I went for a short weekend trip, and must say that this was an excellent location. Its about a 12-15 minute walk from Penn station. The staff is friendly. The rooms are a bit tiny but its clean and well maintained. The breakfast is great and you are very close to the empire state building. I would not think twice about staying here again.
Stayed for a night recently in a teeny-tiny room on the 10th floor looking right onto the building next door. The room was clean but the carpet was so old and dingy I didn't really want to walk on it. Nice neighborhood -- right in the flower district and down the street from FIT. Good restaurants and bars around. Decent price.
We traveled to New York City for a weekend away. While the trip was fun, it turned into one of those adventures where a number of things went wrong. I left my credit card at an airport store and my mother-in-law left her license at home, We arranged to have them delivered to the hotel. Jenifer, who was working at the front desk, recognized we were having a tough day and delivered a bottle of champaign to our room with snacks to make the day a bit brighter. She was a great hostess and was very attentive to all the guests needs. The hotel itself is very nice and is located right in the flower wholesale district. The sights of the flowers and the wonderful fragrances emanating from them made for a great walk in the morning as the workers moved the flowers out to the street. There was also a yellow cat who seemed to be the greeter for the hotel on the front porch area. I don't think an earthquake would have encouraged him to interrupt his daily nap outside the hotel. :) As always, the Fairfield Inn breakfast was good and provided a nice start to each day for our family. I would highly recommend this hotel as an affordable place to stay while visiting New York City.
If you are looking for a hotel to stay while you venture NYC…this is the place. From check-in to check-out it has everything you need including great customer service. Comfy bed and surprisingly decent breakfast. Hidden gem during your stay….rooftop patio overlooking the Empire State building!
This is a wonderful place to stay if you are coming to New York. It is within walking distance to Times Square but far enough so as not to hear all the noises that you can expect to hear on a daily basis. The manager, Janessa Williams, was truly accommodating and friendly. If you are wanting to stay at a place that is reasonable, clean and nice, stay at Fairfield Inn.
We stayed 10 nights in this excellent hotel. The location, the wonderful view from our window ( empire state building), the spacious room, the good breakfast, and the helpfull hotel staff, made our trip to manhattan more enjoyable.
The room is a little small, not much space to put stuff and luggage, but then again it's Manhattan, typical. Breakfast is very ordinary and not much variety, better off having breakfast outside. The beds are comfortable and the staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly. The hotel is very near the subway and very convenient. Note that the hotel is in the middle of the wholesale flower district and it can get quite noisy early in the morning. Be down early for breakfast as the food run out relatively fast (around 8am.)
Stayed here for two nights while on a business trip and couldn't have been more pleased! Great location and room was just what I needed! No bathtub- but space is a premium in the city so no big deal. Complimentary coffee, tea and water 24/7! Free printing on computers! Complimentary breakfast each morning! Enjoyed the rooftop patio a few times with a great view of Empire State Building. Try GiGi's Cafe (3 min walk) away on 7th for fabulous made-to-order salads. They'll even chop it all up and toss your dressing for you! Yum!
This is such a no-brainer for me. It's clean and quiet (with a room in the back). The rooms are not large but I'm looking only to get into bed and read until I fall asleep. The staff is great. It's two blocks from my favorite Starbucks. I can get up nearly two hours later than I do at home and still be at my office by 8:00 a.m. And as I leave for my morning run, the flower district is already alive and two workers are putting a dozen magnificent Bougainvillea trees in front of the hotel's outdoor seating area. How I love Bougainvillea! What more do I need? This place is such a deal.
This small hotel is tucked away right on W 28th Street. The street contains many flower shops that line the streets with their merchandise (i.e. Flower District). It makes for a real nice walk to and from the hotel! The hotel is very convenient to many shops, restaurants, and sights in mid-town NYC. Also, it is a very easy walk to Penn Station. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The check-in process was quick and easy. Breakfast in the morning is available and had plenty of good choices - hot and cold foods, and plenty of fresh fruit. The breakfast area has seating both inside the hotel and in a sunroom area - very nice area if you have a sunny day! The breakfast is both a great time and money saver if you are staying in the area for a few days. Our hotel room, while a bit small, is pretty much the norm for NYC. Everything was neat and clean - and in good working order. The hotel has a rooftop area - which we quickly visited. Some nice views from the rooftop area - both day and night. The front desk staff were happy to help us on our last day... We asked them to hold our luggage while we explored the city. We were not leaving until much later in the day. We liked this hotel and its location so much, that we will choose it on our next trip!
