3 hours of handyman labor and $30 in parts would fix it permanently, but they hadn't bothered.

We were at ocean view room. The balcony was very close to the outside stairs which made it very easy for by passers to see into our room. Our curtains were partially open at night and caught a guy looking into our balcony window looking at my wife's ass as she laid on the bed. He was making believe to be looking at the people fishing below but caught him stretching his body over the railing to get a better look at my wife. Other than that the room was functional and can't complain for the price.

I will always return to Reeds when in Hilo. Just leave it the way it is. I'm not into frills. Best rate, safe, clean, staff is very helpful. No nonesense. I do have choices. I have corporate rate at Naniloa but I'm just one of the locals and feel more at home at Reeds.

I've stayed at all of the hotels in Hilo and I've given reeds bay nearly $4000 and I would have to say Reeds Bay is the worst. They have zero customer service and treat everyone rudely. They also charge you for every person in the room. So if you just booked a room on Orbitz and you are bringing your husband or kids prepare to pay an extra $10 per person on top of the taxes and other extra fees. I don't know of any other hotels that do this in hilo and if you have even a small family you'd likely end up paying MORE THAN an actual decent hotel like the Hilo Hawaiian. The rooms are very ugly, no AC, tiny pool that no one uses, and of course the rudeness of the people who work there. Also the TVS don't work properly I've stayed in probably 10 different rooms there over the years and every single TV had issues and still does. I HIGHLY DONT RECCOMEND STAYING HERE EVER.

Did not get to enjoy the grounds or amenities. Bed was clean and comfortable. Room very clean. We checked in late and left early. Although there was loud music at a near by facility when we arrived it was quiet by the time we jumped into bed. Pleasant but brief stay.

Upon arrival we noticed that the area had become run down with homeless/ indigents hanging around. The old hotel/flop house is a dive- dark hallways with old dirty carpets, no elevators or lobby, no security. People are living there. Room door had a standard knob lock without bolt. It definitely seemed dark and unsafe. On the positive side thankfully, after a call from Orbitz support, the hotel manager refunded the charges for our room reservation as we did not stay.

but ...if you are not in a suite with a balcony.....on the side facing the bay and pool area ....be prepared to be hot......just a few fans...no air-conditioning. The parking lot for the property next door has lots of lights and noise at night.

Hotel's location is very closed to ITO airport, very convenient to all directions. Backyard is ocean, nice ocean view.

Great service, but no a.c. I loved the kitchen and the view.

We spent one night in the hotel and it was decent. Nothing fancy, no ac but it was comfortable. It didn't get too hot in the room since it's open air windows and they had 3 fans in the room. There's a kitchenette with a skillet so you can cook simple meals. The staff was friendly and you can walk to some little stores. Good for a nights stay.

Ideally it would cool off. Windows open, but with shades drawn- no cool air got in.

Located next to the Hilton with 1/4 of the price, very friendly staff, have a small kitchen and big refrigerator coffee maker Ki hen sink And a hot plate so you can cook. I will recommend to my friends

This is the 2nd time staying here. The hotel is undergoing some renovations which is a nice touch. Good budget friendly hotel with free parking and wifi on the bay in Hilo
