This is a beautiful property that didn’t deliver. We checked in on a Thursday and paid for a top floor of the hotel. When we got into the room, it was 75 degrees. We lowered the temperature of the thermostat, but the room never was able to get below 74 degrees. I was later told by the front desk that the property was out of power earlier in the week and the entire building was running hot. This was shown when I walked into the gym and it was over 80 degrees, making it very difficult to use. We were not alerted to this issue prior to arrival, which would be what I expect, so that we would have the option to find another hotel. To make matters worse, the first night, the fire alarm went off 6 different times between 12:30am and 2:30am. When I called the front desk at 2:30am to ask what was going on, they were very rude and told me they were working on the issue. When I spoke to other guests the next morning, they said it was the second night in a row where the alarms went off, and it was an issue on higher floors only. Again, a heads up would have been nice prior to checking in. We moved rooms for the second night, and the room was cooler and no fire alarms. Throughout this situation, I was expecting some sort of accommodation for the awful first night. And none was offered. No free night, no free parking, nothing. Instead I was handed the $125+ bill for two nights of parking at checkout. This experience has me questioning ever choosing Hilton in my travels again.
