Over all nice place and good location. The room was bit small but our room had a great view.

I reakjy liked the hotel it was really nice and had everything you needed for a good price and everything was in walking distance!

We stayed for a week. It was average ! Space is too tight ! Might work for a couple . Not good for families!

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. the staffs were super friendly and the tour concierge was very helpful. Our favourite facility was the shuttle service to Ala Moana mall. It was very convenient and also a great way to view part of the city. Overall, we had a great stay at this hotel.

I loved it and I will definitely book at this location again .I spent 12 days there and really enjoyed it .

The only good things about this hotel was the location and friendly staff. Don't be fooled by the renovation claim, rooms are old and dirty. There are new sheets and decor but it's hardly a renovation. The worse part was everywhere smelled like trash. The halls and the room. Trash chutes are located in the halls and with the heat n people not closing the door properly everywhere wreaked. Floors were dirty. Dead bug splatters in the walls. Spend the extra few bucks to go on the main strip, it'll be worth it.

The staff was friendly, but service was really slow at the front desk. One guy was so busy while the other was just lounging around not helping, even when I asked he told me to wait for the busy person while texting on his phone!

The Aqua at Island colony was just what I needed for my last second get away. I liked the location. Only 2-3 blocks away from the beach on one side on the other is a canal & park next to it. The canal & park where great for early morning exercise away from the crowds. The cleanliness of the hotel and staff curtesy was spot on. There's a small store inside the hotel making it convinient to buy limited items for either cooking in your kitchenette or getting last second suviners. Most units do have a kitchenette so if you wanna cook there's also a grocery store 3 blocks east, but if you don't want to cook there are some really good restaurants offering good deals throughout the day just around the corner of the hotel. They also have a small restaurant to grab coffe, sandwiches or other quick bites. If you want to go for a drive on the island and see the sites they have an on site car rental service. Finally the concierge (Susan) is very helpful and can offer you some good tips on what to do while staying on the island so you can make the most of your stay.

Read the reviews prior to booking this hotel. Didn't see anything I should be wary of. The hotel is a combination apartment building and hotel. There is no air conditioning in the hallways and they smell very musty. The first clue should have been the downstairs bathrooms. They were very old and outdated. The rooms have a musty odor to them. The first room we were given had a leak and the carpet was wet. We were given a new room. The second night we were there the smoke alarm went off. A resident told us this happens a few times a month and as long as the elevator is working don't worry. The staff turned off the air conditioning when they came in to clean the room so when you returned you had to wait a couple of hours for the room to cool off. The two block from the beach information we received was actually four to six blocks from the beach.

The room with big balcony is very nice. The location is great. It takes 5 minutes on foot from the hotel to Royal Hawaiisn Center. The washing machines are no good. Many of them are out of order. If the hotel fixes the machines, I appreciated. Thanks ( ^ - ^ )

I have stayed at room with a small kitchenette. You can cook at this tiny kitchenette. I don't cook, but I can cut the fruits. Papaya...etc. The room is fresh and clean. The balcony is also clean and "spacious". The internet connection is excellent.

Our experience was great! Highly recommend it! The location of the hotel was perfect, we enjoyed waking up every morning and walking to beach and the local Starbucks. Staff was very accommodating Only downside is that you have to pay 25 bucks for parking but that's pretty much the basic once you get down there.

The hotel itself had everything my boyfriend and I needed, the room was nice. However the bathroom was so small, made getting ready at the same time very difficult. The hotel also has a nice mini mart on the 6th floor, so if you need anything from Kleenex to alcohol they pretty much have it. The only complaint I have is with the staff and the parking fee they charge everyday. It's $25 a day and they don't have a very good system on keeping track if you paid or not and they couldn't give us change for a large bill. PJ and Leilani were extremely helpful and were always very accommodating. Other than that, great walking distance from beach and cute little view of the canal.

Nice hotel 4 blocks away from beachfront expensive hotels for half the price! Totally worth it!

For me location, comfort, value, cleanliness are key to a good hotel. I do not need the services of a 5 star resort, I need a good "home base" while I am out busy beach hopping or seeing the sights. This hotel fit the bill for that. It does not have a fancy spa on site or room service, or any of the other fancy things the 5 star places have. If you don't need that, this place is fine. Most important was the value paid for the room...if was a fair price and I had no complaints other than the shower head was way too low for me.

I think this hotel is a good stay for anyone! Out to one side you have a view of a canal. If its your first time in Honolulu this hotel is in a good location to be able to guide where you need to go. The staff is very helpful and nice! The rooms have kitchenettes so if you are on a family vacation you don't have to spend all your money on eating out. It also has a convenience store inside the hotel which is a blessing to those who don't want to leave. The only thing I didn't like was that it wasn't WiFi in the rooms but it allowed me to get out the room and get some air. Overall this was a great hotel and i would defiantly stay there again!!!

My husband and I decided to be spontaneous and booked this room for 1 night. We wanted to hang out in Waikiki/Honolulu, have a few drinks and be within walking distance of a few night spots. Check-in was slooooow because there was only one person at the desk, the hallways/common areas seemed outdated and in dire need of renovations, but the room itself was upgraded and appealing. The countertops were granite, the showerhead was a modern rain showerhead, there was a new flat stove top, a remote controlled A/C unit, modern bedding and decor, and a medium size refrigerator/freezer. The balcony was huge and had a patio table with a few chairs. The only thing I would've preferred was a king size bed instead of two queens, but my request was not accommodated. If you plan to use the hotel parking garage, be sure to drive a compact or midsize car and not a large SUV. Parking is VERY tight and the ceiling is VERY low. Parking is $25 for 24hrs and valet service is not available. The hotel is situated alongside the canal, so the view is decent. Wasn't the Diamondhead view that I was promised at the front desk. Overall the hotel served our purposes...decent, good location, and not pricey.

Parking is $25 a day. Very difficult to swallow if you're staying long term. We searched for free parking on the Ala Wai canal every night and walked long distances back to the hotel in order to avoid the parking fees. Were fortunate to receive one of the newly renovated rooms. Used the mini mart on the 6th floor twice. Elevators were a problem. Either too full, too slow, or some were out of service. Had to use the stairs once from the 20th floor down because of overcrowded elevators and too long of a wait time. Loved the full-sized refrigerator /freezer, sink, stocked cabinets, microwave and coffeemaker amenities. Saved a lot of money buying groceries instead of eating out. All in all, worth the money and we would stay here again.

We just had a weekend get away, the room was okay. Was a little disappointed w/ the a/c issue, we had 1 a/c only in the bed room, which made the living rm/ kitchen area hot. An our check in was scheduled for 3pm but the room was not ready till 4pm. Other then that, the experiance was good.
