The hotel had horrible roaches. I moved to another room because there was roaches crawling in my room only to find roaches in the new room. Also the toilet ran all night.

The property was real nasty the rooms were the bed linen the bathtub the toilet toiletstool was very dusty it smelt like piss

This 'establishment' ran out of towels!!! They tried to give us dirty ones off of the cart. Then, they came up with the brilliant idea of going into an empty room to provide us with some. I didn't know whether to laugh or scream....so I just left.

I liked breakfast and indoor pool. Didn't really care for the bathrooms.

I found the staff to be very accomodating & with great customer service care especially one of the staff from the morning shift ,Mrs Gray. She made my son and myself felt very welcome at breakfast.

Very dated and needs to be updated. Seems like they couldn’t maintain the requirements to meet the La Quinta standards so they went independent.

The hotel itself was clean and nice. The pool was out of order which I didn't know upon reserving the room, disappointing. The front desk staff are always hidden. I had to ring the bell a couple of times before anyone came out. Staff did not come to replenish towels, clean, etc. I had to call down and ask for them and was made to go down to lobby and pick up towels and toilet paper on my own. The entire floor smelled like cigarette smoke which wafted into our room and triggered our allergies. I would not recommend the hotel nor would I personally stay there again knowing there are other hotels near that same location.

Unfortunately I can't give two different staff ratings. Our Saturday check-in was wonderful - the manager on duty was very kind and helpful. When we discovered our room's A/C wasn't working, he fixed it right away. However once we unpacked we noticed that the bathroom faucets hadn't been cleaned in what looked like months, so we worried about how clean the room really was. Sunday after we checked out all seemed fine, but due to a miscommunication at check-in, the person on duty called and was very argumentative, basically blaming us for the error which should have been a VERY simple fix. I found it very disturbing that when I was talking with this person he wouldn't listen to what I was saying, but when I asked my husband to talk to him, interestingly all went well and the solution I suggested and was denied was suddenly OK.

The name on the front of the building says LaQuinta Inn & Suites, but this particular LaQuinta hotel has been newly purchased under the Summerhill Inn & Suites moniker. That's a little confusing if you haven't been there before, but they do have a noticeable banner out front to mitigate the confusion. That being said, it's quite a cozy little space. Went there to take a break from the quotidian lifestyle of work, errands, etc, and really enjoyed the room. It was incredibly spacious and reasonably priced for the 700 square feet room I booked. You could definitely tell that they recently completed a few new renovations, but all in all, everything was usable, and accessible. One of the more memorable things about the room were the mirrors for closet doors. We were kind of taken back by that, being simple city folk and what not, and are now considering a similar installment for our own estate. Without question, I would give them a second visit when I'm in town. And the staff there are very nice and melancholy, in addition to being attentive to your needs/questions/concerns as a guest.

our room was roomy and had all we needed wish the location was closer to the main highway we needed to get to Galveston continental breakfast was good but syrup was oddly missing from the make-it-yourself waffle station

Clean, comfortable, welcoming.. All of the staff were very courteous., . I will definitely stay there in the future. Also, I would definitely recommend it to others.j
