There were 6 elevators, which should have been plenty to keep up with the crowd but only approximately 3 were running which caused long lines anytime you needed to leave or arrived back. The check in line was the largest wait Ive experienced in all my years of travel.

Had to go to the front desk 3 times before I got the correct room and keycards. Front desk, house keeping, guest services did not answer the phone for greater than 7 minutes. We had 2 pull out beds in the room. When asked for sheets only one set was brought up.

While the hotel and staff were accommodating and nice, we paid for a king jacuzzi room and experienced no hot water in the jacuzzi, making the upgraded room a waste of money spent.

The motel had no hot water during our stay, which made it very uncomfortable for our plans we had. Also, the sofa bed was broke, and it resorted to a member from oit party sleeping on the floor. Was told to contact hotels.com for a refund.

Overall a very nice 2 night stay in this classic hotel @ very inexpensive rates for reasons I’m not entirely clear. The reason it’s not a 5 star is because we called the front desk in the mid morning to report (1) our shampoo bottle was empty in the shower and (2) there was a reading light - light bulb - out by the bed. We were assured this would be handled during the day. We returned 12 hours later to the same issues!

The location was perfect for us. We could walk or take the free trolley everywhere we wanted to go. Only one staff person was helpful- the hostess at the restaurant acted as a concierge and gave us maps and directions. The front desk clerk when we checked in was NOT helpful in the least. Did not even tell us we had to use the room key to use the elevator or where to find baggage carts. Our room service tray from the first night was still in the hallway 2 days later. It took over 10 minutes for them to even answer the phone to place an order. Maid service was good.

This property needs a MAJOR RENOVATION! The Staff was very lack luster and were not able to help me with finding a blanket or connecting to the WIFI. I moved rooms twice to properly connect to the wifi but to no avail, I was never able to get on the internet. All of the shops in the basement were vacant. The hotel had potential but for the price I paid, potential isn’t enough.

This hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of the Duke Energy Convention Center. However, entry is not easily accessible due to the one-way streets and should you enter from the valet side you have to navigate up some stairs with your luggage. The hotel is outdated and in desperate need of a remolded. The furniture is stained and dirty; the phone jacks and wall outlets are dirty and filled with dirty/dust; the walls are dirty and showing signs of water damage. In addition the base boards haven't been swept in ages and are cracking. Housekeeping serviced the room but failed to leave linen 2 of the 3 night stay nor toilet paper. The only bright side to this stay was the friendliness of the staff and the comfortable bed.

Clean but overpriced .
Bell stand staff were exceptional - they were very helpful in getting guests in and out of the hotel. Hotel is clean but outdated and my room was small ( think Manhattan sized hotel room). Next time I will look more closely at other hotels in the area given that the rates for this hotel are comparable to others.
