Hyatt Centric Santa Barbara

The location is great, walking distance from the beach. Very friendly and helpful staff. Pet friendly. The room was nicely renovated, but it didn't feel comfortable enough because of the hard beds and loud AC. Also, the room didn't smell and clean.

Needs to be remodeled. Ok place, but would not stay again.

Great super-nice people here. The bar by the pool is a nice touch.

Good location within walking distance to the pier and State St (well, long walk, but still...) With the exception of some mold on the shower curtain, the room and general areas were very clean. Room size was fantastic, especially for SB. Paper thin walls ruined it for us with two much noise coming in from stairs, hallways, parking, etc. You can do better at that price.

I enjoyed my stay here, but it wasn't anything nice about it other than it being across the street from the beach. I paid $391 for a terrace room that overlooked the garage... It was pointless I would rather save my money and go elsewhere

We spend a weekend in Santa Barbara to attend a huge family wedding.

Liked the photos of the hotel on orbitz at first' however upon arrival was disappointed at the size of the room and the hotel clerk was not helpful in trying to upgrade. She also was. Not very informative about addition local activities

Great location and beach. Very old look and feel, needs updating. They didn't have our room ready so we had to wait an hour.

Hyatt was over priced for what it offered. The rooms are old and the service was not accommodating. It took forever to get checked in.

This place needs an update that includes new furniture in guest rooms. Very pleasant staff. Great view and location.

The hotel looked charming, location good and staff very helpful and lovely, HOWEVER the first room we were placed in was awful! The horrible, musty smell encompassed the whole room. I thought with air conditioner on for the night it might clear so we went to sleep as we arrived late, but in morning I woke with asthma flared, totally congested. Smell horrible. We moved rooms to another building and it was perfect. But the first room we were told was probably getting odor from the BIRD REFUGE at the zoo just down the road! Gross!! And no discount provided back for this either.

Temperature of the room was not comfortable. Air conditioning unit didn't seem to work properly. Felt very sticky all night. The bathroom fan didn't work which may have worsened the problem. Bathroom and vanity area didn't feel clean. Hotel restaurant seemed very overpriced. Bed was comfortable. Staff were very friendly.

The stay was wonderful because we did not expect too much from the hotel. It's clean and quite location makes the place enjoyable. I would highly recommend a renovation to the rooms since it felt outdated and somewhat dirty.

rooms are not that great; old furniture; no facilities on the beach itself

The hotel is in a great location. The beach is across the street, and easily accessible. Downtown is about 2 miles away, and easy to get to. Lots of public parking available. The hotel is old and probably needs some additional updating. The furniture in the rooms is starting to look a little shabby and their bath towels could definitely use updating. They are getting a little thin. For a hotel like the Hyatt, I would expect a little better quality. Also, they do not offer any pay per view movies in room. That was disappointing. Not that we wanted to watch a bunch of movies, just got in kind of early one night, and was looking for something else to watch.

Only stayed one night so it did the job. We were given a room right over the pool chlorine machine which made noise all night. Although I complained four times, nothing was done to remediate the situation. Hotel was decent but a little run down. Great happy hour at the bar area.

Demi provided us with excellent service and a warm welcome to Santa Barbara. Beautiful room, and the hotel is in a great location.

We were disappointed. Pictures look much better than the real thing. Air conditioning units for the other rooms are so loud and they keep turning off and on all day/night. We had our dog with us and he kept licking the floor so obviously some food was dropped on the floor and not properly cleaned. Their website promised a doggie bed, stainless steel bowls and doggie biscuits but we got none of that with the $50 pet fee.

The Hyatt Santa Barbara is in the middle of a remodel. The portion of the hotel that we stayed in has not yet been re-done and is shabby. Carpets are old, everything about the rooms feels, well, in need of an upgrade. The hotel did not meet my expectations based on stays at Hyatt's around the country. I cannot say anything about the portion of hotel that has been completed, as I was not in it. If I were to stay there again soon, I'd ask to stay in new section, and also be aware of the construction going on. The location is good, east of the bustle of State street and on the ocean. Everything is expensive in SB, but I couldn't help wondering whether the rooms would have been just as nice in one of the many surrounding hotels who advertise in the range of $100 cheaper per night.

The prime location initially is quite appealing, but this is one of the most mediocre Hyatts. The rooms are spread across various buildings. Our room did not even have a view, but it was nearby the beach. Room was fairly clean, but it was necessarily a 5-star experience. IMO, too expensive for a 2.5 star experience. Worst part was the hot tub jacuzzi had a dissolved, used tampon which we had to have employees clean. It was apparent that was in there for over a a couple hours, so wish that could've been taken care of earlier.
