The hotel is beautifully designed, the bar area is particularly nice. Rooms are nice, quite small but this is typical of NY. Our stay was enjoyable overall but there were a couple of things that we found frustrating about this hotel. 1. There is barely any storage in the room we had. A very small wardrobe - nowhere extra to hang coats and no where to put wash bags in the bathroom and which meant that there was clutter everywhere. It was style over practicality. 2. The hotel corridors often smelled strongly of weed and cigarettes which was a little grim. 3. The hotel charges 2 dollars per bag to store luggage after you check out for any extra bags over 1 per person. I have never been charged for luggage storage and thought this was petty and unnecessary. Also the size/weight wasn’t considered as our extra bags were not large suitcases - 1 was a tote bag.. Overall I am not sure if I would stay again or not. I would recommend for a shorter trip and maybe in the summer when less luggage, coats etc are needed.
Definitely would recommend staying here! My boyfriend and I staying in NY for a quick valentines day getaway. The staff were amazing - I wanted to surprise my partner with a special treat and reached out to the concierge to set up champagne and strawberries in the room for our arrival. Jay (the concierge) went above and beyond, suggesting candles and petals. We arrived earlier than expected but he was able to accommodate our change in schedule. The look on my boyfriends face was priceless! The rooms were nice, clean and well organized. The tv in the mirror was also a cool feature. We had free coffees from the shop every morning and the food in the restaurant was delicious. If you are looking at staying in the heart of midtown, this is the place for you. A 5min walk from times square and access at your doorstep to all of the broadway shows. I would be happy to recommend this place to anybody.
Stayed over the weekend while visiting friends in the city. FABULOUS and relaxing after being out all day. Great place to treat my friends to dinner/drinks! Would recommend for anyone travelling to the city for any reason. It was really like a home away from home--without the dishes
Great location ! Great service ! Best stay I ever had at a hotel. Felt like I was at a home away from home. Jack was amazing, so personable. I felt like I was a member of the family ! Room service was top notch. I highly recommend if you are in the area and looking for a good place to stay, the Time New York would be the best place to choose.
My Husband and I stayed for a weekend, every person we encountered was warm and Friendly. The rooms were spacious and very clean. Definitely one of the best hotels we have stayed in NYC. The lounge had great food and Drinks!
I just returned from the Time New York. This hotel appears to be hip - at least judging from the website and photos online, but I find it not very functional and practical. I booked a Deluxe King and was given Room 312. It certainly is FAR smaller than the Deluxe Kings they depict online. The bathroom was particularly pitiful. The shower stall was no more than 2.5ft x 2.5ft - with a shower curtain! Worst, there is no place to put soap, shampoo or anything within the stall except on the floor! There is a small pedestal sink by the toilet and again, no space for any toiletries at all. There is no outlet by the bed except a USB port. TV inside the mirror sounds hip and interesting, but in reality unless you are staring STRAIGHT to the TV from the bed, you can't really watch what's going on TV if you look from any other angles because of the glare. Also, resolution of the TV suffers greatly because it is in a mirror. Lastly, the heat in my room only works on and off so it was cold in the room and the temperature never got up to where I set the thermostat. Also, no coffee machine in the room. When I requested one, I was told there is none left. Coffee shop and restaurant and room service don't start until 7am - which means if you need a cup of coffee before 7am, you need to leave the hotel. For a business traveler like myself, that is a huge inconvenience. In summary, if you're an international traveller or someone who does't come to NYC often and are just looking for a fun place to stay in the middle of a tourist district, this is an fine place. This is no place for business travelers or any seasoned travelers who look for a comfortable and reliable place to sleep, work, and relax after work.
I can really recommend this hotel. Great service, the location is perfect. Comfortable beds with very nice pillows. Rate for our stay was also great. The Italian restaurant have good food too. We will definitely stay here again!
My husband surprised me with reservations at The Time New York and tickets to The Book of Mormon Musical for my birthday. We stayed here February 6, 2018. We had a great experience and I want to send out a big thank you to this well-run hotel. Every staff member we encountered was cordial, professional and helpful. The room we stayed in was beautifully appointed with modern furnishings and a zen-like feel. I loved the bathroom with the slate tiles, beautiful fixtures and rain shower. The big round mirror opposite the bed was also a tv- just by clicking on the remote control. The glass closet is brilliant for not forgetting something hung up inside. The location can't be beat either. We were right next door to the Eugene O'Neill theater, directly across the street from a parking garage that had a discounted price when validated at The Time's front desk, and one of my favorite vegan restaurants- PS Kitchen, is just around the corner. The only thing we didn't have was a view. There was just a lot of brick walls outside of our window however, we had a wonderful stay and are planning a trip back next month. Highly recommend this lovely hotel.
Stayed here for a week recently, good service - door & reception. I had a suite which had plenty of room, tastefully decorated big wardrobe, comfortable bed, nice bathroom with a well stocked selection of shower products. Down sides: Wifi is very slow Room service is over priced for what actually turned up
Time. We enjoyed the Time but the experience was a bit uneven. The room was a touch small. We had an upgraded room with a king and there was still only a foot or two of space around the side of the bed. The bathroom was nicer. Fair size and well equipped. Overall we found the hotel a touch dark and dingy. The carpets were a little worn...not horrible, just needing a refresh. There is loud music playing as you enter giving the place kind of a wanna be “W” vibe. Better than the room however was the service. Door staff to desk staff were all friendly and professional. Room service order arrived when promised and in good order. Then there is the location. Mere steps to Time Square. Perfect for tourists. We bought through Priceline and got a good deal, so all in were were happy with the Time for the price paid. I’m not sure I’d be as happy paying full summer rates.
