I chose this downtown hotel for our short New York getaway due to its price and it being part of the Hilton family. The financial district may not be for everyone as the streets are more difficult to navigate than those in midtown and uptown. That said, the room was comfortable but small and the furniture a bit tired. The bathroom was clean but tiny. The desk staff was accommodating but the bell staff wasn't always present. The hotel was very close to the subway and several pleasing restaurants. Overall, I felt the accommodations were equal to the price I paid.

Close to Wall St. sites, great restaurants, subway stops and Staten Island Ferry.

Need elevator to access lobby. Gloomy and dark. Needs updating! Their shower was so small you hit your elbows trying to shampoo your hair. Would spend the extra money for another hotel. Location feels kinda like an alley way.

This hotel is almost the nearest one from the port to Lady of Liberty. The room is clean and the service is good. The room is not that spacious, but you know, it is in New York.

Overall the hotel was clean and a good place to stay if you need to be within the financial district/seaport area.

After the elevator got stuck on the 24th floor I walked down the steps and let the front desk know that the elevator was stuck. I gave them the details and the manager said he was going to compensate me for the room, which was very nice of him. Later in my stay we had to call room service to have them change the bed sheets because they were dirty. I want to make sure the manager follows up on the compensation of the room as he said he would.

Bad experience, first the price was not what orbitz quoted, elevators were rediculous, we requested king bed, did not get one Will not stay there again.

The heat in my room turned on at midnight raising the temperature to 80F. I called the front desk and they said they would have someone up right away. Thirty minutes later I gave up and went to the front desk and asked for a new room. The next morning I asked to see the manager (at 8a) and they said the manger does not arrive until later (the hotel was over 30 stories - I cannot believe they don't have a manager on staff at all times). The front desk clerk was rude.

It's in a good location. Steps away from the subway, great area restaurants, and close to Battery Park. The hotel itself was nice,and we had a king bed which is hard to find in NYC. While I would recommend this hotel, I will probably not stay here again for several reasons. One, we were staying 2 nights and housekeeping never came to clean or refresh the towels. We had to call for this and the reason for them not coming, "we were too busy". Second, it took literally an hour from the time we checked for valet to bring our car around. We were leaving earlier tha the checkout time to try to avoid being in rush hour traffic in DC. Needless to say, it added 2 hours to our ride home. If not for these 2 factors, I would stay here again. It was a comfortable room in a good location. But customer service will win out every time.

It can feel a bit crowded in the lobby and check-in, and the hallways in the floors are a bit cramped. The rooms are very close to each other so you hear every door open and close. However the room was nice, everything worked fine and the location is amazing. We were steps from everything downtown. Subway literally right across the street too. Room service was garbage but that's what you get for eating in when you're in NYC! I'd definitely stay here again.

Clean, friendly staff, wish the room was a little bit bigger

The hotel is well located in a safe and relatively quiet neighborhood. With few residents living there, the neighborhood empties out at the end of the workday, and there are few retail snd restaurant amenities. The hotel is fine, but the three elevators are NOTORIOUSLY slow in service of the 44-floor hotel with roughly 10 units from 3-44. Staff are good people and helpful, but articulate and repeat any instructions or decisions to some staff so that it is clear.

Very convenient if you need to be in downtown Manhattan. Hotel is not in a very lively area but for that you will find it is relatively quiet for a NY hotel (no major streets around it). Hotel itself is much like any other Doubletree - nicely appointed rooms, nicely maintained although this one feels a little tired here and there.

This hotel is in a good location at the tip of Manhattan (around the block from the Bowling Green subway stop and the Wall Street Bull statue). The ferries for the statue of liberty are seconds away.

Was assured by front desk staff that a late checkout would not be a problem. When we returned to our room, our key cards had been deactivated. We could not get into our rooms to get our stuff! We see a housekeeper, no figure, no problem she has a master. Nope, she refused to help and feigned not understanding English. We call the front desk and they didn't have an answer as to why our cards were deactivated, we inform them that housekeeping is one room over, they instead tell us that they will be sending an engineer to unlock the door. After waiting 30 minutes, I call back to inquire on the status of the engineer. No straight answer. I suggest again that housekeeping open the door if we show them ID. I tell the housekeeper that I'm on the phone with the front desk, she then pulls out a walkie talkie, confirms that it's us and we're in the room 45 minutes after arriving at the hotel to check out and in danger of missing flight. Also, the rooms have no microwave or fridge.

Hotel was clean. Staff was friendly. Parking garage across the street from hotel but not runned by hotel. Quick walk to the 9/11 memorial and museum, statue of liberty ferry as well.

We spend 3 nights at the hotel and had a pleasant stay. You can reach everything within 20 minutes and Subways are running every 5-10 minutes. A lot of little bistros around.

Had a great time. Suprised my wife with overnight stay in city. She loved the hotel. Great price. Would go back.

Located in Stone Street Historic District, DoubleTree by Hilton New York City - Financial District is adjacent to Battery Park and within a 5-minute walk of other popular sights like New York Stock Exchange. affordable hotel in the financial district

tricky acess to lobby check in!

nice stay nearest to the port for liberty.

This hotel is almost the nearest one from the port to Lady of Liberty. The room is clean and the service is good. The room is not that spacious, but you know, it is in New York.

elevator issue and dirty bed sheets

After the elevator got stuck on the 24th floor I walked down the steps and let the front desk know that the elevator was stuck. I gave them the details and the manager said he was going to compensate me for the room, which was very nice of him. Later in my stay we had to call room service to have them change the bed sheets because they were dirty. I want to make sure the manager follows up on the compensation of the room as he said he would.
