We had a death in the family and had to grab a hotel last minute. The Holiday Inn Express graciously allowed us an early check-in so we could freshen up before our visit. I really appreciated that they were willing to do this at a particularly rough time. Room was clean and spacious and the gal that checked me in was very nice. Breakfast was the normal fare and Wi-Fi worked well in the lobby. Thanks again!
This is a relatively new hotel, and our room was in great condition. Floors 2 - 5 have two queen beds; floors 6 & 7 have king beds. We were in a king room. I was favorably impressed with the size of the room; it seemed about 3 feet wider than other hotels of this category. Breakfast had the usual Holiday Inn Express assortment including eggs, breads, yogurts, etc. The breakfast area was monitored well and in good shape. Front desk personnel were busy but friendly and helpful. There is free wifi. We picked this hotel because of their pool. Though not quite a water park, it is more than an average hotel pool where there is little room to swim. There is a shallow play area with a slide and other water features and a small lazy river. There is also a deeper end with two swim laps. I loved that I could actually swim without running into people who were just kind of playing in the water. There is also a hot tub. The kids with us had a great time. We plan to visit this Inn again when in Columbus.
This hotel was exceptionally clean, great service and nice breakfast variety and areas were kept tidy and clean. Easy to find. Cleanliness is most important to me and it was clean and rooms are spacious. Not at all cramped.
The room was clean and beds comfortable. The pool was very nice. Breakfast was ok. Eggs were a little hard, but everything else was as you would expect. They had more than other hotels with complementary breakfast.
I waited a few days to post this. I was not happy when I left this hotel and a few days have not decreased my disappointment and frustration. We were booked for 3 nights, we left after the 2nd night. 1st - the pull out sofa is not an actual bed in any way. It is the equivalent to a flimsy box spring. Anyone looking for it to serve as an extra, or needed, bed, it is not a comfortable option at all. We paid $422 for the two nights we stayed in a King suite during a large sports competition held nearby. Room was very big, had kitchen amenities and the King bed was comfortable. I appreciated the Keurig in the room. The breakfast was not good. In making up the very very uncomfortable sofa pull out, the day manager was very accommodating in trying to soften the spring box by bringing extra comforter and sheets - although, they were not helpful. This manager was helpful and very nice - we would not see him again during our stay. When I pulled the pillows from the drawers - one had blood and urine on it. Not a speck, "i don't want to touch this" amounts. When I called the front desk to have more pillows sent up - the female night manager tells me that they are not full service and I will need to bring the stained pillows downstairs if I want clean ones. I explain that might not be in her best interest and it is definitely not something you want to ask a customer to do. Her response was "I don't know what to tell you, I am here by myself and I can't leave so bring the stained pillow to me if you want clean ones". That alone kind of does me in for any return business. My husband took the pillows down (the other pillow had pubic and long hairs all over it - Seriously - what are people doing to the pillows here!!!) She didn't even bother to say thanks for carrying stained pillows to the lobby. **Multiple cars were broken into during our stay** Apparently this is common at the hotel during the sports competition we were there for. After the 1st night when there were multiple break ins - no one from the hotel gave us any warnings. Another parent stopped us in the lobby to tell us and we all worked to inform the other families. After 2nd night - I came down at 4:30 am to cancel our 3rd night. I had to wait 30 min for the same night manager could be woken up from the opening and closing of the lobby doors. She was asleep on the couch in the dining room. A security officer stopped, came in, looked around and left when he couldn't find her. After walking in and out of the doors, thinking the noise would finally wake her, she came out and said "Did you want something" Why yes, yes I do... This was NOT a good experience. I did not feel like my belongings were safe. I did not feel like a customer - I felt like an inconvenience at the cost of over $200 a night while my son slept on metal springs. Never again.
The place looked really cool and stylish online - and has a lot of potential to be a cool hotel. I stay 100+ nights per year and none of them are at Holiday Inns - and here is why. Front desk person would be great as a bouncer but makes for a terrible customer service person. Pool was dirty at 10pm, and still the same exact filth 2 days later at check out. Was not told about rate change before committing to stay (was a walk in) Hallway was dirty for over 24 hours - pile of crushed crackers outside our door. I cut my foot in the pool area - front desk "bouncer" said "talk to the manager, I don't deal with that" I'm guessing that was an apology in his language... Wont go back - even with kids - just not worth it.
Had the pleasure of staying here for a couple of nights while in town for business. Staff was friendly. Breakfast had several options to choose from. Room was clean. All around great place to stay. Thank you for taking the time to speak to me, Manana (apologies beforehand if I misspelled your name). I'm a simple man so small details like that I think make a difference.
Really enjoyed our overnight stay as we drove through from Canada. Clean room, friendly staff, great breakfast options. Just off of the highway. Would definitely plan to stay here again if in the area.
Nice Hotel close to shopping and restaurant. Comfortable beds. Pool area was not what was expected, picture on website showed a slide but it did not exist. Breakfast nook sufficient. Front desk staff very nice and helpful. Overall very nive hotel would stay here again.
I stayed here with two of my children while visiting my daughter in college. The pool area is the best and kept the kids busy for hours. Breakfast in the morning was fabulous as well. We really enjoyed the cinnamon rolls! The room was very nice and modern. I usually stay at the Drury because I like their evening kickback and the drinks and popcorn offered. However after staying here I may have found my new favorite place to stay in the Columbus area!
