The room was not clean when we arrived. Specifically, spots on the chairs and and a fairly large gooey red substance (ketchup? semi-dried juice? blood?) under the kitchen table. The carpeting had not been vacuumed. There was no remote for the television in the common area. The bedding was strange-- no blanket but a thin quilted cover that was to act as a blanket. The shower fan did not operate. The surface area around the pool had deteriorated into gravel which everyone dragged into the pool when getting in. There was no clock in the bedroom and a nightstand on only one side of one of the beds. The room was sparsely furnished (e.g., no upholstered chair in the bedroom space; we wiped the stains off of the small office chair). The breakfasts were mediocre and not up to normal Homewood Suites standards. Staff, however, were generally friendly and helpful. While quiet, the hotel's location across the interstate highway from the Strip made walking to any destination out of the question.

I arrived early and confirmed that my room would be available at 2:30 p.m. When I returned to check in, it was already 3:30 p.m., and the room was still unready. I did get an upgrade to a two-bedroom, two-bathroom unit. At first, everything was terrific. Once we lay down on our beds, the pillows and covers smelled horrible, like they had not been changed for a while, so did our blankets. I didn't complain to the front desk because I absolutely love their customer service. It was my second time staying here and my first experience was so much different than this one.
