The room was a acceptable. The linen was clean. I just expected the hotel to be more upscale. There were no pictures on the wall. Just a little drab. We asked some of the workers if they knew of any nearby restaurants, and they said no. We drove 3 blocks down the street and found several restaurants. The front desk was in one building, and we had to drive to another building for our room. It just felt awkward coming downstairs, and there is no lobby or front desk. The breakfast was good, well stocked, full hot breakfast, bacon, eggs, toast bagels, oatmeal, yoghurt, fruit, grits, cereal, pancakes, boiled eggs, muffins, sausage, etc. The breakfast is Served in the other building which is in walking distance, or they provide a van to transport guess back and forth. The wifi worked very well. Nice view of the pool from our room. We liked the balcony outside of our bedroom.
But is there a bad location at Hilton Head Island? This property is located only a small distance from one of the public beach access areas on Hilton Head Island. Being that we visited in the middle of winter, that was not really a factor for us, but in the summer, would make for an excellent location. Registration is in a separate building from the sleeping rooms. Rooms were nice, modern and the property itself provided a sense of security for our family. Amenities were on par with the brand (HI Express) and staff was courteous, professional, accommodating, and very helpful with local information and recommendations. My only negative would be that we paid additional for a "Lagoon View" room and had a great view out our window of the tops of a few palm trees. I would not recommend paying additional for that side of the building.
We stayed 3 nights for our vacation with our 2 year old son. Check in was easy in a separate building which also had the breakfast area. The weather was cold this time of year but it was still an enjoyable stay. The room we had was a standard double queen with balcony facing the parking lot. We had a corner room which stayed quiet for the first two nights. It was near the stairwell so during busier seasons it might be louder. We were on the first floor which the parking garage was underneath us. With the cold weather it may have made the floor colder but we just wore socks the whole time...the rooms were newly renovated with new fixtures. Room was somewhat narrow and bathroom smaller than most. The sink was outside the bathroom. For three people with luggage it was somewhat small... breakfast was free with hot items such as eggs and biscuits and the cinnamon rolls were great. We drove our car since it was cold to the breakfast area but they do offer a shuttle. Every staff person we met were very professional and assisted us. The third night a group is of young people stayed above us and it sounded like they were wrestling. We finally called the main office and the noise settled down about 11:30 pm. The location is great! Very near the shops, a BiLo within walking distance and a great Cajun restaurant. The Cajun restaurant was our best meal there with reasonable prices. It was a great stay!
We were here for only one night but it was a very good experience. The check-in process was simple and the staff could not have been more gracious. Later that evening there was knock on the door with someone asking if we would like turn down service and chocolates. True, we are here during off season and the hotel was not crowded but this was a treat I never expected. The room was spacious and clean as well as the breakfast area and met all my expectations of a good hotel. I read some of the negative reviews but could not imagine we were in the same hotel. The management may have made changes or the customers were there during a particularly off day but none of the negatives mentioned were experienced by us.
We were looking for a place to stay for a couple of nights Thanksgiving weekend and this place was perfect. Close to Beach, Shopping, restaurants and entertainment. Building is a 5 story building set back from South Forest Drive, with separate Check-in Building. Room was very well appointed with plenty of lights, outlets, WIFI was superb, beds comfortable and Housekeeping was spot on. Both covered and uncovered parking available. Breakfast is included and was plentiful.
It was close to the beach, and very clean. I was there for a wedding, and the staff was helpful and nice. It was a bit confusing that the office to check in and have breakfast was not located where the actual hotel rooms were. It was a short walk away. Good location, walkable to many attractions and dining options.
We bought a 2 night stay through a Groupon deal and for $80/per night, I wasn't expecting much but was pleastly surprised by how great this place was. First off, the location is wonderful! It's a very short walking (about 5 mins, tops) distance to Coligny Beach and Coligny Shopping plaza and there's a grocery shopping complex with a Mexican restaurant, pizza place, and amazing authentic New Orleans style cuisine practically right behind the hotel. The rooms were plenty spacious for 4 people with the double beds plus sleeper sofa and big flat screen TV. It was also very nice to have a microwave, mini fridge, and Keriug in our room. Breakfast was standard and they provide a shuttle from the hotel to the reception building, but we enjoyed the stroll through the beautiful grounds. I will warn you know, there are ABLSOLUTELY gators in those ponds! We saw a few every day and the are active at night but will not mess with you if you leave them alone. Hilton Head is very dog friendly, but I would advise anyone traveling with their dogs to please keep them on a tight least and do not go near these ponds!
We went to the Hilton Head to attend the Concours d'Elegance auto show. The hotel was very clean, breakfast area was large and food very good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. You check in where the breakfast area is and the hotel rooms are in another building. This isn't a problem for us. The Auto Show was amazing with the most fabulist cars. I would definitely go back to this hotel.
Being here in Hilton Head off season in November is lovely. No crowds, everything open, and quick and good service. The Holiday Inn Express is just fine. Two queen beds, a nice love seat, wonderful desktop area, refrigerator and microwave! What more do you need just a block from the ocean! Excellent accommodations at an affordable price!
Was given this 3 day stay as a gift. Not sure what to expect especially since was told on checking in that a shuttle would pick us up for breakfast. Well, shuttle was never needed It was a beautiful 5 minute walk from the beautiful renovated rooms to the breakfast area. The breakfast selections were some of the best we’ve ever seen, especially the pancake machine. The staff was absolutely wonderful & very accommodating. Would definitely stay again.
