My three stars all go to the staff - they were really great - friendly, helpful, responsive. The property itself needs to be brought up to standards that match the staff. It is run down, neglected and in desperate need of major renovations. The location is very convenient, lots of dining and shopping nearby. As far as the property itself, it is in rough shape. My first room had very visible mold around the shower - it was disgustung. The front desk was apologetic and quickly changed my room. The new room had fresh caulk in the same shower areas where my other room’s shower had mold - not sure what was underneath caulk. The shower door didn’t shut completely. The A/C did not work well - thank goodness the window opened to cool things off. A/C in fitness center wasn’t working - and both treadmills had issues with speed buttons not working properly. I have stayed at Holiday Inn Express hotels before, but never one so in need of repairs. Guests and the hotel staff deserve better!

Location ! Centrally located. Easy subway rides to other NY destinations and very walkable. Room was clean, staff very helpful. Breakfast had a good variety. Sam the general manager was very helpful. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

Good hotel but breakfast not great

Hotel was clean and room was good. We paid extra for a city view and got this which was lovely - a view of the Empire State Building. I emailed the hotel twice before staying however I received no reply which was disappointing. Breakfast was just adequate for the price we paid. I didn't like the fact that paper plates were used. Cutlery was plastic throwaway which is not eco friendly at all. Breakfast room too small for number of guests.
