This property is unlike most others and thats a good thing. The feeling is more zen and minimalist which we liked. Beautiful setting overlooking the falls. Just one walking path down to the falls then through their beautiful bamboo gardens. There is a relaxing pagoda next to the river to sit in quiet and look at the falls. We joined others for dinner with the private chef and that was absolutely delicious.

The beautiful waterfall and natural beauty. The private trails and getaway made it easy to enjoy nature without the fuss of dealing with crowds. Loved it!

I loved the beautiful grounds, secluded setting, friendly staff, and the resident cat, Alice! The room was large, nicely designed, and the bathroom was spacious.

Beautiful location directly in front of a waterfall. The rooms were clean and beautiful! The staff is very friendly and helpful.

The grounds are beautiful. Its a bit far and the road is narrow and dark but Its like that mostly anywhere in this city.

My room was small but nice. Breakfast was good--fresh fruit was great. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. What makes this place so fantastic is the setting. I had to shoot video because the pictures look fake. Gorgeous.

A 20 minute drive from Hilo on a narrow, but well-paved road through macadamia nut orchards, the Inn is situated on gorgeously landscaped grounds overlooking a 150 foot waterfall. A dozen or so rooms are distributed among several small buildings. Staff all welcoming. Best breakfast we had on the Big Island. Nighttime, there is an amazing chorus of tree frogs all around -- can be loud, so bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. Interestingly, the Inn is completely off the grid: Renewable energy and water are supplied by the waterfall, at the base of which swimming is encouraged.

The establishment is a B&B with stunning view of waterfall and pond. The staff is consistently very cheerful, friendly and generous to lend umbrellas, water shoes, sunscreen etc. to make the stay more pleasant. I asked them every morning about activities and always got whatever time I wanted to plan an interesting daily itinerary with staff that knew the island well and were very pleasant and cheerful to go over details to make the day a fun adventure. Some frills that are common in hotels are absent like TV and refrigerator in the room but I didn't miss them at all.

Lovely...just breathtaking surroundings. Private trails and waterfall over 100' high. Open-window sleeping so don't expect AC. Fans work just great. You'll need a car to get around because this place is a drive of about 15 minutes outside of Hilo, but getting there through tropical rainforest and macadamia nut groves is half the fun. You're nowhere near a beach, so enjoy the jungle-like hill country.

Lovely setting, beautiful ground and waterfall. Wonderules staff.

Mattress showing signs of wear. Beautiful setting and grounds. Need gps to find but worth it.

The Inn is a 10 minute drive up a one-lane farm road from historic downtown Hilo. When I arrived, I thought, "Oh no! Is that a noisy air conditioner unit right outside my window?" Nope. It's a spectacular natural waterfall perfectly framed from the balcony of my room. (Closing the window silences the rush.) There's an easy walk down to where the stream pools below the falls and continues on through a series of rapids below. You can swim there if you're brave. The location is serene and restorative - a perfect antidote for urban life. I briefly met the staff and some of the other guests. Everyone was warm and charming. It would take work to be in bad mood in such a beautiful, tranquil place surrounded by natural beauty. I look forward to returning.
