Lakeway Resort and Spa

Lakeway Resort and Spa is a beautiful hotel with stunning views of Lake Travis. Our stay was wonderful and they happily accommodated our request for a room near a friend of ours, which included a room upgrade that they gave to us free of charge. Our only issue was that we were not made aware that, by using a debit card, we would incur a sizable "authorization hold". We ran into another monetary hold on our debit card when we visited their bar. Authorization holds are understandable and are expected within the industry. My wish is that they would have mentioned the hold on debit cards at check in and at the bar. We called the accounting department to sort out the charges and it was a bit of a challenge to get a response. Once we were contacted by the accounting department we were told that the charges were unusually high because they changed systems during the first night of our stay and that the initial estimate of 2 - 5 business days for a return was incorrect and that it would actually take from 5 -7 business days. That being said, once we did hear back from the accounting department, the service that we received was lovely. I would definitely return to this hotel, but we will be using a credit card the next time we do so.

I recently stayed at this resort. Which you have to pay a resort fee for by the way. And the staff was great. Amenities great. But the resort was far from full and I had to stay in a room with a huge stain on the carpet right when you come into the room the first things you see. The toilet made an awful old noise when flushed. I could have stayed at a much cheaper hotel and got a better room. Rest of hotel was great though.

The hotel has no direct acces to the lake and its over rated honestly serms like a 3 star i was looking for a better place

Hotel restaurant food very expensive and it was not good. The room had basic TV channels but no movie channels or movie on demand. Very noisy and for the price I paid; I sure was expecting a little bit more. Will not be going back.

All was good except we were charged a resort fee to use kids zone, water park, and pool bar. Only the water park was open during our stay for limited hours. We only had 1 chair on our balcony and there was a screw sticking up on balcony that we almost cut our foot on.

Great resort. The restaurant was excellent. The room service in a bag was s bit below standards for such a resort. Not impressive.

We were told we could check-in in an hour and three hours later we still were waiting and were told by the same person that they were having a hectic day! The faucet in the bath tub was completely off the spout and when we called room service for a blanket an hour later and no blanket we had to call again! The children staying at the hotel yelled early in the morning and all night long. If you are a couple wanting a relaxing stay this is not the place for you.

Nice place for the family, has nice pools, good view, and deers roam freely there.

A great resort. I really enjoyed the pool and the beautiful views.

Love everything about this place. Clean rooms, Our room had a balcony that had amazing views of the Lake. Enjoyed the Hot Tub. I can't wait to visit again.

The room & view were amazing, we just wished that the pool bar and water activities would've been open. The water slide is what sold us on the hotel and it was a beautiful day, so we didn't really understand why nothing was on. Everything else was wonderful, we were just alittle disappointed with the experience.

Some difficulty combining reservations that was annoying but otherwise great place.

My husband and I really enjoyed our time at Lakeway. It feels like your away from the city but it's quick access to great resteraunts and shops in just ten minutes. Got a chance to layout by the pool and enjoy the view of the lake...very relaxing.

I was here for a family reunion and it was a perfect spot for a such event with hotel amenities and access to the lake right on the forefront.

the hotel was very nice and close to the river however I booked my room and the staff didn't have it ready when I got there and then the room was ready someone else was laying in the bed. After security was called everything was ok after that

Met all are needs very clean rooms nice place to eat on property

6 adults passing through...had a good nights sleep and got to see a new area..wish a quick continental breakfast was in the main building for a quicker getaway..otherwise good staff, and good night sleep.

My husband & I had a wonderful time, the staff was excellent the food was perfect it was a great experience.

Our experience was superb. The only thing I would suggest is a bigger room for the complementary drinks from 5pm to 6:30. We had to stand most of the time. Maybe have a separate room for those who have children. It was rather chaotic with all those kids running around and taking up seating.

The experience was good overall but i found it overpriced. Be aware of the pool bar prices. I had 2 Bloody Mary's and my wife 2 margaritas and we were charged $83 including the reqd 21% mandatory gratuity. There are nicer places with superior service and greater value.

Rachel, thank you for reviewing Lakeway Resort and Spa. I am glad to hear that you had an overall enjoyable experience with us. However I do want to apologize for any miscommunication surrounding your bill and the charges you received. We do our best to be very transparent about this from the get-go and I will speak with my team to see where the miscommunication occurred. I hope that you will decide to join us again for your next trip to Austin. Best regards, Blake Doran

Thank you for staying with us and providing feedback. The resort fee covers more than just the kids zone and I apologize that you were not informed of our hours. Our hours are posted on our website based on the seasons.
