Great location. Wish they had A/C and more essential items (tooth brush, asprin, etc...) to purchase at the front desk area.
i was very diappointed about everything! i said it all
Beautiful location, relaxing environment. Two pools, we used both. We also loved having access to the free beach cruisers. You will need to rent kids bike at near by bike rental. Excellent, tasty breakfast, included fresh fruit salad and gluten free options. The only issue was no air conditioning- which we learned is common in Santa Barbara- opening the windows and fans helped. YES, we would stay there again, it was hard to leave. 2 adults, 1 college student and one tween.
Bathrooms are absolutely disgusting. Hotel was definitely overpriced. Continental breakfast was decent.
Had a plumbing issue with the room and had to be moved to another room and nothing was done about the huge inconvenience of having to move our things to the relocated spot. I'm permanently disabled and need help to get around. Also the rooms don't have any Air conditioning. The biggest inconvenience at this hotel is that they charge you to park in their handicap parking each night.
Hotel has several properties on the beach. Very good location. Incident happened and I was very disappointed the way it was handled by hotel staff and manager.I had to call police myself and feel unsafe there. They don't have cameras on all properties, no securities. Homeless and strangers can come and knock on your door. I would like to write separate report to Orbits about incident.
Very nice staff. No a/c.egich we didn't know. Hit:cold water in shower didn't work
The staff were all friendly and very helpful. Wine tasting upon arrival very thoughtful. The continental breakfast included , more than sufficient with great help and tasty fresh fruit. My favorite was the strawberry poppyseed muffin. I also enjoyed the full size shampoo, conditioner and body wash definitely beats the usual little bottles. My husband and I also enjoyed riding the bikes about town included in resort fee. Thank you to all the lovely staff.
We chose this hotel because it was across the street from the beach. Enjoyed our stay celebrating 40th wedding anniversary. All the hotel staff was very friendly. We took the Amtrak to experience the adventure and not have to drive. We walked from the train station to the hotel and back to the train. We walked everywhere we wanted to, along the beach for miles, the piers, to museums, to restaurants and took the 50 cents bus ride up and down State Street to shop. Used the exercise facility, used the free bikes to ride along the beach. Took Uber to/from the massage parlor 15 minute ride. Enjoyed the free breakfast and really didn't miss not having pancakes or waffles, too heavy on the stomach anyway. The continental breakfast had a wide arrangement of food/drinks. Just a great 4 day 3 night stay. Only complaint, the water pressure in the shower was low OR the shower head needed to be replaced. No big deal though. I mentioned this to the desk clerk when we checked out. We would definitely stay at The Milo Hotel on our next visit to SB.
We are sorry we stayed here. We love Santa Barbara, but this visit was marred by choosing this hotel. Some effort was made, it looked like at remodeling some parts, however, a cheap and incomplete job was done. Our room was clean, but the bathroom was inadequate for what level of quality the hotel advertises. The newly installed shower was a one piece fiberglass unit with a shower curtain. And the shower hooks would not stay hooked, so the curtain pulled off easily. The whole bathroom was painted white with white fixtures, white towels, white everything with no decor whatsoever. Our bed was not comfortable and the pillows were so hard, my neck hurt. and we were told we had been upgraded to this room! Now, I have stayed in less than modern and quaint rooms that were just fine , so lest you think I'm being ultra picky, this wasn't even close to quaint. I don't mind paying a premium price for a nice room in a popular location, but do object to a hotel in a great location charging a high fee just because it's a great location without following through with a nicely appointed room & amenities. This hotel's exterior wasn't kept up either. It needed someone to sweep debris off the walkways & trim the hedges & plants. The included breakfast was ok - nothing special & completely self-serve. To add insult to injury, there was only valet parking to the tune of $30 per night. Ugh - never again here!
Our experience in the area was a lot of fun and beautiful , The view out of our room was spectacular . The room was clean and the staff was excellent
The hotel was nice . Pros : Great location Great staff, allowed early check in Comfortable spacious room Cons: Breakfast was terrible. Stale bagels Horrible coffee. Our room was in a second bldg across an alley. Was a bit unnerving as we two ladies traveling alone and we had go across the alley and down a small walk way to our room. We were afraid to go out after dark. There was a lot of construction going on. We has to cross the alley that had 4-6 inches of water flowing to get to breakfast.
The room we got was comfortable. The staff was super friendly. The hotel offers vallet parking.
Location was great, close to beach. The only real issue that was dispiriting was the 30.00 valet charge per night to park at the hotel. While booking room I could not recall this being explained as part of the deal. We ended up parking on the street behind the hotel. Not ideal, but we saved the 30.00.
Great location . Beautiful grounds. Friendly staff. Will book again next time we n SB.
My boyfriend and I took a trip from Chicago to California in June of this year. We started in Los Angeles and drove along the coastline. We spent three days in Santa Barbara and what a beautiful place to be. Although it wasn't as warm as we'd anticipated (lack of research for warmest weather on our part), it was sunny the entire time and the beaches were clean and gorgeous. Hotel Milo is RIGHT across the street. I read that online but figures that there would be a bit of a walk to reach it, that was not the case. Walk out of your door, cross the street and you'll run right into beautiful beaches. The rooms are very small and could use some updates but they were clean and the beds were comfortable. There were little sugar ants (or something similar) in the bathroom but if you've been to tropical/beach areas enough, you'll know that this is pretty common. I brushed them away and continued about my business! :) My favorite part of the trip was the fact the hotel had bikes for our use whenever we wanted them. I do believe there was a two hour time limit but the area is small. It's more than enough time to ride up the hill and catch a bird's eye view of the town. Highly recommend this! We also took the bikes into town for lunches... 10 minute bike ride and 20 minute walk. East to find and I felt more than safe walking around even at night. Great trip. I would go back in a heartbeat. Location cannot be beat.
It was the perfect one-night get-away. Beautiful room!
Pretty nice place did expect a patio and did not expect paying 16.00 Dollars a day extra for parking in the hotel !!!
This hotel is located in the perfect spot. Easy to walk to the tasting rooms around Anacapa. Right across the street from the beach. We love staying here.
Very charming hotel in excellent location. Right across the street from a beach and the Wharf, a block away from 15 wine tasting rooms which is great because you don't have to worry about driving. Can walk into town and I recommend you do. They give you a free bicycle rental included in your stay and a nice breakfast. The only negatives for me are there is no air conditioning in the rooms ( they do have an overhead fan and a stand alone fan) and it was just too hot in the room even with the windows open, and the room was on the small side and so was the bathroom. I really did like this smallish hotel other than the no air conditioning on an 80 degree day with No wind which wasn't great.
