Renaissance Columbus Downtown Hotel

My husband and I were married at The Renaissance Columbus and decided to celebrate our first anniversary by staying there for then weekend. When the front desk staff heard about the occasion, our suite was upgraded to the presidential suite!! The staff and hotel were absolutely amazing on our wedding day, and this stay proved to be just as wonderful.

The hotel was very expensive. I was quite surprised to have mold in the shower. For the price I paid for this room I would not expect to have this be present.

While the hotel itself was good I was disappointed in the fact that there was no WIFI or breakfast included despite the expensive price tag. Other than those not being included it was fine.

Beautiful and CLEAN hotel. Location was alright, but did require us to drive to Ohio State and neighborhoods we wanted to visit like Short North. Staff was incredible- so friendly and helpful! We traveled with 5 month old twins and the staff was overwhelmingly helpful in making our stay comfortable!

Hotel was nice and clean. great location downtown. Only problem was the bathroom was TINY. Could barely squeeze in. The door actually folded in half in order for it to open

We love this hotel. Very comfy and the staff is always friendly. Great location downtown.

Clean hotel. Great service. Highly recommend. And that's saying a lot as a Michigan Wolverine!

Everything cost extra but it's top notch, if I go again I'd aim for that place for sure

We stayed overnight and had dinner at a nearby restaurant. Valet services and the other staff were great. Room was not very clean, notably the carpet had not been vacuumed and not all surfaces in the bathroom were wiped down. Hair dryer was not working. I would consider this place again only if the convention center hotels were full.

Room was nice and clean Great bar Great wait staff

Hotel and rooms are beautiful. Booked the "romance" package as it was our honeymoon. It was supposed to include a bottle of champagne waiting in the room and complimentary breakfast. No champagne waiting upon arrival. The restaurant was the bigger disappointment. Very disorganized. There were no breakfast vouchers so had to inquire multiple times about how to "redeem" our complimentary breakfast. We received no menus but witnessed other tables sat after us with menus. Our server basically pointed at the buffet inferring that was the only option. Buffet food was mediocre. Omelet station was okay. They were touching the ingredients with bare hands and/or using one spoon for all the separate ingredients. As we were checking out our server brought our receipt to the front counter to give to front desk Attendant...seemed kind of weird that she would need to leave the restaurant and walk across the lobby for any reason. Then we had to pay $25 for overnight valet. Like I said previously, the hotel and rooms look nice but overall a pretty disappointing experience.

Wow! I never sleep all night this bed was Like being in heaven.

The staff was friendly but on one of the two beds, there were random hairs that were not mine.

Valet was great and very friendly. Room was very clean and comfortable. Room service was another situation. I called to get three meals and three cups of coffee. I explained to them that our coffee pot was missing a piece and they did not offer to bring us a working coffee pot or to give us coffee to replace the coffee we couldn't make. Maybe the room service is not directly affiliated with the hotel but the girl I spoke to completely ignored what I said about the coffee pot. She could have at least told me to call the front desk. She was kind of rude. The gentleman who brought up our room service was very nice, even though he only brought up two waters and two sets of silverware for three meals. I do not enjoy giving bad reviews, but when I'm spending $200 for one night, I would at least like to get a cup of coffee and enough silverware for my guests.

I came to Columbus from Akron Ohio for a weekend getaway and meet up with friends that relocated here. This was the perfect HOTEL , great location ,and excellen staff. The bartendars are nice and very generous.

We were asked to pay an additonal rate of $250.00. Part of that was suppose to be for a refundable deposit. Although we had paid online they did not show the credit card information and we had to pay again. When we checked out the following morning and the error had been corrected no one apologized. There was not any offers of a discounted room for our I convince. The front desk was awful.

Of the many positives this hotel offers, the staff is absolutely the high point. We were greeted warmly by everyone whether at the front desk, restaurant or in the halls. I can't speak for the pool since we stayed in December, but the work out room had a sauna and ample treadmills / weights. There were even complimentary earbuds in case you forgot your own. The downtown location is close to the Atheneum and walkable from the new Convention center. We walked to the Near North, but I'd recommend a cab for most people.

We drove up from TN to see a couple of hockey games. The location was easy to find, and located close to everywhere we wanted to visit. The room was great, and the staff were excellent. The only thing that could have been better is if we had been notified when we were booking our hotel, that we would need to pay $23 a day for parking. It was reasonable. We just don't like surprise charges.

I have an excellent time at the hotel. The accommodations were a complete surprise much nicer than I expected and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The young men assisting at the front door were super friendly. When I go to Columbus again I will certainly stay at the hotel.

Friendly staff, carpet in the room needed cleaning badly
