Very small room, no sink/vanity in bathroom, dark hallways, restored older building, poorly lighted grounds, very dangerous to be outside at night, over priced, too secluded, would not recommend to friends, checked out after one night.
I would just like to say that this Hotel exceeded all our expectations. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The property was very neat and clean. The rooms were excellent and all the plugs and light switches were easy to reach. The room designers have finally placed plugs along with USB outlets for cell phones and such on top of tables and desks. And finally the free breakfast was excellent with lots of items to eat. And the best is the resort is only 1 block from the beach! Also saw one of their lake resident alligators sunning the morning we checked out!
Enjoyed our overnight stay at the Holiday Inn Express. It was very clean....modern....and convenient to local restaurants, shopping and the beach. And considering the price of most hotels in Hilton Head....it was affordable. Breakfast was included and it was excellent. I would definitely stay there again!
The reception area is not where the rooms are such personally I liked. It gave it a bit of a resort feeling. It's also within walking distance to great restaurants, shops and beach. Some of the restaurants serve great breakfast which is nice because the complimentary breakfast at the hotel is horrible. The rooms are pretty nice though at least in my room there was a sink outside the bathroom and not one in the bathroom which was kind of weird. The rooms are smoke free but smoking is clearly permitted outside of it so don't plan on being on your balcony if you don't want to smell cigarette smoke. This hotel is also not that environmentally friendly and uses bar soap and tiny shampoo bottles instead of just having two big containers, one with liquid soap and the other with schampo. They do this all the time in Scandinavia where they are more caring about the planet and their impact on it.
This hotel has a bit of a strange set up but it did not bother us. The reception and breakfast room are in a building that is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel itself. There is a shuttle but I can't believe that it is used very often as it is a very short walk. The breakfast is very good with plenty of variety and is in a bright spacious room. The hotel building does not have a lobby or reception but does set up coffee in the mornings. The rooms are modern and appear to be recently renovated with comfortable beds but our room was quite small. The pool area is very nice but was not heated. Overall a good hotel, the location is about a 10 minute walk to the beach.
For the price, super good location, 15 mins from the beach. Huge room. Super clean. Free breakfast. Not super healthy but free. Free parking. Comfy bed. Would recommend for sure. Good value for the price you pay
On day of arrival and settling in, a group of 3 coach buses from UF arrived, loaded with fraternity brothers and dates for their annual social and partying event in Hilton Head. Except the party never ended at their venue....continued at the Hotel. That night was just terrible! No sleep. Students jumping into closed outside pool at 1AM. Party in hallways til wee hours. Hotel security did nothing to stop this after multiple calls. They were overwhelmed. And MANAGEMENT KNEW what to expect since I learned from local staff that this happened last year, same time and they STILL allowed them to rebook this group. No sleep. No action on Holiday Inn's part. Ruined my night and day. And, the hotel did NOT inform us they were undergoing a renovation in the hallways, so after the Frat bros went to the beach, the Nail Guns started pounding trim outside my door. No naps allowed either. This was an awful experience and Management should of (1) informed guests of reconstruction and offered discount, and (2) NEVER should allow 3 bus loads of Frat boys onto their supposed family oriented vacation property on Hilton Head. Two (or more?) years in a row. I stay at dozens of HIE's in the US and have never had this experience or lack of support. Don't stay here.
When I arrived at the holiday inn there was no reservation made for me. I had to call trip advisor/getaroom customer service. Took 1/2 hr on the phone to straighten this out! And to think my cc had been charged weeks ago when I booked online. I was very dissatisfied.
First trip to Hilton Head and only could stay one night. I will be back. This hotel was way above expectations. Even though the storms last year took out some trees, they have done a terrific job of making the place picturesque. Remodeled last year I understand and really did a great job. View from my balcony was a cute little pond with turtles. There are also gators in the area, only saw a couple. I wish I had been able to use more of the facilities like the pool, breakfast, shuttle, but didn't have time. The hotel is a very short walk to the beach, restaurants, shops and night life. But the area is still very peaceful and relaxing.
Wow! Very impressed with this hotel! The room was very clean and newly updated. Plenty of room for our family of 5 with two queens and a pull out sofa. Lots of drawer and closet space, with a spot for luggage to keep it off the floor. Across the street from Coligny Beach- cut thru Seaside Villas for easy access. And the breakfast was phenomenal! Lots of choices, both hot and cold. Truly something for everyone in the family. The pool was great for kids- very sunny spot. Two lagoons for alligator spotting did not disappoint! We'll be back!
