The Mansfield Hotel

I was in NYC for a three day business trip. The hotel was in a fairly central location. However my room smelled like urine and...old people. I'm not usually bothered by little things but it was almost overpowering.

Although we spent the majority of the time out and about and were only in the room to sleep it was still a nice hotel to stay in and the fact that it was two blocks from Time Square and Grand Central Station made it easy on the pocket since we didn't have to use a taxi or Uber .

Hotel gave us not good map of New York City, that's why we have a hard time going to a lacations we want to see.

Good location. Facilities OK. Rooms VERY small, especially the "bathroom". We could have overlooked these limitations had the front desk been helpful. First the advertised expression/cappuccino machine in the lobby was broken. Then the "coffee in the library" was only occasionally available - at the staff's convenience. Towels were available at the whims of the linen supply; no washcloths was not uncommon. Our slow-draining sink was never fixed despite 3 requests. The one bright spot was the maid service and maintenance service. These two employees were a pleasure to deal with were professional and cordial. I think our stay would have probably been much better had these two been running the front desk.

You have to pay for wifi, the rooms are ridiculously small, the junior suites are fine. There are better hotel for the same price. The location is really great though.

We live in the city and booked for a family member. The front desk staff was great. Bar and rooms could use an upgrade. One one drinking glass in the room. All in all it wasn't horrible but for. For a Jr. suite there should have been a few more amenities.

The hotel overall was pretty nice. The lobby and general areas were excellent. The room was a little small and dark; only one window and it faced a brick wall. The bathroom was in excellent condition, although the bathtub was pretty shallow. The closet was sufficient but the small refrigerator was inadequate.

At check in the girl behind the counter couldn't figure out how to check us in, the other girl checked in four people while we stood there. Neither smiled or was helpful. She couldn't figure out how to code that it was booked by orbitz, I can't believe I'm the first orbitz customer. But even if there's an issue she didn't apologize for the delay or direct us to complimentary coffee while we stood there holding our bags. Then the the bar when the bartender finally appeared walked out and said oh hey and then went to walk away again, I asked for a drink she oh ya of.course. like shouldn't that have been your first question hi, can I help you or do you need a menu. No oh hey. Then asked me my room number and name in front of other guests, no real security swipe my room key or anything could have just used any room number I heard other people check in with or whoever heard my info at the bar. Another guest in the restaurant recieved his order which was not right and tried to explain it to the Spanish speaking cook who brought it out, then the bartender came over to assist and told the man thats the only kind they had wherein a third person who worked there said he just wants plain fries. It was like not one person who worked there has ever been trained in customer service or about the facility in which they work. The room was loud you heard every noise on the road wind blowing, people on the street and in the halls sounded like they were right there in the room with you.

Mattress was worn out and room was small not even a plastic cup to drink water with, tv to small, great location, room clean though, great history at hotel, I would stay there again j

Price was deciding factor since I am not in the room except to sleep when in NYC. Room was small but clean and comfortable.

The Mansfiled was perfect for what I required. I needed a low price room for one night and for one person. The room was small but ok for one person. It was clean. Bathroom was nice. Room was cool which was nice since i was there in August. Surprisingly quit at night given its proximity to time square. Good location. Only negative is that the Internet service cost in the room. It's free, however, in a nice common area located in the lobby.

Excellent location but this place should never be rated as a four star hotel. Smal rooms withold wood floor but a bottle of water costs $9! The place leaves a lot to be desired.

Very nice hotel, in the middle of everything that Manhattan has to offer, staff was very accommodating and very knowledgeable about the city, when you asked them a question about places to eat or see they were very helpful.

Self park $22 about 3 blocks walk away. Everything very close there. Use restrooms in the Applre Store even with an Android phone!!

Me and my best friend stayed here and it was the best decision ever. We were close to everything! Times square, and subway stations! Overall it was a great experience.

The staff were very pleasant! Only stayed one night so did not really get to experience all the hotel has to offer.

My trip was wonderful, and the room at The Mansfield was very nice! Despite its small size and view of a brick wall out of the window, we still had a very nice time. I had a drink at the bar and it tasted watered down, which I thought was odd because of the moderately high price tag associated with it. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would recommend this hotel to a person looking for a nice, budget-friendly place to stay.

The room was small, but that's not a negative thing for me. It was comfy, clean & the decor was great. Bed was comfortable & the staff was friendly. Definitely great for the price.

This was our first stay at the Mansfield hotel, and I'd say we'd come back again. The hotel staff was very helpful and the room was very quiet and clean. The hotel is 5 mins away from everything, 42nd street, 5th Ave, Chrysler Building and more.
