I think the best way to describe the hotel is to say that it is a $100 hotel that happens to be in NYC, so you're going to pay $300. That can be hard to come to terms with because in your head, you expect a $300 hotel. In general it does not look near as nice as the web page makes it look. They know how to get the best angles of the rooms, etc. The room we had was very small and right next to the elevator. Not sure why elevator rooms are not discounted because you definitely have some extra noise going on. It was clean, so that is a plus for sure. The breakfast was okay, staff is polite and friendly, but it was hella busy with a line to be seated and pretty chaotic/noisy. Also, there is essentially no lobby, just a tiny space next to the elevators where you check in.

I loved that it is right in the Chelsea flower market. So lovely. In kitchen in room was a dream. Everything was clean and the complimentary breakfast was better than the reviews suggest. For sure coming back there.

A disappointing experience
The assistants are friendly, but not helpful to be honest. We booked a room with a safety on the higher floor. But they give us a room on the 8th floor without a safety. When we called them to change the room next morning, they did. But first they gave us a room on the 7th floor. So I mentioned about the room I booked and showed them my booking confirmation. They were reluctantly gave us a room with a safety on the 18th floor. My question is: If the rooms have been charged on hotels.com by the type of the rooms, then customers should get a room they booked and paid for without a special request at the reception. The 2nd awful thing is the lifts are not working properly, especially during the breakfast peak time (7:00am-9:00am). You will have to call the reception and ask the lift to stop at your floor, otherwise the lifts simply don't stop on your floor. We worked a couple of times down to the breakfast room from the 18th floor and every time we met people on the staircases who were walking down from higher floors. If you have boxes sent to the hotel before your arrival, the hotel charges $10.00/box. It's the 1st time for me in my last 20 years travel in NYC (I travel to NYC 4 times/year). The sliding door in between the bedroom and the bathroom does't work. So it can't be shut properly. If you are staying with another person in the same room, it's embarrassing). Finally, the rooms are very small. Just enough space for you to walk. So overall, it's very disappointing.
