Couldn’t rate this hotel more! I used to work for an express but this one is great. Lovely warm welcome from Lee, couldn’t have been more helpful, told us where there was to eat and what was about, had a free bottle of wine as it was a groupon deal and got to pick red white or rose. On return from dinner the other man served our drinks - really pleasant. Had our baby with us and was slightly worried, Friday night I thought it may of been noisy- we never heard a thing, place was clean breakfast was fab, proper high chairs( believe me it makes a difference) and the lady on the breakfast shift couldn’t have been friendlier to my child ! (Blond hair didn’t catch her name ) staff are efficient, friendly and make you feel welcome, I hope we can come again !!
As knowsley safari park had the car for £15 0ffer we decided to book a hotel close by and being a ihg member (free) had a look on the app brill price plus the bonus of an xtra 30% off ......the hotel is standard hol inn xpress ,clean, friendly staff plenty of free parking and a yummy breakie it could do with a revamp in the rooms as there a little dated but not that bad shower could do with being a bit more powerful buts thats the only gripe i could find....big up to the night manager who sorted the family who were have a massive argument in the corridor at 2am they all shut up and went quite within minutes of being told we would def return and an amazing weekend for £50 including safari😁
Stayed for two nights Friday 15 and Saturday 16th December . Room was not the cleanest. Went for breakfast on the Saturday morning and the cutlery and plates were shocking. They were absolutely filthy. Breakfast basic and you had to clear your own table. Needless to say we did not go on the Sunday for breakfast. Told the receptionist on leaving and she didn't seen interested. Filled in the feedback on the email they sent me and they did not respond even though they ask if you would like a call and this was 3 weeks ago. Also in the middle of nowhere....dont bother for the price
This was our second visit. The hotel is also located on the industrial estate just off of the m57, near the suites hotel and spa. Lots of car parking. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful, particularly the lovely pregnant lady on the bar.... Breakfast is pretty average, shame there are no fried eggs, and the toaster needs replacing. Restaurant/bar also pretty chilly. Internet is fine. Bed very squashy and could do with more pillows. Snack machine and ice machine in reception - ask bar for glasses to put ice in.... Appreciate the earlier check in as spire elite members.... Like the fact that you can order food at the bar and take it to your room....quality and price ok, and a decent choice of vegetarian food. Found it amusing when we asked for the menu, that we were given two and told it depended on what the chef fancied cooking lol.... Also love the signs to hang on the door, please see my attached pics. Showing a sense of humour that the hotel opposite doesn’t have... Probably would have rated this hotel as good if it was possible for what it is but not very good, hence the average rating. If you fancy a reasonably priced alternative in this area give them a try.....
Changed jobs and new co travel policy isn’t as high £ as previous. Booked into HIE as on budget. Pleasantly surprised. Bright, clean, facilities albeit a bit tired in places. Not as premier as their competitor and food offering not as good a selection. Breakfast OK though and that’s the important one. I’d bring in or order takeaway in future. Pleasant and helpful staff. Happy to use HIE for all future business trips. 😀
We found this hotel at the very last minute online and can not fault it for the price that we paid. Breakfast was included too. On arrival, the staff couldn't have been friendlier, and the reception area / lounge is clean and modern. The rooms are a little dated, but we had everything that we needed for a comfortable stay, and the bathroom very clean. Downfall: the bed is on wheels and not attached to the headboard so if you sit up and watch tv you roll away from the wall. Nothing a few towels under the wheels couldn't fix. However, when rolling away from the wall we found a rat bait box under the bed... worrying?! Breakfast was okay - a good choice. Hot food not great quality but as it was included we weren't too fussed. Overall: a pleasant stay but glad we didn't pay more.
Drove to here from Manchester Airport late evening. It was clean and comfortable and everything i had expected from the reviews and photos. Reception was friendly and professional upon arrival. Room was spacious and comfortable. Internet was good for my work and the location was ideal for business in Knowsley. Breakfast was good and included in the rate. I only stayed the one night but it was everything it needed to be for me.
Nothing much to say, a plain hotel, clean rooms, the staff is very friendly, breakfast is good, with eggs, bacon, sausages, bread, butter, coffe, juices. For the price, is a nice standard hotel, with no major faults to point out.
Stayed here with a large group. Reception staff stand offish when we arrived but seemed to get better later on in the day. Rooms typical of Holiday Inn, expensive for what you get. Room was boiling hot all night but they obviously know this as a fan is provided. My room was next to the stairwell unfortunately so every time someone came through it the automatic closer shut the door loudly and woke me up, not only on my floor but also the floor above me. Bar very expensive but par for the course. No food provided on a Saturday night which baffled the whole group but can recommend The Copper Pot, 5 minute taxi away. They had a very busy night that night!! Breakfast was ok, not very warm though and in a very small area so it was difficult to get to when busy. Wouldn't choose to stay here again
stayed xmas day 2016 night.Good location not far of a motorway. Rooms were comfortable and bathroom clean. Staff seemed friendly ,but hotel seemed not very busy.Breakfast was ok ,cooked breakfast consisted of baked beans ,scrambled eggs and sausage [no bacon]!,also plenty of cold options. Hotel was good and reasonable for a budget hotel.,however I was considering staying here this xmas day only to discover that it has doubled in price to around £90 ,much more expensive than many similar hotels in the same budget range !! Thus I willhave to reconsider my plans., otherwise I would possibly stay here as I have afew times in the past.
