Homewood Suites by Hilton apparently in a dual venture associated with Hampton, as both names were in the building, with two separate check-in counters, but each counter served reservations with either: On the second day an alarm in the room and the hallway went off with an announcement that an emergency was reported in the building and everyone should leave the building and NOT use the elevators. So we and our disabled (but fairly ambulatory) child walked down from the 8th floor to the lobby where we were told "It is just a test". Really? With no advanced notice? And yet the announcement kept blaring for another 20 minutes? And guess what? It happened again later that day, and when I tried calling numerous telephone numbers in the facility NO ONE ANSWERED THE PHONE!! So of course we went down to the lobby - though this time taking the risky step of using the elevator. And there a uniformed person explained (with a smile!?) "It looks like a smoke alarm might have gone off". This time the announcement only blared for about 3 minutes. But there was no apology, no explanation from hotel staff, and never was any ALL CLEAR announced! Could there be anything worse than a potential safety risk of this magnitude to be handled so feebly in a high rise buidling???? NEVER AGAIN WILL WE GO TO FACILITY ASSOCIATED WITH THE NAME HOMEWOOD, HILTON OR HAMPTON!

Decor is dated but clean. Strange check-in procedure. I arrived 20 min before check in and was told I had to wait to check in but others were allowed to check in. Pet policies and ? extra charge weren't clear. There are not convenient areas to walk a pet outside for potty break.

The staff was incompetent and blatantly lied to our Expedia rep about our situation. They claim they gave our family of 6 a rollaway bed to accommodate two teenage boys when in fact they didn’t have the room we booked, it had chairs instead of a couch and we ended up having to purchase a SECOND room for almost $300 extra and split up the family. I wouldn’t be as grossed out if we’d have been offered a discount or they at least admitted the situation. But no, they flat out lied. Do yourself a favor and go to a Marriott. I won’t be using Hilton again. The service was sub-par, the rooms were mid and the staff had no clue what they are doing. Customer service isn’t a priority here.

The shower was dirty with hair in it upon arrival. The walls are super thin and you can hear everything. The parking garage adjacent is a nightmare and the elevator does not work. So you have to pack luggage and everything up and down stairs depending on what level you have to park on. Would def not stay here again, there much better options at the price of $250 a night which is what we paid.

The first room we checked into was not actually clean and ready. There were no sheets on the bed. The front desk staff found another room and we checked into that one. When I went to wash my hands in the bathroom, the top of the pump for the hand soap and the hand lotion were so dirty that I had to clean them. They were covered in what was probably make up. The shower was so poorly designed that water just leaks out onto the floor. Even turning on the shower is hard because you have to reach around and pretty much stand in the cold water while you get the water adjusted. The front desk staff was extremely nice and accommodating. But the hotel is definitely in need of renovation and probably a better housekeeping staff.
