We ended up getting into the city early. We actually got in to the hotel a few hours before check-in. I was told that early check-in was based on availablity, which is understandable - we didn't get right away. We got into a room about 2 hours early. Nice room - terrible view (scaffolding outside with trash right in the window). The issue only came with the plumbing. I showered and noticed some standing water, but didn't think much of it. Later that evening, another one of us showered and the water was still in there. The toilet clogged as well. We called down to the front desk and was told someone would be there soon, a half hour passed and no one came (I had to call again). I know, sh*t happens, just a little disappointing.

2 blocks off Port Authority so public transport in/out NYC very convenient! Very popular so FREE hot & cold breakfast ( excellent & many choices! ) can crowded. WiFi in rooms free but can be weak. Elevators can be slow. City noise unavoidable even if staff tried to relocate me to higher floor! SECOND STAY. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED- will stay again!

Everything about this place... except for the elevators at high traffic times - is AWESOME! Loved the rooms, the kitchenette, business center, breakfast area... everything! I come to NYC at least 3 times a year. This will be my go-to NYC hotel from now on!

The hotel it’s in a good location, breakfast is poor , elevators take a long time to stop at your floor keeps skipping the floors some times 10 minutes or more before stoping , shower drain in our room and my son’s room were clogged,

Great location! Great staff- very accommodating, very friendly. Molly & John the manager are esp helpful when I checked in /out. WiFi weak, hard to send multiple pics to friends if all at once. At night, it was hard to sleep with road noise- horns, ambulance sirens so John told me next time ask for higher floor & away from road room location.

While they’ve updated the bathroom and have a great kitchenette the rest of the room has very old furniture. The hard word floors are pretty but very cold. The housekeeping staff was very nice but evidently overworked as they never made it to our room before 3 so in 5 days they only cleaned the room once, as we were back around 4 to change for dinner and the theater. Then in check out day despite the fact they had said they’d give us till 1 instead of noon our keys were locked out at 11:40! Very frustrating. The breakfast was good, but it’s over by 9:30 and for vacationers that was a bit early for us so we only made it down in time once. Overall I give it an average. I’d rather pay a little more to be closer to theaters and have a little more luxury.

The room wasn’t cleaned properly and the shower had cracks in it. The walls are so thin you can hear everything the rooms next to you are doing. I was very disappointed and will not be returning.

Within a few blocks of the theater district, which is exactly what we wanted. The hotel is nice, staff was awesome, helped greatly with using the subway. Yes, there are only three elevators but they give you tips on how to avoid waits. Breakfast was good and they have trays so you can take it back to your room. There will always be complaints about any hotel you choose to stay in, but if you want to stay in the heart of New York City, the Element is definitely great hotel to choose

30 minute wait for a room. When I got it, 2 cleaning people were still in there cleaning. Refrigerator was missing a foot - and was wobbling. only 1 of 3 elevators working. LONG wait to go to or leave the room. TV had no cable service. The couch had a big stab mark/hole in the middle of it. The bathroom didn't look clean. I have stayed in other Element hotels before and loved them. This was very disappointing.

It has been about a month and my deposit has not been returned. Staff is not very friendly . Will never stay there again

So disappointed by our stay on Friday Sept. 8th, Room was insanely expensive on Orbitz, room was in disrepair, dirty, Dirty Boogers on the tiles in shower, Hairs on the walls around the sink... Elevator didn't work, which hotel informed us of, but still we were waiting for 20 minutes before we gave up and walked down 16 flights.... Check in was more than 30 minutes late, so frustrating after having had a good experience only a few weeks earlier... wont return.... orbitz, I rely on you for the lowest prices... quite a shock to see the room was more than doubled what was being charged by the hotel themselves... I will never use orbitz again as well...

I really enjoyed my trip to NYC the staff was very friendly. The room was standard but clean. I was disappointed that during our full trip the elevaters did not function. We were placed on the 37th floor and with only one elevator kind of working I had to take the stairs more then once. I did not intend to spend that much time in a stair well of my hotel.

Hotel is A Okay. Decent breakfast, clean room well mostly clean room. Bad part is one elevator is out and have been told now that it has been out for over 2 weeks. I had to take the stairs 3 times going down from the 17th floor which I can live with but my wife is unable to do that and therefore she sometimes waited as long as 20 minutes just to get out of the building. If it was not for that we had a pleasant stay.

Great extras - wifi, breakfast, happy hour; very "green". Comfortable room, nicely appointed. Bathroom could hsve been cleaner. Very helpful and attentive staff. Overall great experience and I would stay here again.

Elevator is terrible. I was on the 12th floor and actually only took the elevator ONCE. Good thing I'm fit! The elevator is unreliable and guests on each floor were waiting...and waiting...and waiting. Most gave up and took the stairs. I had my luggage with me one day and after over 10 minutes of waiting for the elevator, I took my luggage down 12 flights of stairs. Utterly ridiculous. Other than that, rooms are not bad. Hotel staff can be both wonderful and incredibly rude depending on who you get. A mixed bag.

I enjoyed my stay as long as I avoided the lobby.

Incredible customer service and great location. Check in guy and James the baggage handler are pros!

Very convenient place close to everything. The staff members are nice and friendly. Breakfast is super good. Room are clean appliances are new. The lobby needs improvement to make it the perfect place to stay

The moment I walked in I felt welcomed The gentlemen that took our Luggage Great crew

I've stayed here a couple times and highly recommend it for the service, location and ammenities.
