This is no doubt a fun spot for a family getaway, but I was disappointed with two things. The first problem was parking. You can pay $45 for valet or drive in circles around the parking lot for 45 minutes looking for a spot and maybe find something a 10-minute walk away. Really annoying when there's an empty parking garage right there and only a handful of public parking spaces. Secondly, this room was advertised to sleep 5 people but really only slept 3. There was a queen (great for two) and a full-size sofa pull-out bed (maybe fits two). The pull-out bed was so uncomfortable (you could feel every spring in the mattress and bar on the bed) my son ended up sleeping on the floor. That was rather infuriating (and ruined my ability to sleep) considering how much we paid for the room. Come on Marriott, you can do better than that.
Customer service was absolutely horrendous. So bad not even upper management showed any sign of compassion or assistance in any matter. Ordered food and drinks and after 2 hours of waiting still did not receive one drink that was ordered manager showed no willingness to assist or make anything right did not even apologize we had to get up and walk out.
Hotel was run down and service was just awful. Rooms were not cleaned on successive days until after 6pm, I went to manager to help and it was still left with no help. Even then was not cleaned to a good standard. Other parts of hotel were left dirty all trip. For the price of the rooms it was very average and definitely needs upgrading. Should not be a 4 or 5 star.
I called in advance when I noticed two reservations in my name and one was wrong. I was told to contact enterprise who said if will take 3 days to escalate and try to cancel. The hotel charged me for the room and nobody cares at either organization. I am disappointed in both & contemplating canceling an upcoming reservation at the same JW Marriott where I planned to stay for a conference in two weeks. Furthermore, I was shocked that I felt like I was staying at an over priced Kalahari. I had no idea there would be more kids there than Disney when I tried to plan a romantic getaway for my husbands birthday,
Property has good 'bones', restaurants were all very good. Parking was challenging but works ok if not going in/out! Water park was mobbed with people and it was challenging to secure a chair if you arrive after 9am. At $600/night resort fee, there should be a provision for chairs to be available to hotel guests regardless of the time of day they choose to use the amenities.
Very spacious property. It is also well balanced with the natural beauty of Hill Country. It was nice to see deer and other wildlife around.
Away from society on beautiful plot of land
The property, employees and amenities were great! The restaurants were great snd food was delicious, but a little over priced. However, the property is 30 minutes from downtown. The resort offers no transportation or shuttle to and from downtown or the airport, making it a little inconvenient to do things. As a family on a vacation, I don’t think I would choose to stay here, unless all you wanted to do is swim or golf. But if traveling for a convention, I think it would be great. Again, the hotel itself, and the employees were great!
We had a wonderful time at the water park for our grandsons 4th birthday.
One of the nicest places I've ever stayed place was super clean and modern with some nice bathrooms too not the old tub with drape shower set up,little bit more than the norm but you get what you pay for
Everything was wonderful. the pools, restaurants, landscape and rooms.
All was wonderful. Excellent staff. View everywhere was awesome
