Awesome area close to time square and penn station and great staff.

We never knew what we were going to get when it came to staff. Some staff were super friendly. Others acted as though they'd rather be dead than help us. Also, the elevators were constantly not working when we'd get back to the hotel after a long day of adventures. And as someone with an ankle injury, in a room on the 20th floor, stairs were not an option, so we had to wait anywhere from 5 to over 20 minutes for an elevator that functioned to take us up to our room. With such little time in NYC to begin with, wasting nearly 2 hours (total) for the elevator across our trip was not fun, especially after a long day. It was so unpredictable that we had to also leave extra early at the start of each day just to make sure we were not late for our plans.

Staff was very nice and friendly. Concierge was excellent. Room was ready well before checking time. Room was very clean and beds were comfortable. Bathroom could use a little updating. Hotel location was great.

I did a search of 4 star hotels in NYC. This is not one, therefore my expectations were obviously not met. The walls were paper thin, the bed was short (I'm 5'7" and my feet hung over the end of the bed), there was no mini-refrigerator, the room very small and not attractive. That said, it was clean and serviceable, the workout room was sufficient, and the people who work there were very kind and helpful..

Hotel is nice, rooms very small and elevator takes a long time, should have more elevators

Staff were lovely from moment we stepped into the lobby. Upgrade for our 35th wedding anniversary and a bottle of bubbly.

Nice hotel, nothing exceptional, comfortable bed, friendly staff. Feels like lobby, elevators, and maybe rooms could be spiffed up some. But everything was comfortable and convenient. Reasonable price for NYC Marathon weekend trip.

Clean, convenient location, nice staff. Reasonably priced.

Good location , an easy access to popular places in New York . Will stay again !

The hotel itself is fine for the price. Convenient deli style food service on the corner. Let a cab drop you off at night because there seem to be a lot of vagrants in the area. Also, there is a park across the street which becomes their living room at night.

I wish the facilities and housekeeping were much better. There were issues with thermostat control, elevator servicing to floors, bedding cleanliness, response from housekeeping staff, functionality of the ice machines during sweltering NYC summer temps, size of room, space in bathroom, lighting, etc.

I like this hotel. Although the rooms are small. Excellent staff. The location is 15-20mins walk to the Time Square.

First off just want to say the staff is extremely helpful. We had booked a room with a King size bed only but upon check in was moved to a room with a queen size bed + foldable twin for the first night and into a room with 2 double beds for the rest of our stay. They had also added on a complimentary buffet voucher for breakfast. Secondly, getting around to the subways, times square and other major attractions was really convenient. It's about a 15 min walk to times square and 5-10 minutes for most subways. It cost about 8-10$ depending on the time of the day to uber to times square. Overall, no complaints with the staff or location.. wish there were more elevators. It can get pretty busy sometimes and coming down from the higher floors would take a bit.

Room was small but very comfortable and cozy. I enjoyed it. I find no reason to have a big hotel room as we do not spend alot of time in the room. Our bathtub would not drain, but was taken care of immediately. One negative, which the hotel could not help, is the other people on the floor were very loud sometimes out in the hall. I would definitely stay here again

Great location. Super super tiny hotel. Many floor (27) and only two elevators.

Very friendly staff, close walk to times square and other great attractions. They welcomed us with warm chocolate chip cookies and check in didn't start until 4 and they had our room ready at 12! Loved this hotel and experience. The room was a great getaway from an awesome day of activities.

The rooms are on the small side, but it's in the middle of Manhattan-there is no space! The staff are great, very accommodating and welcoming. The room is clean and maintained. Would definitely stay again.

Excellent service from all staff we encountered. Rooms were spotless cleaned everyday. A domestic occurred in one room on our floor. Security straight on to it.

We stayed overnight 11/29 to 12/1. The rooms are clean and updated, the beds are comfortable, and the bathroom, while on the small side, is also clean and bright with good water pressure and all the expected amenities. Where this hotel stood out for me was the exceptional staff. From the moment I first made contact over the phone to ask about early check-in, until the moment the stellar Bellman put us in our cab back to the ferry, this was the best my family and I have ever been treated by a hotel staff. Kudos to DoubleTree Chelsea. As long as you keep hiring people of this caliber, I will be staying with you.

Close to everything. Clean and comfortable. Staff was amazing!
