The staff overall was very friendly, but the hotel had too many downsides to ignore. When I checked in the toilet was clogged, which I didn't notice till I got back for the night and it had flooded the bathroom. The front desk was quick to come fix it- though did not clean or provide replacement towels. The parking is either behind the hotel or in a garage, which the first night wasn't lit so felt really sketchy. Every other night there were plenty of lights so not sure if the first night was just a fluke. Housekeeping knocked on my door repeatedly despite the "do not disturb" on the door, and once actually opened the door only for the chain to catch it. Lastly, the front desk agent said my room number out loud in front of other guests. As a young woman traveling alone this is not a great situation and left me feeling uneasy. The hotel is older but clean and location is very convenient, though as a single traveler it didn't feel like a good choice.

I met three shifts of front desk stuffs and all are very enthusiastic and helpful and efficient. When the cap I requested didn't show up on time, the stuff made phone call right away to verify the status, even before I ask. I was taken very good care there. As a foreigner I feel grateful about this. I took a two bedrooms suit, which is cozy and clean, comfortable enough to me. The only thing a little bit disappointed is the building itself is relatively old. Overall it's a nice place to stay nearby Tampa International Airport.

I evacuated to Tampa to run from Hurricane Irma. After driving from Miami for over 8 hours, we were met by a front desk clerk named Jerry who was smiling. He was so calm and helpful even though there were many late check ins who were harried evacuees. Jerry had such a positive attitude as he calmly handled the crowd and told us where to park, he brightened our day!

My stay did not start well. It was very late, very dark, there was no clear signage at the front entrance and there was no parking anywhere near the hotel. I parked illegally and ran in. Front desk staff was busy, on the phone and attending to another customer but eventually explained that there was a parking garage across the street. I wasn't too happy about parking and walking alone, but he assured me it was safe. When I returned to the hotel, I checked in and asked about food. Wrong question - there is no restaurant in the hotel. I bought a bunch of junk food from the front desk store. The selection was terrible and very unhealthy but at least the mark-up was not excessive. Finally made it to the room which was a suite with a full, well-equipped kitchen, large closet, desk area etc. Everything was in working order and clean. However, the decor had a low-budget look. The red and dark wood color palette was certainly not restful or uplifting. A pleasant surprise was the Paul Mitchell products in the bathroom. The immediate (walkable) local area is pretty depressing with nothing whatever except other hotels, surface parking and parking garages, one free standing restaurant and a spine clinic. Breakfast the next morning was adequate. This hotel is just average and would suit someone who 1) wants to be near the airport and 2) likes/needs a suite style room with full kitchen and cooking facilities.

Had an Ac issue but was rectified the next day. Breakfast isn't nothing to call home about. Clean rooms nice staff. Parking is trick at least and there is a lot nearby to do malls, restaraunts and beaches

I was having a bad day. I was tired, agitated and quickly losing the heart to keep fighting. I had flown from the UK to Los Angeles for a short 2 days then taken a red-eye to Tampa. That flight was lated and landed even later due to air traffic control issues. At the airport, I had trouble renting a car that was not reserved in my name or with my card but that I was listed as the driver of. I was so behind schedule I missed one appointment and stood to lose another. I was able to get the rental car just in time but not in time to miss the torrential rain. I had been without meaningful sleep for about 48 hours when Tyler greeted me. Again, I was scheduled to stay at the TownePlace Suites but yet again, not made in my name or with my card. Tyler questioned me and my reasoning (as he should) but was incredibly friendly and tried to be as helpful as possible. He didn't have to let me check in, and I could have waited in the lobby until the others traveling in my party arrived to corroborate my story, but gratefully it didn't come to that - did I say I was so, so tired? Tyler helped me to check in and even gave me a plastic fork with which to eat my Chipoltle. I finally had food and a bed and for the first time in the day could stop and breath. A plastic for has never made me so happy. After spending some time in the room there was a knock on the door. It was Tyler, still smiley and happy with a gift bag of goodies and a hand-written note to help cheer me up ( I must have been in a really sorry state). Again, he didn't have to go the extra mile to make a bad day better, but he did. Whatever you need, this hotel will help you get it. Highly recommend.

For a Marriott branded hotel, this place is small. Also, it's all red! The lobby was very squeezed, and it was especially squeezed in the hallways. I don't know if there is another elevator in the back, but we only encountered one. Overall, decent place.

This was the perfect place for quick overnight business trip. I checked in late around 9:30p and the young man at the front desk (Tyler) was very courteous, professional and efficient. The room was a studio Queen and had a full kitchen complete with dishes, cutlery and a dishwasher. There was a two burner stove but no oven. The furnishings were very up to date and comfortable. The bed was the perfect combination of soft but firm enough. The room was very clean and more than spacious for one person. Parking was free as was a delicious breakfast in the morning, complete with eggs, sausage, waffles, fruit, cereal, bagels, toast, muffins, juice, coffee and yogurt. The hotel is across from Tampa International airport and they have a complimentary shuttle. The surrounds were very safe with plenty of upscale restaurants within 1/2 mile. I booked with my Marriot points which was ideal as this is considered a tier 3 and only cost 15000 points. The room rate without points was around $140-160, which is why I did not give five stars. I would put the fair market value around $110-120 a night. Which you may be able to find on Trip Advisor, Expedia, Priceline or another travel site. All in all I would highly recommend for solo business travelers. A larger room would be ideal for couples but I am not sure if I would recommend for families with small children.

If you need a reasonable place to stay for a wedding - this is the place!!! My daughter was married at the Tampa Aquarium and we had numerous family members flying and driving in to stay for three to four nights. Free ride to and from airport. 20 minute drive from downtown Tampa. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Our suite had two large bedrooms with double queen beds, a living room with sofa pullout and sitting chairs. Kitchen had a table, full size stove, microwave, dishwasher and a fridge big enough to handle the wedding cake!!! The bathroom was not big enough for six adults but the sink was outside the tub/toilet area so at least people could brush their teeth while someone was showering. Bathroom was only reason I could not give the room a five star rating. Breakfast on main floor provided. Pool area had seating under umbrellas for the smokers in our family. Half the price of the downtown hotels with larger rooms. And, they allow pets. Parking is the only thing that is a little tricky (don't park behind the hotel behind the fence). Easy to get on I-4.

Stayed here on a recent business trip to Tampa. The place is close to the airport. The hotel is clean. Plenty of restaurants but withing 10-15 mins drive. I would stay here only if I need to be close to the airport else better options are there
