This hotel is at a great location. Close to our Opera event and our Hell’s Kitchen tour. The staff, mainly Johnny, was so pleasant and helpful. We were able to leave our luggage before and after checking in and out.
Incredible front desk staff. So genuinely welcoming and kind any time we were coming or going from the hotel.
Appreciate the presence of large shampoo and conditioner bottles in the shower rather than the disposable tiny bottles. Recycling container in the room would be nice. No option to have sheets and towels re-used. That is standard in hotels worldwide. Strange omission. Staff at this property is really friendly. Not a given in NYC. They were all receptive and helpful.
The staff were excellent, friendly, and helpful. Would stay here again.
Very clean. Shower was great - roomy, good water pressure. Comfy bed. AC worked well. Room was very small, not even enough room for a sitting chair. Biggest negative was that with only 2 elevators , there was always a wait to ride. In particular, during breakfast hours, it was necessary to queue down the hall for the elevator which is very inconvenient and not optimally safe as it encourages crowding. I can't understand how a facility of this size has only 2 elevators - crazy.
This was a serviceable hotel in a good location. The rooms are fairly small but adequate. The staff is very friendly and professional. The elevators, however, are very slow and the space available for entry and exit is very confined and problematic if one is COVID conscious. The shower pressure is on the lighter side of medium. In any event, however, the location was important to me and I was staying only one night. The price, at about $300 per night, is probably reasonable for NYC, but still steep considering that I felt somewhat confined by the experience.
Great stay, very clean and friendly staff!
As NY hotels go this one is in a great location, has nice updated rooms and we really heard no noise or eternal honking as in other hotels. The king room is small. The “closet” is about ten inches wide and there was maybe a foot between the bed and the window. The bathroom had no counter space but the shower was nice and there were shelves to house your items. The hotel overall was dirty in the halls but they told us they had little housekeeping and only if you asked 24 hours in advance. When we went to the desk and asked for towels they were in our room when we returned. One elevator was out our entire stay and that was a mess. We did the stairs daily and we were on the 11th floor. The desk staff were all very nice. We skipped breakfast because it was a mob scene and long lines to even get in. They had a sign posted suggesting you eat at 6:30-7:30. Really?!! Overall it’s a nice hotel.
Slow elevators
The location is great for Lincoln Center, Fordham, and other mid-town places. The price was great for the location and having a decent continental breakfast was a bonus.
PROS: Hotel was clean and staff friendly. It's a basic hotel and adequate for sleep/rest after a day of sight seeing. Great price for NYC. Breakfast was grab and go due to pandemic. CONS: Our double room was TINY and I would not recommend this for more than 2 people. We were 3 petite adults. The door barely cleared the edge of the bed. It is a few blocks walk (not close for the 75yo in our party to walk to) to Central Park/ Columbus Circle mall. Uber everywhere else. Nice to be away from the chaos of Times Square, but not much more to see/walk to in the neighborhood. All in all a good stay, but know what you're getting.
I liked all the staff. They were all very helpful and kind. There needs to be recycling containers somewhere even if it’s out front on the patio area so you can at the very least recycle cans and bottles. I understand COVID restrictions, but there should be toasters accessible to toast your bagel or have someone make and wrap egg & cheese biscuits and have them in a warmer for people to grab & go. This will at least be a step up and give people a warm filling breakfast option. You could even scramble eggs and have them packaged in the to go oatmeal/soup containers and have them in a warmer packaged for guests to grab and go. My shower needed to be sprayed with bleach. The shower walls and down at the base when your are inside and close the shower door had mildew.
The elevators need some attention- ridiculously slow. Pleasant and obliging staff.
