After reading recent reviews we were concerned with booking . We used a time share swap. Knowing the hotel was under repair we called Marriott Vacation club and inquired about the status of repairs . We were assured that jus a few minor touch ups would still be underway. That said it was fine on arrival. The rooms were beautiful , clean had great views. Rented our bikes right there and enjoyed Sea Pines. Harbor Town is nice but there is so much more in Hiltonhead. Great restaurants , many side trips like to Savanah, which can be taken by boat from Harbor Town. If u like fresh seafood this is the place to be. Fresh off the boat. Shrimp ,oysters grouper .......u get the idea. Other than traffic on the island we had no complaints. This was our 3rd trip to Hilton head and we plan another. Family friendly..

Back again for our summer week at Marriott's Harbour Club. We were warned about the renovation efforts from last year's storm so we expected the issues we found. Couple the renovation with an unlikely poor weather week and the stay was not pleasant. Renovations need to happen occasionally and the rain isn't the resort's problem so I hesitate to score this poorly although I understand how others would be disappointed. We still had a great suite with a delightful view of the Sound. And were able to reconnect with family and spend more time relaxing inside. When I consider that we could have lost our week altogether had it been during the hurricane, it could have been worse.

Me and my family stayed at this Marriott and were highly dissatisfied. First off it was not Marriotts standards. The hotel did not have even basic things such as an ice machine, vending machines or even a little shop you can buy medicine if needed. The main reason this trip was not relaxing was the construction that went on from 9am-6pm. Sometimes in the morning you would hear the guys setting things up and even screaming at 7:30am. This wasn't just a little construction that went on. This was more along the lines of sand blasting, pressure washing, painting the railings and much more. The pool was closed for the first 2.5 days we were there, and they only had one grill for the whole complex. This place should have been closed and every person that was given a false impression should be given their week back. It was very unprofessional and a lack of respect. The workers knew it was wrong and would not want to bring their families there. So I suggest if you have this place booked in the near future you call and see where the construction is at cause it won't be relaxing.

My family and I just arrived back from Marriott's Harbor Club. This resort is undergoing a major construction project, the likes of which I have never experienced in all of my years as a loyal Marriott customer and Marriott Vacation Club owner. This resort needs to close during this massive construction project. We received an email about a month ago stating that during the refurbishment you MAY experience some construction noise and notice contractors around the property. I am enclosing pictures so you can see the magnitude of this construction and imagine what the noises and the overall experience must have been. You will deeply regret booking here this summer. The sounds ranged from the heavy construction equipment's pounding and grinding noises to the beep beep beep back up sounds and the deafening sound of the sand blaster on our building , actually on our balcony. Throughout the day from 9am-6pm and sometimes even to 7pm, these sounds were so loud that we had to practically yell to each other to be heard IN OUR VILLA.. Wet paint was everywhere. You had to weave through a maze of plastic drapes and construction equipment to get back and forth to your car and room everyday. You could not use the pool or outside facilities due to the debris, noise and spray from the sand blaster. I called Marriott Vacation Club's Customer Service to attempt to get day passes for our family to use the pool and facilities at Monarch at Sea Pines which was a short distance from Harbor Club. They said they could not authorize that. Basically, we were construction refugees trying to escape the dirt and noise. Finally, we called Marriott's Barony Beach which is our home resort. They were wonderful and welcomed us for the week. We spent our days there, as we attempted to salvage our family vacation which was supposed to be a retreat from work and school. Essentially, we wasted a valuable vacation week and were aggravated to the edge of our limits, instead of being pampered and cared for guests of Marriott, which is usually our vacation experience.

As loyal Marriott customer (Resort and Hotels) I didn’t want to write this review after my terrible experience at the Harbour Club. But after taking with Customer Care, I have no choice. I need to start my review with a question…”Are all Marriott guest valued equally?” Unfortunately not! Like the other recent reviews, the resort staff’s concern for their guest’s safety and the quality of their vacation during this construction was non existent (although we did get a lot of lip service). The response from the Marriott Vacation Customer Care was no better. I spoke to other frustrated guests who were in disbelief that the resort was open and guest where paying full price to be there during this construction. Some were notified that there could be minor inconvenience; others were not warned at all. What really added salt to the wound though was that upon leaving the resort I was told by a guest (who was pretty verbal during our stay) that the Marriott Vacation Club gave them (as fair consideration) a free week to anywhere to be used within a year!! I would not go back to the Marriott Harbour Club for many reasons. But, my question to the Marriott Vacation Club is…What makes one guest more valuable than another? I am so glad other people a reviewing the Harbour Club as well because this has been a truly infuriating experience.

This hotel was a complete mess with construction going on all day long. The staff is disinterested and completely apathetic. None of them were pleasant, helpful or understanding of how much of a nightmare this vacation was. Other than being with our family, it was a very disappointing, loud and expensive week. On a positive note, the room was clean. However we couldn't even keep the shades open because there were constantly men on scaffolding right outside our windows. I wasn't going to right a review, but after a week of talking to their customer service back and forth on the phone, it has become clear that they don't care and have no plans to do right by any of the guests they put through this chaos.

I agree with the construction posts. Not good, really dangerous. Today I got to walk into a cloud of dust from the sanding machine to get to my room. A few days ago I got to see how scaffolding comes down. Not good. Did not get to relax in villa or outside villa, Constant beeping, banging, spraying, parking difficult due to several spots blocked off. Poorly managed.

IT sucked they were under construction building was a total mess they were spraying water with sand in it I got wet twice No pool no grills could not see out of the front of the building .called Marriott they did nothing been going here for 28 years never again .they just didn't seem to care

My family has a Marriott timeshare and we've been fortunate to have many great family vacations. This year, we stayed at Marriott's Harbour Town in Hilton Head...our first visit to Hilton Head. For our entire stay there was major construction from 9 to 6 all 7 days (sand blasting, power washing, painting, scaffolding and many workers in your window). There were many hazards including razor blades left by workers, cords every where, wet and messy kept walk ways. Even leaving access to the few amenities available only by stairs. You couldn't use to one elevator because it was always full of construction crew/equipment. All of this was known by the General Manager and Customer Service with no action. The resort agreed it was bad, loud and not a vacation they would want for their family and they were sorry…the work had to be done. This construction is a result of Hurricane Matthew that hit ground October 2016. Work was delayed because the resort was waiting for insurance money. This is not my family’s problem. The work has and needs to be done absolutely...but not at my family’s expense. The pool wasn’t open; we had to go to another facility just to use the pool. They should have done what was fair and ethical for their customers and close the facility or give guest fair consideration. We were advised 2 weeks ahead of our trip that there would be some minor inconvenience. It was difficult for young and old to relax with all of the noise; it was too loud for the kids to nap. This construction may still be going on so I would call before you make the trip.

Our timeshare condo was well-outfitted and nicely furnished. The Marriott staff is friendly and helpful, and the Harbour Club is a short walk to the lighthouse and restaurants of Harbour Town. Our stay was enjoyable, and we would definitely go back.
