From the minute I stepped out of the taxi, I knew I had a winning hotel. This place is beautiful!!! The staff was attentive as soon as we arrived, the lobby was chic and definitely has a cool vibe going on. The elevator and lights were amazing and added the perfect touch. The hallway was incredible and the room made my heart melt. This is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed and highly recommend!!!
Our room was predictably small; it is nyc after all. I care far more about aesthetics than size however so I didn't mind. Room was beautiful; good blend of crisp white and marble classic with a pop of chic color/detailing. It was the total reason I booked this hotel. Negatives.... I don't love carpet it always feels dirty considering people walk the streets and then come up to their room. The bathroom was beautiful but the shower leaked water all over the floor because there was no edge; an intended design for style not function.
Restaurant did not let us in 10 minutes before 11 PM (closing hours) not even for a glass of water or a small bite and we were so hungry we could have been done with our needs in that time (we were a group of 4). We stayed for 4 nights and the hotel did not make our room on day even though we left the card out the door requesting the room be made. They could only change our towels and take out the trash late at night when we found it and the hotel could not do our room at that time. Some nobs felt out, some lamps were not functioning properly, the two phones look modern but failed in multiple times under various reasons, including batteries. The mini-bar has a good selection, including white wine, red wine and champagne but there are not glasses in the room? The shower bathroom in the corner suite we booked has a large window inside the shower part, with no curtains, and the door is translucent, so there is no manner for you to sleep in the next day, all the sun light is going to come inside the room and there is just no way to block it. The room space is ridiculously tiny. I know its NY but come on, you are going to hit yourself many times while you stay in that tiny room. The surcharges are there. The movies are charged more in the bill than as stated in the TV. There is no 24 hour room service. The food portions are questionable. The ravioli came with 3 pieces for example.
Lovely garden in front, hip hotel. Would've been nice to have umbrellas up front but had to go to front desk to ask for them. Also, only had WSJ, no NYT and you had to ask for it at the restaurant. Not super luxe but convenient hotel in great central area.
Nice hotel with pretty small rooms. Overall was a decent choice but in my opinion there are better options in the neighborhood. That being said, I would stay here again if I needed to. Pros: the rate was pretty decent, the location was great (for me), pretty quiet at night, the walkway in is beautiful. Cons: The bathroom sink is "in room" and the bathroom is basically a big closet (very high ceilings) with a toilet and a shower in it. The entire hotel felt overly fragrant. Washing up / getting ready at the bathroom sink that was right next to the door felt a little awkward. I felt like people could hear everything going on. The room looked very nice at a glance, but when you really looked at some things, they were a bit rough around the edges.
Stayed on a friday and saturday night. Prices were more than reasonable for the caliber of hotel and location in NYC. Awesome atmosphere, even the aroma was pleasant as you entered the building. The restaurant inside that hotel was fantastic as well. I will be going back.
Good hotel to stay in NYC, like turist or like business
Great staff, very clean, high-end, restaurant has good food.
The Mondrian Soho was excellent. One of the things that makes traveling difficult is the lag time between arriving somewhere and getting service. That didn't happen here, it felt like I was in my room and relaxing five minutes after walking in the door at midnight, which was a wonderful feeling. The concierge service was great, the restaurant recommendation was right on, and the room was perfect for me. I was able to plug in and charge all my gadgets and work in the room, which was also a plus. I will definitely be back. Rebecca
