I very impressed with this hotel I've been staying here whislt having day treatment at walton hospital .staff here go out of their way to be polite & helpful ,the hotel is very clean as are the rooms, there is a variety of evening food which is very nice as is the breakfast 😊would recommend to people ,have had an enjoyable stay ,thank you Holiday Inn Express 😊
I use this venue for meetings. The staff at this hotel are efficient and helpful. I have been told that the hotel will be upgraded this year. I have not stayed overnight here but the hotel can be busy. Good location near the motorway.
Visited the hotel recently, and can honestly say it was the worst Holiday Inn experience I've ever had. The hotel is located just off the motorway towards the business park. It has ample free parking to the front and side of the building. Check in was quick however not easy, where they had no idea of my room allowance and no idea of my IHG account despite giving it to the receptionist twice. The room I can only describe as dirty and dated. It looks like a scene out of the 1960's. It had a horrid smell of smoke, stains on the carpets, walls, and sofa bed. There is no air conditioning in the rooms, instead a small fan which is next to useless. The bed side lamp was hanging off the wall by the cables, and the key switch by the door was also loose. Day one towels were fine, however all three of day twos towels were full of stains. The ancient hairdryer can also only last around twenty seconds before it over heats, and is useless till it cools down again. Visited the restaurant area, which is extremely small for the size of the hotel. I had to wait over five minutes before I was served at the bar, as everyone was checking people in. The food was standard for HIE, however was annoyed that despite me ordering first, a pile of other people had their food before me. I'm not a snob but 45 minutes for sling and ping scampi and chips is simply not acceptable. Breakfast on the other hand was a very strange experience, as the lay out of the area is extremely unusual, and nothing is kept together! Glasses are no where near the juices. Cups no where near coffee and well the cereal is no where near the milk. Hot food was fine though and the usual HIE offerings. The staff were just non existent, could never be found or always busy. None of them really wanted to be there, and it was clearly short staffed through out the whole stay. Sleep was very broken, with various noises from the road outside and the doors in the hotel banging until got 2am. Although I accept this is an express, I am used to much higher standards from other expresses I've stayed in around the country. The staff, service and rooms are simply substandard, and its bizarre that they can offer a room rate of £120 per night, when there is another hotel just 100 meters away offering a much higher standard room, service and spa for just £85 per night. I'm not planning on staying in Liverpool any time soon, however when I do it certainly won't be at this hotel. Oh and a week later, despite me giving my IHG account twice, still no points been loaded. So clearly staff don't have a clue :-( PS.. when you do eventually have a refit, can you please put sockets by the side of the bed! 😑
On arrival we soon realised by the receptionists face that our booking couldnt be found,so after waiting 15mins also we were told were had been booked in for may with no apology she shrugged it off and told us cant get the staff,we were obviously given a unplanned room as the 2nd bed was a sofa bed and very hard and uncomfy. The next morning we all went down for brekkie and no one said morning/hello not a word, the staff werent friendly at all, made us feel very unwelcome, very basic breakfast not much variety, when we enquired about things to do in the area the staff werent informative at all even down to taxi numbers etc this hotel is very far out from liverpool centre when we asked how far we were told 15mins its more like a good half an hour or more wouldnt recommend for families at all
Had 2 one night stays at this hotel. On both occasions staff were nice and helpful and the breakfast was excellent. The rooms do need an update though and the bed was very uncomfortable for me. Couldn't get on with the pillows either.
Two night stay midweek for business in area, good quick check in, quiet area room - very quiet at night so had great sleep! Good sized, comfortable bed - clean room. Efficient, friendly staff - only problem: food! No where around to 'nip out to' so stuck with what's on offer, hard to find anything healthy. Veg. Lasagne tasteless. Soup good though with a roll. Breakfast limited but eggs and brown toast ok with Natural Yoghurt and fresh fruit. So not bad, but not great! Will stay again though.
2 night business stay midweek. Quick efficient check in and out. Room on third floor, clean & spacious with good bed & choice of pillows. Good free wi fi. Nice & quiet, slept well. Breakfast was average, not a big choice but tasty & filling. Liked that there were no pointless barriers in & out. Competitively priced. Will return.
Stayed for 1 night in March. Had a family room for myself, a friend and our 2 10 yr old daughters. Room was lovely and clean, 1 double bed and large sofa bed, could not fault it. Bathroom was spotless, with enough towels between us and shampoo and shower gel provided. The main downfall was the breakfast. I know they say it is free, but at £121 for the night, I would still have expected a decent selection of hot food and a clean dining room. Well it's not really a dining room, it's just a cordoned off part of the reception area. We ate at 8am on the sun morn. Cereals available as well as toast and jam. Should have been pastries but the trays were empty and not restocked whilst we were there. Hot food was cold, and appeared to have been standing for ages. Undercooked bacon with so much fat on it, it was inedible. Sausages and beans were OK but when we tucked into the scrambled egg there was a long hair in it!! Needless to say, we made a quick exit. Never saw a member of staff in the 'dining room' to ask for the table to be cleaned or to complain to. Such a shame that this let the hotel down, but definitely not worth the money we paid.
good room, clean warm, fresh sheets and towels, upon arrival, i realised that my room hadn't any bedside sockets, seeing as I'm a sleep apnia sufferer, i travel with a ventilator which needs this, l spoke to Lindsey at front desk and within minutes she had found me a extension lead for my machine, what a star. but the true saint is a member of staff called Theresa, who made the breakfasts every morning ,well on the first day that i wasn'nt leaving before six am. i went down for breakfast but had muddled the times so i had missed it, so i just sat and waited for the next couple of hours waiting to go to work! when out of the blue, Theresa sorted out a toasted sausage sandwich for me, saying that couldn't go to work without something inside me, i was bowled over she is a true saint going that extra mile, well done and thank you
We booked two rooms, one had to be either grounf floor or close to the lift. Both were infact next to the lift. We had a lovely warm welcome at the reception. My parents went to their room, which was a double, with a sofa bed,our was two very generous twin beds. Both rooms were excellant, very clean and spacious, both with very comfy beds. The heating was on when we went in and there was a fan available. The tea and coffee whilst being basic was well stocked. There's also a hairdryer in the room. The bathroom was a good size, with an easy step in shower, there were nice toiletries provided and the towels were large and soft. In reception you can get tea and coffee all day. Breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice of continental,as well as hot drinks and hot breakfst was bacon, sausage, beans and scrambled eggs. We thoroughly enjoyrd our stay here, all the staff were really friendly and very helpful. We'd definitelty go back. Final note Guide dogs only.
