Great hotel within walking distance to all of the museums and monuments. Breakfast was included and had a good variety. Room was clean and comfortable. CVS right next door and Starbucks very close. We will definitely return to this hotel.

I would highly recommend the Marriott Residence Inn Downtown in Washington,DC. We wanted to take out granddaughter to see the capital but the hotel prices were out of sight and beyond our budget. We found the Residence Inn and found that not only was it reasonably priced but it included breakfast as well. We enjoy staying 4 days here and by any measure it was superb. a. Breakfast was very good, plentiful, and presented in a wonderful way by the hardworking staff. b. Room was large, just right for the 3 of us. c. Room was clean, bright and well kept up. d. Staff was prepared and very willing to help in any way that they could

Overall I had a good experience. The room was clean and the staff was excellent. The room's AC unit however leaked and the floor was soaked. It took 2 days to get it fixed. I could not change rooms because the hotel was booked solid. The other parts of the hotel were a bit on the warm to hot side. I think the building's AC was not working correctly the last 2 days I was there. I feel bad for the staff as their rooms were hot as well. All in all I think these were temporary problems however I didn't think a hotel as large as this would have these kinds of problems.

When we pulled up, nobody was there to help unload our luggage. When someone finally came out, they said their garage wouldn't fit any car over 5'8 and advised finding another place. The room smelled musty and the AC made a lot of noise. The phone had buttons to call the front desk or housekeeping, but nobody answered, just silence for two minutes then a busy signal. It was also hard to find a bell cart at checkout, and there were no ice machines. I had to ask the kitchen to get me some ice.

Close to attractions... Easy to walk to sights... Very friendly and helpful staff....Very clean room...Will definitely stay there when we go back!

Hotel was fine.....little disappointing entry way. Lobby, nothing special. Hotel itself was clean, staff very friendly, nice to have am breakfast. Would have like to have happy hour on Thursday, but only M-W. Probably good price for location, which was great. In town for Rock and Roll Marathon, daughter ran. We traveled around DC trying to catch up with her. City had too much litter and lot of debris from past icy/snow weather. Sure will clean up in next few weeks. Would love to go back. Plenty things to do and places to eat. Ate at Maddie's Tap Room, poor service. Also, Hank's Oyster Bar...great.

In perfect place to go walking around the parks on Washington D.C.

Excellent experience. It was in the middle of down town.

I stayed here for a week with my husband to attend a conference and to sightsee the museums and national buildings. I would stay again and recommend to family. We did not use a car. We were within a mile walk of most everything, which is fine for us. There's also a metro stop within a quarter of a mile if you prefer that. I only used it to get to the Regan airport on my last day (took about 15 min and was about $3). The room was comfortable and there was a 24 hr CVS downstairs. Shower was dirty, but I travel with a magic eraser sponge so it was quickly remedied. Also wiped down the room with disinfectant wipes. There were plenty of restaurants in the neighborhood. No obvious crime, but there was a guy peeing in the alley and plenty of panhandlers around the whole neighborhood. The hotel has AWESOME breakfasts everyday and on Mon-Wed a light evening meal. There's no oven, but otherwise the kitchen is complete. We only ended up using it to store sandwich fixings and fruit for our sightseeing days, and to cook one dinner.

Hotel was great generally. Downsides: No airport shuttle. In a business-type district with not much nearby.

Enjoyed my experience, however brief it was, at this hotel. It was nicely located near the McPherson Sq Metro station, which made for convenient walking. The room was very comfortable, and full complimentary breakfast was served in the am. I would definitely recommend this for the business traveler.

I loved the location because its close to all the site but we had few family dining experiences nearby. Everyone but a few of the front desk staff were very nice. My daughter and grand daughter were bitten twice on two nights. We asked to have the matter resolved it did not happen again. The shower fixture was not affixed to wall I had to complain twice before it was fixed. Breakfast was great and is included. The doormen or bell staff were outstanding all of them. The room was very dated and worn. They are in the process of remodeling but did not put us in an updated room away from construction. They should have but they didn't. We heard hammering and drills a few times during the stay in nearby rooms. Maybe it will be better after the remodel. I would not stay here again.

