They accommodated my needs well, great place to stay.

Love the rooms in this hotel !! Good cabin vibes and very chill, got a nice beer garden area, staff was kinda rude when I checked in, but no big deal, saw they were selling fresh air hats and asked how much? and the lady at check in just rolled there eyes haha guess they dont like tourist.

This hotel is very poorly rated, it is certainly not worth the price displayed. To solve your problems you really have to fight. We spent 3 days not good at all. Strongly discouraged. 1-The price difference between the reservation and the price announces the day of check-in (70 dolar per night) to have what I wanted I spend an hour anyway !! . 2-Free WI-FI ... it's a lie !! you have and you will never have WI-FI in this hotel..when you arrive there you should sign a paper that some hours the WI-FI would not work following a high number of user saying that c is everywhere the same. it is wrong, you connect to the network, but can not open a page on the internet due to a very very low debit. in three days never open a page on the web! 3- The remote control of the TV has never worked.3 days the same channel, the same program. 4- The room is redone around 5-6 o'clock in the afternoon, never before! We ran behind the maid for 3 days to clean our room. 5-Last day, at breakfast no bread and no eggs !! they had just removed the toast saying that there is no bread and they do not know when it will be delivered! and after the discontent they brought frozen bread, impossible to separate the slices! And finally, although at the check-in I announced that I would pay the bill in cash, at the time of check out I pay the bill in cash and they announce that they have debited the credit card and that the refund will take 5 -6 days 6-Very small room This hotel is probably not worth the ad price

A clean, pleasant hotel with a few unexpected treats: In-room fireplace, several outdoor gas fire pits with nice seating in the courtyard, ping pong, cornhole, and an onsite mini brewery. We were quite happy with our stay, and will likely stay here again.

Excellent location, walking distance to the gondola even if you are wearing ski boots. Nightlife in the neighborhood, the casinos are literally right across the street. They have a bar ("beer garden") that I only saw at breakfast time. Very light breakfast (cereal, waffles, toast) available. Which is fine, but there aren't many breakfast areas around. Me, I would at least have some breakfast burritos available (and there were times I would have paid any price, believe me). I love the decor; modern with ironic twists on outdoorsy themes. Should appeal to millenneals, price is definitely right. Parking lot is a little tight but OK if you have a compact car (and you don't need a car at all from this location anyway). The gas heater works like an absolute charm. Staff is very laid back and friendly. Very satisfied with my stay, would definitely come back.

Don't let the rustic outside fool you. This is a quiet and comfortable hotel. Next to the casinos and Heavenly Valley ski area.

I enjoyed my stay at Basecamp. The location was convenient and the room was cozy and clean. Only downfall is that I was able to hear the neighbors above me when they walked, luckily I had somewhat quiet neighbors. The free continental breakfast leaves much to be desired but overall I was pleased w/my stay.

You definitely get the camping feeling without having to sleep outside in the cold. They have camp fires where you can roast marshmallows and make smores. They have a hot tub where you can relax. They have a great selection of beer. The room was clean as well as the bathroom. Though they were out of shampoo. They have live music pretty much everyday as well as a good free breakfast in the morning.

Skiers hotel! Walking distance to the Heavenly Gondola. Great hot tub, beer garden with live music.

Breakfast could have been better. Need more options other than waffles, cereal and toast. I don't mind paying for extras, but they were out breakfast sandwiches which really sold me on the place on our first visit. Also, parking was almost impossible We got the last spot I don't know what people who got there later than us did. The last thing you wanted to worry about after wrestling with Tahoe traffic for 6 hours is to worry about where to park and have to walk a great distance with big bags.

terrific concept, great touches like the ice chest ice holders and great food and atmosphere in the beer garden. I would return.

Really funky, cool boutique style hotel. It almost had the vibe of a cool European Hostel but with all the convenience of American hotels! Breakfast was simple but nicely presented. Overall, I would highly recommend

Very nice and clean hotel, can get a little loud at night

Very good hotel. It's nice and clean. Friendly staff.

The accommodations are great but the hotel is very loud. The family room beds speak so loud that you can't sleep.

We were two single women here to enjoy the fall colors of Lake Tahoe and enjoy some outdoor activities. We chose this place for the central location and what we thought was going to be a nice place to stay. We were disappointed to find a motel 6 (before the chain was renovated). The stairs leading up to our 3rd floor room had very old torn carpet and smelled horrible (we were told the smell was due to raccoons). Our room's ceiling fan had a chopping noise so we could not leave it on while we slept and the floor creaked loudly (so glad we stayed on the 3rd floor!). Now for what we did like… Very nice and helpful staff. The jacuzzi, free wifi and covered parking was a plus! My bed was comfy and decent pillows. The complimentary breakfast consisted of make your own waffles, oatmeal, cereal, toast, coffee and tea. Overall, I think it was overpriced. I don't think we'll be back.

Our stay was more than expected , clean & trendy we loved our stay , will bring our family on our next trip.

Firstly, I like how this hotel appeared to be geared for young adults and people who expect a base camp experience. The room I stayed at was very small, European motel type of space. There was no AC (and I went during hot season), no hangers for your clothes, TV quality was poor and no cable channels, and the wireless connection was poor. Breakfast was very plain( no big deal for me). They had a waffle maker there was waffle but there was no meat, no eggs provided. Lastly, the was very disappointed with a particular front desk staff who assisted me(PM staff, not the blonde young lady but the dark haired one). She was on her phone most of the time and appeared to be annoyed when I asked for ice. She was consistent on those two nights I was there. For the amount of money they charge people to stay here, I say it is OVER priced. I am sure their business is doing well. Young people won't mind but they should be fair to their customers and have at least a better quality TV, wireless connection, and hangers on their open closet. I will not recommend this place to my friends.

Wonderful stay. Fabulous decorating done to carry out the theme. Will return. Truly a 5 for this hotel !!

Pros- Unique, fun decor, variety of room types, friendly staff, basic breakfast, many spaces to meet up with friends outside of the rooms, walking distance to the beach and many restaurants/nightlife Cons - No air conditioning in our rooms, our first room had a dirty, wet stain on the carpet and we could not be moved because the hotel was fully booked (they did compensate us but we still had to stay the first night in that room)

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments with us about your recent stay at Basecamp. We always value feedback that can help us improve our operations. I am terribly sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations. While it is always our goal to create raving fans of Basecamp by providing amazing guest service in a great location, we missed the mark with your stay. Thank you for your feedback regarding your stay. I have shared your comments about housekeeping to our staff and they are aware of your concern about such a late refresh of the room which we will work on. As you noted WIFI is a slight problem for all of Tahoe and the city of South Lake is looking to work on this issue in the near future. I also have shared your comments regarding the breakfast daily with our F&B team which they are working on as well and hope to have some changes in that area as well. All reservations at the hotel do have an authorization that is taken on the credit card and are released once you check out. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly if you would like to discuss your stay in greater detail.
