The best part of this place is that the room is well done, but with a very big missing link to the upgrade. The window and door are still the old 1960s motel wall, and are paper thin, and noisy as it could be. People walking outside, carts, and luggage sound like it's going by right next to your bed. They should change that wall completely. As has been mentioned, the breakfast is terrible. Cold cereal, coffee, and eggo waffles and english muffins. Pretty sad at the price you have to pay.
200% work in progress. Room was adequate. Property grounds need improvement. Continental breakfast offerings leave alot to be desired. Greatest area of opportunity is the staff. Arrived at front desk at 1230p. Staff appeared.NOT to be able to be helpful or friendly. I was told.i.could not be assisted until after 230p. I felt I had to ask several times if I could leave my luggage with the front desk staff because I had to leave for a meeting. Price point is good for value recieved, but would have to reconsider if they were to raise their rates and the service level did not improve. If the hospitality spirit and friendliness were to improve, the hotel would increase in my personal rankings.
We stayed here to be near airport for a morning departure and to be half way between San Francisco and Pacifica and Half Moon Bay. Good location for our needs - didn't expect more as far as things to do and busy traffic location. Room was renovated which was nice but rest of property was very dated. Had laundry facilities which was needed with daily hiking. No frills place but suited our location needs. Good price value on Orbitz.
First of all let me say the staff was incredibly pleasant, the sheets and towels were clean and that's all for the pros. I was just passing thru SF and luckily was only at this goat of a hotel for the night. My room was NOTHING like the internet picture. The furniture was old, the carpet-filthy and stained. The air freshener poured onto the carpet to cover the smell of body odor and smoke was so thick I had to leave my room door ajar for 3 hours to air it out. I definitely will not stay there again or recommend it to anyone.
I booked this hotel based on it's website as it looked very nice. We arrived and it was shockingly different. Apparently part of the hotel has been renovated and part of it has not. The outside of the hotel is honestly pretty scary looking. We were put in a room that had not been renovated and it was truly horrible. Old bed spreads, non-working lights, rusty stairwells, scratched up dresser with broken handle, etc. It was so late at night and as I'd been flying or driving all day, I just didn't have the energy to go complain. In the morning we went for the complimentary breakfast and it consisted of cereal, coffee, bread and waffles. No protein of any kind or fresh fruit. Tonight we complained and they moved us to a renovated room which is way, way nicer. It is completely different than the non-renovated rooms and I felt very comfortable staying there. Doesn't handle the breakfast but at least it was a decent room and they granted our request without question. It is near the San Francisco airport so there is noise from planes flying overhead at times. So, the old renovated rooms I would give a 1 star. The new ones I would give a 4 star. So, I'm giving 3 to even it out. I give their service a 3 because the breakfast is sub-par, but they gave us a new room when asked. My only other complaint is why did they put us in a non-renovated room in the first place? If they advertise renovated rooms that should be what they fill up first. Then, if they run out they should put you in the non-renovated rooms for a lesser price and letting you know what you're getting ahead of time.
For the prize we were paying, this is a fairly decent hotel. It has lots of free parking on site. Check in process was a breeze. The room was clean, bathroom was clean. Bed and pillows were comfortable. The AC was a bit loud but at least it works and kept the room cool. Wifi in the room was pretty good. The hotel offers free breakfast, the kitchen area is pretty big, lots of tables/chairs. Don't expect too much for the breakfast, this is no Hilton. But it offers the basis: milk, coffee, tea, orange juice, apple juice, cereal, pancakes, toasts and oatmeal. The location is good, close to the freeway and SFO. Overall, we had a good experience here and we would come back if we are ever in the area again.
The appearance of the property from the outside should not fool you for the surprise inside. The property seems to be going through renovations. The interior seems to be grasping the the contemporary design of many franchise hotels. Overall, not bad for a nights, stay with the rooms I had.
The hotel has the signs of an old hotel however, the rooms have recently been updated. Although the bathrooms did not look as recently updated. The rooms were nice and I had no issues. It was a Saturday night so of course the drunkards woke me up around 3 am. My room was position right at the top of the stairs so I could hear everyone come up.
I booked a three night stay here with my family. During the booking process, there options were deluxe or deluxe (newly remodeled) rooms. Knowing that this place is pretty low rated, I opted in for the newly remodeled deluxe room for the higher price. When I arrived, they said my booking was for a standard and not the newly remodeled. I can opt in for a newly remodeled for an upgrade fee. Needless to say I was not happy after traveling 2000 miles. I was able to produce a hard copy and electronic copy of the confirmation that clearly indicate my booking was for a newly remodeled room. Knowing I may sound a bit agitated at the time, they gave me the newly remodeled room but I feel they gave me a standard room but told me it was the remodel room to make me go away. I'm not much to make a scene so this is why this review is up. Pictures of the room posting below so you can make your own assumption if this qualify as a newly remodeled. I hope this review helps other make more informed decisions.
Even though I had a reservation, when I arrived 15 minutes before 3 pm. the Manager told me to go sit down and I would be called when the rooms were ready. I had two broken bones in my foot, so sitting was necessary. By 3 pm several people had formed a line (where I had been standing), and at 3 pm the same Manager started calling people from the line completely disregarding me. When I reminded her that she Told me to sit down and I would be called, and now she is helping people who arrived after I did, she said to sit down and I will be taken care of. Another clerk started working shortly after 3 pm. and she helped me and was very pleasant.