No parking available for my suburban. Did not clean room leaving beds unmade, dorty towels, etc. Good breakfast.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is right next door to a CVS and within walking distance to the McPherson square metro station, Whole Foods, and great restaurants and coffee shops. The free breakfast is amazing - with a huge dining room - and there are free dinners on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights, which is great for families and travelers on a budget. Each room was very clean and nicely laid out, with a sofa bed, two table surfaces, and a kitchen stocked with plates, pots, pans, utensils, etc. I will definitely come back!

Easy Check in and Out. Friendly Staff with very helpful hints. It was very comfortable for a down to earth or family traveler. If you spend your life in 4 or 5 star hotels - where they provide everything you don't need, then this isn't for you. If you want a comfortable, clean room with a continental breakfast, a small kitchen in your room, and a good location, then this is it. There's a CVS next door, a 7-11 and Starbucks across the street. You can walk to all the Downtown DC sights. White House; 3 blocks, to the Capital;15 blocks away. We hopped the Metro Subway and went to the National Zoo. Consider using the underground metro. Locals and tourists alike use it and we didn't once feel uncomfortable. I don't think we ever waited more than 5 minutes for a our train. We bought one week passes online and zipped all over DC with ease. Gets you out of the weather if its bad also.

Location is great, the breakfast is really good, do not sleep on the sofa bed unless you are a teenager.

We got a great package deal to fly to Washington DC in winter time, so we were going to the Marriott Residence Inn sight unseen. The hotel isn't super flamboyant on the outside, but is neat and nice on the inside. What really made this a terrific stay was the cleanliness, the food, and the superior staff. Every single staff member is helpful, direct, kind and enthusiastic. This includes the desk, the housekeeping staff, and the folks in the breakfast room. We never had such friendly, helpful staff around us! They have home made cookies out on the weekends. And the breakfast is an excellent value. All manner of muffins, breads, toast, bagels with spreads of all kinds. Homemade waffles with anything you want on top from syrup to fruit to nuts and cream. Eggs, home fries, scrambled veggies, sausage. Juices and fruit....it goes on and on. The hotel is kept very, very clean despite the influx of wind and snow. It is quiet and away from huge crowds while still being only 3 blocks from the McPherson Metro stop (5 minute's walk). From that metro you can access the greater Washington DC area in moments, so we visited all the monuments and museums (almost all of which are free) from the Metro. From the hotel you can also walk to Dupont Circle to shop, go to coffee places and hang out, and there's an organic grocery store there. Since the rooms have a kitchen, you can cook (which we did--sightseeing at night is not so great in the winter, so we came home and made dinner). All these things together made a very affordable but luxurious stay for our family of three. The housekeeping adapted to our late schedule (we came from the West Coast, so got up sort of late every day) and had the room spotless every day. The beds were very comfortable and the room very nice. I would heartily recommend the Marriott Residence Inn and will look for them on our next trip.

Perfect hotel! Not only it's location, but hot breakfast and even provided nacho, dip and salad during my stay in Thanksgiving. Great staff solved my problem. I definitely will recommend to all my friends.

This was our first stay with Residence Inn by Marriott on Vermont Ave./Washington DC and we weren't disappointed. Upon arrival, the front desk lady gave us a choice of a smaller room overlooking the street or a larger room facing an office building. We chose the latter and it had what we were looking for: a complete kitchen, clean bathroom, flat-screen TV, and a comfortable queen plus a sofa bed for our son. The daily complimentary breakfast had generous hot & cold offerings and you could eat as much as you wanted. Definitely a great place to stay in DC at a great value!

Nice restaurants within walking distance. Easy access to the metro (blue line and red line). Fully equipped kitchen is a great value to families with small children. CVS is just next door. Very convenient.
