Stayed four nights here for a conference at the Gaylord National Harbor. Pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. The room met all my needs (bed super comfortable) and the staff are awesome. Friendly, so accommodating, from the shuttle drivers to the front desk staff - as a solo traveler I appreciated their kindness so much. I arrived the evening before a winter storm warning that caught me by surprise -but staff assured me all would be well and it was. Anything I needed (arranged taxi to airport, forgotten toiletries) cheerfully and quickly arranged. There is a homey feel here that is nice.
Check in was a breeze, we were greeted by very helpful and friendly people. There was one mishap with the shower but once I made it known to the staff the problem it was fixed right away. Loved the stay!
Stayed here to attend conference at the National Harbor convention center. Easy access from airport and to convention center. A budget hotel but comfortable. Overall fairly clean, with a helpful staff. Great buffet breakfast. For a business trip where the trip budget was a little thin this was a great place to stay. Also had a free convenient shuttle service to/from convention center. Would stay here again.
Service/Staff were attentive and friendly. Room was better than expected considering worn look of hallway and carpet. Location not pretty, but for business who cares. Convenient jaunt to local grocery store for any necessary items. Shuttle offered to/from National Harbor mornings and evenings (THANKS!). All in all a good experience for business travel and those who only expect to sleep and have express breakfast.
I found this to be a very nice hotel. I would recommend it to anyone. Their staff is very cordial and I liked they offer a continental breakfast. You will find the rooms to be up to date and very clean. I will look forward to staying there again when I come up for my grandson's graduation.
This hotel is very, very outdated and in DIRE NEED OF AN OVERHAUL! I stayed in a room which had a sink at the door and the carpet stunk of mold! I couldn't stay long because it made me ill. I hated every second of that stay. Good services, but place is awful with mold problem. Stay away from dodgy back lot and weed heads!
We stayed there as part of a tour of DC and found it above average. The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff was generally excellent. However, the breakfast was below average. The juices are watered down. The waffles tasteless. The eggs and sausage bland. On the second day, we stuck with fruit, cereal and pastries, which were good. Still, a good option for DC tours/
I was surprised how clean and well-appointed this hotel was for the price. The lobby was very nice. My room was large, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Over all, I would say this was an excellent hotel for the price.
Me and my family spent the weekend there for my graduation. My partner and I decided to stay there an extra night due to touring D.C. Overall, the room and service was nice. HOWEVER, their true colors did not come out until my car was broken into on Sunday night, July 17th. When reporting it to the front desk, I was told to call the police, which I did, only to be told they, the police, will not come out to make a report. The front desk gave me a number to call, which I did, but had to leave a message. Several attempts were made to contact this individual and my phone calls were NEVER returned. On Thursday, July 21st, my partner received a phone call stating one of my stolen items were found on the hotel grounds and I would need to give them MY credit card number in order to get this item back. When I called the Comfort Inn to make arrangements on getting this item back, I asked them to send it COD, which they REFUSED to do. They said a credit card number is needed because I WAS RESPONSIBLE on paying for postage. I asked the condition of this item, they could not tell me. I asked where the item was found and they replied, "by my car", which is a down out lie; their was nothing around my car, which they should know, because my car was on camera. I do not appreciate being lied to nor do I appreciate being treated like a fool. I was going to head back to this hotel in the future, but, after how they are treating me and addressing this situation, I have no intentions of returning. They have not once reached out to me to make amends or help me in this situation. I recommend others on giving it a second thought staying there, especially since they are not showing any compassion in this particular situation.
My family stayed here this past weekend for my graduation at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center. I wanted something that wasn't too expensive and didn't charge for parking. Through other reviews, I found out that they offered a free shuttle to the Gaylord, which we thought was great. To my dismay, the shuttle only made drop offs between 7 and 9:00 am (on the hour) and then made pick ups starting at 5:30 pm (which works well for business travelers who are there for conventions). I needed a shuttle in between those times, but they were not available. We ended up having to drive to the hotel my sister was staying in, a few miles away and used their shuttle, since it was on call. The room itself was pretty nice. The only downside was a stain on the toilet seat and they gave us brand new towels that weren't washed so they had a chemical smell and left fuzz all over us. Our room had two beds, along with a fridge and microwave. The breakfast was very good with fruit, english muffins, bagels, bread, yogurt, muffins, scrambled and boiled eggs, sausage patties, and waffles. They also had water, coffee, milk, and juices (orange, apple, cranberry). The breakfast area is a bit small, and with only one waffle maker, the wait can be very long, especially when one person decides to make waffles for their whole family. There was an outdoor pool, but we only got to use it once during our 3 night stay as it is only opened from 3:30pm to 8:30 pm. That was a little disappointing because the kids were really looking forward to enjoying the pool more. The wifi worked well. At first we thought it wasn't working, but once it allowed us to log in, it was great. I have read some reviews about the area being dangerous, but my sister and I walked to nearby stores and didn't feel unsafe at all. I guess it all depends on where you live and what you are accustomed to. The front desk staff was very nice; we only has an incident with one person. We got to the hotel around 3 am the night of check in and the lady at the front desk was very pleasant and I was checked in in less than 5 mins. One morning when my husband went to get extra towels the lady at the desk was very grumpy, complaining about how it was supposed to be her day off so she doesn't know why she was there. I think that it is very unprofessional to complain about internal matters to guests. Overall this was a very nice stay and I would certainly stay here again.
