We would have been perfectly happy with the Norwich Inn except that we were woken up the first morning before 8am by a garbage truck that beeped as it went into reverse and droned when it went forward, right beneath our window. The hotel manager kindly gave us a discount on the first night of our stay. He agreed that the situation was not classy enough for such a lovely hotel that costs quite a lot.
Wonderful and classic inn. Great location.
The Norwich Inn is beautifully decorated, has a ton of charm and history, yet is absolutely clean and modern in the amenities offered. Loved the bar and sitting outside in the beer garden. Close proximity to Dartmouth and convenient access to the highway. Was surprised there wasn’t a refrigerator in the room, but didn’t really miss it. Excited to come back!
This place is so charming and the owner is wonderful.
On college visit tour with son. Our room was very large. Front desk person was very nice and welcoming. Ifffered to help with bags. Made sure keys worked. Morning coffee in lobby. Nice continental breakfast options. Just minutes (drive) to Dartmouth college. Watched BB game at Salt Hill. Good beer but a dead zone. Try Molly’s. And Lou’s for breakfast/lunch/dessert!!
Great place to stay, food was great but the meals, soup and tea, and oatmeal, nothing was hot enough. It would not stop us from going again and we should have complained but we didn't. that's the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, other than that I would have
Checked in around 6 pm. The hotel's main building is very historic and our room was in a newish building next door with energy-saving lights that turn out when they sense movement and off then they do not. The room was very spacious. There were 2 queen beds, a lovely carpet on the floor (which was engineered wood), a beautiful fireplace with television over it, and some seating. The bathroom was beautiful and roomy. There was a shower with a half door of glass. We had a small bite in the restaurant at 8 pm., an hour before closing. The staff in the restaurant and at check-in were very nice. We were there mostly to sleep but would definitely return another time.
My husband and I stayed here while visiting our daughter who is at Dartmouth. It was convenient to Hanover and we were both very pleased with the hotel.
Nice hotel convenient to Dartmouth. Lovely living room and friendly staff.
