Great outdoor spaces, nice Alpine chalet architecture
The Lodge was a great place for a family vacation. An unusual and fun feature is the variety of small living rooms sprinkled among the guest rooms each with a blazing fire. These were wonderful places for puzzles and family games. Also the outdoor center had excellent equipment to rent and very helpful Staff.
I have wanted to stay here for a long time. I love the movie and the family’s story and I was looking forward to coming here. Positives: absolutely beautiful scenery and the exterior of the lodge is great. They show old family friendly movies each evening including the Sound of Music (this is included in the cost of your stay). We also got to meet their highland cows and learn more about them (also included). There are several places to eat in the resort or a shuttle ride away. Negatives: the rooms are very dated and most of the activities on their daily agenda is an extra charge. We ended up paying for the Von Trapp history tour which was very informative and interesting, but it was an extra $20 a person for guests and $18 a person for non-guests. I also was unaware that they charge a $110 incidentals fee at checkin. This is given back to you at checkout. While I’m glad we stayed here and I learned a lot, I do feel like I was nickeled and dimed a bit, which was disappointing to me.
My wife and I stayed for two days middle of the week during ski season. Really great place to stay, the food was good, the rooms were warm and plush
The hotel was having work done when we went .We had no hot water in our room .We then moved rooms and our tv didn’t work .when the front desk was told about this they didn’t have any answers or solutions .Very frustrating when spending g so much money .
Spectacular facility and staff. Great hiking and scenic venues
Awful room ... No air conditioning and leaky sink. No refrigerator available.
Don't waste your time or money! Terrible. F- Horrible beds....no support....straw and feathers!! Very bad service in restaurants. Too expensive for what u don't get. They missed the mark for the Von Trapp family. A shame.
This place is amazing. Highly recommended! The grounds are beautiful, and the rooms are unique and comfortable. The family history here is wonderful and it's just a great place to stay. My only regret is I wish I had stayed longer.
Spent another weekend in Stowe and had a fabulous stay. A Great relaxing getaway, that is HIGHLY recommended.
Istayed in the Austrian suite. It was very comfortable and beautiful.
Who doesnt love the Trapp family? Ur it's not reason enough to stay at the lodge. It's dated, no microwave or fridge and the elevator was out for months they told us (yikes climbing four flights in winter gear!). The restaurant menu was so odd... very unusual options... nothing we would order. We love their story and wish them success but fear they won't do well without some updates.
Great experience- although don't go if you're not fond of 'the Sound of Music'! the ski trails are really top-class, food is excellent and staff friendly and helpful.
Beautiful setting with great facilities and an attentive staff. We enjoyed having a light dinner outside at the lounge. Clean rooms and engaging activities even in summer. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Trapp family lodge is very famous hotel as old movie. It is very good to remember when I was young. There are a lot of opportunity to have fun near hotel. Please enjoy at the hotel.
We loved our stay at the lodge. It far exceeded our expectations and we hope to make it an annual trip!
