I liked the old building and the history of it. Bathroom was a bit tight, would have liked a hook to hang a towel or robe on.

Lovey old hotel with great character, excellent location and service, very clean, newer bathrooms, very comfortable and quiet. Not luxurious and the rooms and halls are small but overall a great stay at a great price.

I love this place. I will be going back over and over. It's an old building with an equally old heating system. Solution to the room being a bit too warm? Open the window! And the windows actually open! Everything was sparkling clean and the staff were all so pleasant and helpful. I love this place!

Nice location, nice staff, nice room. Pull out bed was uncomfortable for adults

This boutique hotel has a great location and friendly bell and service staff. (The front desk group could smile a bit more.) But the property is rapidly becoming outdated, even though the public areas are nice, even elegant. But rooms are small, the heating system is awful and inefficient, and room amenities are almost nonexistent. Besides a desk chair, there was no place to sit in either of the two rooms we stayed in. We requested a move out of a large, spacious front room because we could not adjust the heat and the street noise was bothersome. Even though it was a large room, it had no furniture to speak of, and the only electrical outlet in the tiny bathroom was right over the sink. (Can this be up to code?) The television was primitive in both rooms, and the remote did not work in the first. Not that you're going to watch a lot of tv while in NYC, but still when you do, you would like to be able to see a sharp image on the screen and change the channels. Pretty basic in this day and age. The only breakfast on offer is a continental, with a handful of (fresh) pastries and some awful coffee from a dispensing machine. The library is nice relaxing place to have that breakfast or an afternoon wine, but there are no newspapers to read. The M bar was never open. All in all, this hotel doesn't offer much besides a great location near 5th avenue. I must not neglect to commend the concierge and bellmen, who were terrific and very helpful with directions and reservations.

Hotel centrico , amable los empleados, las almohadas no son comodas y no olian bien . Lo demas sin dificultad.

I only needed to stay in NYC for one night. I got an excellent rate for this hotel and was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. The lobby area and Library are very nice and look much like the photos. It is clean and bright when you walk in. The rooms are a bit dated but very clean and cozy. The bed linens were clean and crisp. The pillows were comfortable and the bed itself was fine. The window AC unit cooled the room and bathroom well and I sleep better with the hum of the AC so that did not bother me. The windows brought in lots of light and the blinds worked well for the morning when I wanted to sleep in. The elevator is very small and needs to be updated but it served its purpose. I read that they did not have a refrigerator in the rooms but my room had a small refrigerator in the closet! I did not use the fridge but it was cold and running. They had a very nice bellhop and also a very nice concierge that lent me his charger and charging cord! I was a bit disappointed to find that there was not an iron or ironing board in the room. I am sure if I called the front desk they would have brought one, but I did not do that and just used my wrinkle spray! Based on the price and what I got for the price - I would stay at this hotel again, but if you like big hotel rooms, this might not be the place for you. I enjoyed the cozy feel of the room and how quiet it was on the 11th floor. Great experience for me and great location.

Excellent location in Manhattan! The room was okay. It was small (which is to be expected) but clean. Ventilation was poor, none in the bathroom and the AC window unit blew right into the head of the bed as we slept, not ideal. Middle of the road on recommendation. For some it would be outstanding but for others the air flow issues would be a no go.

Great central location. Room was very small, but the real issue for me was the in-room air conditioner was very loud, which made it hard to sleep.

This is an older but recently renovated hotel. The hotel chose to keep its charm and preserved the woodwork and flooring and overall look of the property, but the furnishings in the rooms are mostly new. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. The rooms are smaller but have a bed, a desk (most of them I've stayed in), and a TV. There is a reading room on the first floor with windows looking out to the street, and a well-appointed coffee machine. The hotel is two long (east-west) blocks from Times Square and two short blocks from Bryant Park and the New York Public Library, and the closest subway station. You can get anywhere quickly. The hotel price is very good for the location, but you need to remember the NYC resort fee; this fee is added to the hotel cost per night, so the actual cost of the room is noticeably higher. This is not the Mansfield's fault, as the resort fee applies to all NYC hotels, but the taxes and resort fee add $50 per night to the cost of any NYC hotel room anymore. I've stayed here several times and prefer it to any other hotel in the city I've stayed in so far. Worth a second look. I hope your experience is as positive as mine have been.

Location was superb. Older building, limited amenities, tiny TV’s that don’t work, fixtures that were falling off. Plumbing in shower backwards and difficult to use. Bathroom was handicapped but room can’t fit a wheelchair. Strange.

I love their gym. It's small, but very well equipped with multiple weight machines and dumbells. The rooms are small and there aren't any frills like room service, but it's very nice all the same. The location is terrific; two blocks from Times Square and near many Broadway Theaters.

Very nice boutique hotel. An older property for sure, but it is nice to step off Midtown streets and into a historic setting. Outstanding staff. Will be going back on my next trip.
