I booked this hotel because the food was included. The reception in the eventing was not very good (pasta salad, cookies and chips). The food looked wilted and old. The morning food was adequate to get me started for the day.
One of the most expensive two star hotel in the world.
The rooms are small. The fold out bed on the couch is terrible. The room is too small for 3 adults with luggage.
Although the room was booked for three people, there were no sheets for sofa bed, we had to call about this twice, and it took over an hour to get it, and we are talking after midnight!! So we lost precious sleeping time..
We were on the 25th floor and the toilet would not flush requiring use of main lobby bathroom. Also, there was a $30 "credit' for the bar/restaurant upon check in. I was charged $30 for one drink, and the bartender did not have olives or a martini glass, nor olive juice for a Martini. It was poured in a rocks glass. No effort to make good on these issues was offered by the hotel or staff.
Excellent maid service. Poor selection at Bar. Food was poor.
Great location. Close walking to Times Square, Empire State, Madison Square Garden. Close to subway lines to Battery Park. Staff did a good job with full breakfast despite it getting crazy busy at 9:30 am. Hotel was clean.
Helpful and hospitable staff.
Complimentary breakfast was great! Room was small and uncomfortable for junior suite.
Great property with a nice view, will definitely stay her again!
Staff was friendly and accommodating to my needs and wants.
Good location to access what we wanted to visit in NY.
The staff at check in were very courteous, professional and extremely helpful. Some assurances I had been given over the phone for a connected family room and upper level were not noted on the reservation but the staff at check in accommodated all our requests.
Great property!!
The Embassy Suites Times Square is a perfectly acceptable choice. Clean, quiet, modern, close to subways, Penn Station and Times Square. 37th is relatively quiet street (by New York standards). The building is well constructed and you only hear the very loudest noises. The bed is comfortable and the staff are all working very hard. There is nothing to complain about the hotel at all. One of the selling features was "breakfast included". They are trying hard, but this is 34 story hotel with a dining room that maybe seats 100. The staff are hustling, but they can't keep up with the food on the buffet, or bussing the tables or finding clean plates and cutlery. Breakfast became a stressful unpleasant experience. There aren't easy solutions but the hotel needs to address this. Like all hotels in Manhattan, they puff up the nightly rental with a resort fee. The Embassy suites gives a $30 F&B credit daily, but unless you are using the hotel as a resort, it is pretty difficult to use the $30 given the operating hours of the F&B service. Obviously this is the guest's choice ( we chose NY restaurants and Broadway ), just be aware you may not benefit from the advertised perk. Quibbles aside, it is a fine property, conveniently located, clean and comfortable.
