Stayed here on a business trip and really enjoyed the stay. Hotel staff were very friendly and the room itself was great. Excellent breakfast choice. Ate in the castaway bar and food was really good although the choice was limited. There was a restaurant on site that looked busy. Central location and literally 5 mins from lime st station. Will definitely be back if in Liverpool.
We friends and I (we are a running club) stayed here for the rock n roller marathon weekend. The hotel was very clean and tidy and has a good restaurant inside and a real quirky one attached to the side too. The reception area is very clean and tidy and the staff are good and helpful too. The rooms were great sizes and have good shower rooms too, there is also tea and coffee in the room too. Walking distance into town which is what we wanted after our races. We were so happy that we reserved rooms upon our return home for next year. Highly recommended
This was a great place to stay for our overnight stay in Liverpool. Free parking is a great bonus . The hotel is situated a short walk from the busy Albert Dock area and it's an easy walk to all amenities. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The restaurant service is excellent and the quality of the food is outstanding . Not expensive for a hotel, I would certainly stay there again. Liverpool has a great night life and we certainly will be going back. I would highly recommend this place, the staff are very courteous and that's important for us. Give it a go you will not be disappointed.
We regularly use this hotel when visiting Liverpool due to its location and the fact they offered free parking. We were expecting free parking on this visit as it was clearly stated on the booking website and still is advertised as free. We arrived and parked the car fine. The very nice parking attendant even moved a car so we could park. At check in however we were told that there was a change to parking at the hotel and it was only free until 1pm on day of check out. We were not told how much we would be charged if we stayed over this time. The next day we checked out and decided to do a bit more shopping. We returned to the hotel at 2pm to leave and this is when we found out how much we where changed. A very expensive £3 for only 1 hour of parking. A lot more than surrounding car parks. And something that may stop me returning to this hotel. We were given a refurbished room however it looked no different to the older rooms. Tip - ask to stay at front of hotel as back rooms are to noisy with the train station
Fantastic location in the city. Free secure parking is a bonus. Very welcoming on arrival and the entire hotel was very clean. Had a twin room on the second floor which was well appointed...toiletries, tea/coffee/ biscuits, hairdryer. Good first impression. Word of advice that if you stay on the second floor the seagulls can try to get in through the window. We had to close window and curtains to deter them. I suggest to management that they put spikes on the window sills. The breakfast was fantastic; great choice and something for everyone. Even though it is next to the train station I didnt hear the trains etc. All staff we met were friendly and professional. I really enjoyed my stay there and for the price it is a great city centre hotel. The only thing that could be changed is the quality of the beds.Adequate mattress but the bed base could be more solid as it made the bed abouncy. Ok for a short stay. I would stay again. I loved all if the cruise liner references. Very well designed. Liverpool is a fantastic city.
The hotel was reasonably priced and very clean didn't have breakfast this time has there was a weatherspoons next door for breakfast but that was horrible Next time I will pay extra and have breakfast at the hotel Staff were very friendly on arrival The only negative was that I had to wait around to check out because they had to get someone to check the mini bar in the room because they said the sensor had been operated so this annoyed me when I said I had not taken any drinks to consume from the mini bar Overall very good Tips get a room on the front away from the noise of the train station of trains and announcements
First time staying at The Liner, and we will definitely come back. The staffed large car parking facilities are directly next door to the hotel. Reception staff were all friendly and helpful. The bedroom and bathroom were both pristine and the bed was very comfy, providing a good night's sleep. The breakfast was absolutely delicious - lots of different choices to suit everyone's tastes. The staff in the dining room were all friendly and efficient in their work. Will definitely recommend to friends .
Stayed here for a family break as it was competitively priced and suitable for families with young children. Highly recommend the cabins for families. Breakfast was very good. Rooms were very clean, serviced every day and staff were excellent. Only annoying thing was the noise of the seagulls in the morning but that's not something the hotel can control. Would definitely return
Stopped here with business. Car park just adjacent. Qwerky ship decor inside, which JUST manages not to be too tacky. Room a decent size with all the extras expected including a pack of cup-cakes. Room overlooked railway station, but no issues 're sound. Good WiFi signal (you need to ask at reception for individual code for EACH device). Ate in the bar, which unfortunately was too loud (music) to work or relax. Had f&c's which was ok (soggy batter). Breakfast is on floor above, and apart from the room being REALLY warm, the food was tasty. Certainly would re-stay. Staff were all very good, especially the young gentleman who was manning the function bar (and showed me to the regular bar) 😁
We love the city, and come to Liverpool about 4 times a year for a night out and shopping. Came across "The Liner" a few years ago and it ticked every box. We have just returned today as we were staying Sunday into Monday...Amazing value at £56 with brekie. Last Friday morning i emailed the hotel asking them if i could have a twin room as i don't sleep too well and also my wife is at the time of her life where she internally com-busts...so as one could imagine, it would be a nightmare in the same bed and probably would get more sleep in the doorway of the train station. I immediately got an email back from "Alex" confirming that a twin room had been allocated for me and placed on the system. After checking in with one of the reception staff with an eastern European accent, we were sent to a double room. We went back down stairs with our cases to explain that i had sent an email and had a confirmation reply from Alex.......she clearly wasn't happy and asked to see the confirmation email on my phone. As i was fumbling about trying to get the email up, she got tired of waiting for me and told me not to bother as she had found a twin room anyway. Well....hang on a Minute.....The Hotel sent the email to me so must be on their system, and i would have been much happier if she had of taken my word for it and checked it herself. (i actually found the email and sent it over to her this morning) I thought she was stone faced about the situation...which was The Hotel's fault and could have been a little polite about things, and an apology wouldn't have gone a miss neither......... and on another matter they did something this time that i have never had before. I have always given them a debit card which they usually take 1p from and then refund back to make sure the card is valid in case one uses the Mini Bar....on this occasion they asked for £25.00......i never, ever use the Mini Bar as we always take our own stuff for the room....not sure when the £25 goes back into the account but i didn't think it was right to be honest......and again on this occasion...we had a room at the back with Lime St Station under the window....i honestly cant think which is worse....My wife next to me turning the bed into an out of control sauna centre, or that insipid woman on the loud speaker telling everyone that the 06.00 to London is on Platform 4. The Hotel is always clean, The location is excellent, the wall's are particularly thin and the staff like the Breakfast are usually amazing......but on this occasion guy's....i feel like i have just eaten my favorite foods that have been in the fridge with a peeled onion...It's just kind of left a bitter after taste
