Stayed in this hotel in early January with a group of girls from work. Great hotel, and in a super location. Our stay was made comfortable and anything we needed or any directions and information that we asked for was provided by the extremely helpful staff. The rooms wereclean, bed linen and towels changed daily and our breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Would highly recommend. Value for money.
We had a great week staying at this hotel, family of four. Room was small, to be expected, but even with lots of luggage and shopping ;) we managed quite well. Special mention to Roxanne and Tori, who were extremely helpful and welcoming, with all our inquiries and packages! Definitely staying there next time around.
My husband and I went for an overnight date in the city. We live fairly close to Manhattan so I had this silly idea a few years ago to stay at all Marriott properties in the city. Well let me tell you this little gem is by far my favorite so far! My husband told them that this was our Valentine day since he would be out of the country on business this week for actual Valentines. We went out for a little while came back to the room to the most amazing gesture,,,a heart shaped Ferraro Rocher’s, a Valentine card, and a small plaque that said “Boss Lady” Can you say going above and beyond! Our room was an executive suite and it was clean and very nice. I also love the location. It’s perfect with perfect staff. If you are planning to go to NYC this is your place! Thank you again to the staff. My husband will also follow up with Marriott with how pleasant you made our stay.
I usually stay in mid town Manhattan but my usual place was very expensive this weekend for some reason so I found the Fairfield Inn and Suites in Chelsea. Great location. Wonderful service from Samantha at the front desk to the people at breakfast to the housekeeping done well and timely. The room was small yet very clean and very comfortable and the view not much but the price allowed us to go out to wonderful dinners. With breakfast decent and varied this hotel was quite a deal! Will return!
This hotel, reasonably priced, friendly staff, clean and a great breakfast can't be beat. It is in a great location on 28th street one-half block from the subway. The breakfast can't be beat, eggs, sausage, even non-Meat sausage, as well as the usual cereal, toast, bagels etc. Really, give this place a try.
We were a group of 7 ladies from Ireland on a 5 night trip to NY. While I have been in NY on many occasions I have never stayed in this area. So surprise surprise to find such a great hotel in a very convenient area- we were able to walk everywhere. Only took subway once to Ground Zero and that was even easy just at the end of the block. Several of our group were visiting NY for the first time so being so Central was great for sightseeing . Reception staff were excellent, nothing too much trouble, water always available , tea/coffee station all day, I was surprised how good the FREE breakfast was as I am a picky eater and enjoyed it every morning. Room for 3/4 occupants is small but beds are comfortable, great pillows and so clean. Bathroom was good and shower was perfect. Hotel is also quiet so got great sleeps on the 17th floor. Anyway when in NY you only sleep in it as there is so much to do. I have already given this hotel to several friends for their next trip to New York and I am looking forward to staying there again soon. Finally we found a great deli on 6th ave , great lunches from there. Thank you Fairfield Inn for a very enjoyable stay. You should be very proud of all of your staff. See you again soon. Margaret
I stayed at this hotel with a friend for a weekend in January. I actually kind of booked this hotel by mistake. My friend and I had been going back and forth with options of where to stay and I thought this was where we agreed on, so, I booked it. When we were being dropped off my friend said “this isn’t where we are staying” and I said “yes…it is?” Turned out to be an excellent “mistake”! This isn’t a fancy hotel. You aren’t going to walk in and be wowed by the lobby. It is clean and in a nice location (flower district). It is walking distance to a lot of major attractions (we are big walkers but we really didn’t need to take transit or cabs anywhere and we saw a LOT). What WILL wow you is how truly nice the staff are. The front desk staff when we arrive were friendly and showed genuine interest in us as guests. We were early for check in and they found us a room so we could start our weekend right away. We told them we were in NYC to celebrate my birthday and when we came back after a day of walking we found a bottle of wine one ice with a lovely welcome note. Amazing! The staff in the breakfast area were also all very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are small but, it’s a major city so that is totally expected. It was surprisingly quiet (ask for a room at the back of the building…no view but definitely quieter), not a lot of storage space but for 2 people over a weekend, it was totally manageable. Only downside really would be not having an in room safe or fridge. The included breakfast had way more options than expected and is a VERY nice bonus in an expensive place like New York City. Awesome stay. Would definitely recommend to anyone headed to NYC. I hope to visit again soon!
Great location. Very clean hotel, it's obviously been kept up-to-date. The free breakfast is served in a nice area that includes a covered/climate controlled sun room. They offer free coffee/tea throughout the day, and free water in the lobby. Our bathroom was small; you couldn't stand in it with the door open, really, but our friends were staying in another room and didn't have as small a bathroom. Would recommend.
I came away with this hotel with nothing terrible to complain about, but nothing that would drive me here again. The staff was friendly and accomodating, the room was clean, and the location was great. Otherwise, I was still left wanting for a few things. The hotel room by Manhattan standards was still pretty small. With a two double bed room, there was very little maneuvering room, and even less to park a suitcase. I was disappointed to not see a mini fridge in the room, which would have mattered if my insulin dependent child was with me. There was also a distinct lack of electrical outlets to plug in phones and tablets. If you want ice, you need to head into the basement, where the exercise room was located. When I needed to print something, the single computer station was occupied, and even then, the printer was not functioning. In the middle of January, the room was either too hot with the heat on or too cold with the A/C on. There was no middle ground. Conclusion: a decent if otherwise lacklustre hotel. I won't ever not consider it, but can think of better alternatives in New York City.
I chose the hotel based on the location expecting the typical business hotel with impersonal service. However the staff were very friendly and provide an exceptional service. They helped with packages that arrived before and during my stay and kept luggage while I traveled out of NYC. I would return here purely based on the service.
