Just stayed there 2 weekends in a row. Roxanne at the front desk went above and beyond to make our stay totally comfortable! If a company has people this good, it tells me a lot about the rest of the hotel. She showed a lot of personal interest in our whole group and we were all impressed! The breakfast was good, the rooms were small (but big for NYC), the beds were very comfortable.
I stayed here when I was relocating to New York for about 5 days. Got a great rate from Marriott and then the fabulous woman at the front desk bumped me up to a corner room with a view. The room was huge for a NY hotel room. The bed and the linens were some of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. Seriously. I was so comfortable here. Always nice to wake up and see fresh flowers all over the sidewalks, too. Breakfast is decent, but quite hectic. Dozens of starving tourists with their families, so it was a bit of a war zone sometimes. If you can manage through it, you can get satisfied. Everyone I dealt with was always friendly and attentive. Would happily stay here again
Nice hotel within walking distance of Penn Station and many of the key sights. We had an issue with our room and the staff changed it quickly and were friendly. Like every NYC hotel, the rooms were small but you wouldn’t spend much time there.
The staff assistance was excellent. We got to the hotel early and was offered the opportunity to check our bags while we explored the nearby areas. Checkin was average. The room itself was tiny, typical Manhattan size room. It was clean and quiet. Next morning, early, at breakfast there was a homeless person getting two large plates of food. Once the staff discovered him he was dealt with in a quiet non embarrassing humane manner. Being in the Flower District the sidewalks were full of beautiful flowers and plants of all sizes.
We brought a team with 32 HS Cross Country girls and a number of parents. Our team travels quite a bit and this hotel was one of the most accommodating hotels where we've ever stayed. Staff was always friendly and extremely helpful, the breakfast was outstanding and our stay was wonderful. Whenever our girls needed water, they had it, and we're talking 30 girls having to fill their water bottles basically every day. Location was awesome, 1 block from the 1 line and within walking distance of Times Square. I can't say enough positive things about this hotel. We plan to return in the next few years and we will absolutely for sure return to this hotel.
What an amazing place, for something that looks quite small outside, the service and facilities could not have been better! On arrival we were told we could wait a bit longer for a free upgrade as we were going for my girlfriends 21st. Kevin the manager was great! Nothing was too much for him, we recieved multiple complimentary muffins, a card and a bottle of sparkling wine. He helped us naviagate round the city and provided us with a late checkout after finding out we had a late flight. All staff were easily approachable and helpful. There was a good variation in food for breakfast. The hotel is in a good location and a subway station is just down the street. Overall rating of 10/10. Thank you for making our visit so special!
My wife and I stayed here when we were in NYC to see the US Open. The hotel is extremely well located, walking distance to Penn Station, restaurants, and other subway lines. It was also very well priced, but the rooms are very small, even by Manhattan hotel standards. This was fine for us as we didn't spend much time in the room. Travelers with children or looking to spread out should probably look elsewhere. But, if you are traveling light or don't plan to spend too much time in your hotel room, this hotel might be a steal.
Conveniently located close to subway and public transport ; loved leaving the hotel amidst all of the potted flowers and plants than lined the sidewalk each morning as this is in the flower district; enjoyed a varied and generous buffet for breakfast which really helped keep our costs down;but most of all appreciated and enjoyed the staff, especially the evening crew of Janessa, Samantha and Roxanne who were so accommodating in finding us the right size room for 4 Canadian seniors; guiding us through technical adjustments [ Wi-Fi, room safe, thermostat] and still made us feel like we were coming home each evening as they greeted us warmly anxious to hear about our daily adventures and ready to answer our questions and make recommendations. We will be recommending this hotel to our friends and family.
The picture of the hotel's room on TA gives the impression of a brighter room than the one we had. Our room, comprising of two double beds and a small bathroom (shower over bath) was fairly depressing with dark furniture and carpeting and drab walls. We overlooked a brick building where it's workers had a direct view into our room when we raised the blinds which meant that during working hours we left both blinds down. Still, you don't stay in your room much during the day so we were fairly resigned about this. We had breakfast (complimentary to guests) at the hotel. I really enjoyed the variety but did note that although there are two rooms accommodating guests these were very cramped at weekends with many people waiting for people to vacate tables. Also, I was disappointed that breakfast finished at 9am (10am weekdays). Why would you do this when the majority of your guests are on holiday? There are no other meals or even a bar at the hotel so what's the rush? We found the hotel easily accessible from Penn Station. It is only one stop on the metro to W28th street but we had quite a bit of luggage and walked down 7th Avenue to 28th which took us only a few minutes - no big deal. With the metro at the end of the street we went to The South Shore for the free Staten Island Ferry and in the other direction to Central Park. - no problems at all. We went to a bar called the Compton Ale House in W27/W26 street which had good beers and food and there is also a cheap laundromat at W26th. All in all, a useful location to be in. I should add the young ladies on the front desk we're friendly and helpful. Thanks Ashley.
We chose this hotel for its convenient location. Some places of interest are within easy walking distance and a nearby metro station allowed us access to others. We received a friendly welcome on arrival and our king room was a good size, with a comfortable bed. There was plenty of choice for breakfast, including cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruit, oatmeal, waffles, assorted breads and juice. There was always scrambled egg and omelette on offer plus sausage or bacon and veggie sausages. In all of our travels in the USA this was the first time we saw veggie sausages. The one down side was the noisy location, though unsurprising as we were in NYC. Would have given a 5 had the pillows not been so lumpy and the carpet badly stained.
