I hated the bed and their pillows. I had bad neck and back pain all day. The mattress are hard as a rock. The rooms need to be updated. The doors won't close make the balcony door won't open all the way. The staff was nice they try to accommodate you but there not much they can do ... the swichted my room but it was same terrible experience. We decided to just deal with it and next time spend more money and pick a better hotel.

The manglar makes the hotel smells bad horrible it looks nice and fancy but is not I would give it a 2 1/2 out of 5

The hotel staff stole $100 from my room the manager deny my money back hotel does not have camera so if something happen to u ur pretty much on ur own

The staff was ok, the room was in bad shape! I saw mold and the walls where not clean. Outside when it rained it smelled like sewage! The food was average, in the snake bar they never changed the food so always the same thing.

The staff was unable to fix the AC that was not working.

Tropical princess beach resort and spa everything good views, beach, food, drinks, animation but the rooms needs improvement, new decoration , tvs, bathroom , new sheets and queen size beds

This was my third time at this hotel & I had a pleasant time. The staff is very nice and try their best to accommodate you & resolve any issues that you might have. I always eat at the buffet & there is a great variety of foods, there is always something to eat for everyone, therefore, I don't understand when some people complain & say the food at the buffet is terrible. I cannot speak for the other restaurants at night, because I haven't tried any. The entertainment staff is great, they have different activities during the day for all ages, the night shows are nice as well. Overall, the hotel needs some rooms' repairs, but as I said, the employees work very hard to address & resolve any issues. It's a decent hotel/ good deal for the price you pay. I had a great time there and I'll definitely go back next year. A big THANK YOU to Mr. Conejo at the buffet & Ms. Desirée for their excellent customer service skills, they really care about making every tourist feel welcome!

The hotel was great. The people in charge of the restaurants is great, very kind people and they are always smiling. The food was great.

Experience was unpleasant immediately after walking to the lobby to check in. If you have a pale complexion and don't speak Spanish you are basically ignored. Guests that arrived well after us were checked in within minutes. It took over 45 minutes for my family to get checked in. And that was only after I had to almost make a scene. The rooms are very run down and outdated. The wood furniture was beat up and the TV didn't work at all. Satellite TV? NO TV! The sinks were backing up and the bathrooms smelled like sewage. If you like hot showers you're out of luck. Cold is the only temperature they offer. The shower tiles had mold buildup and the corner stripping was hanging off. The bed sheets were tattered and had holes in them. The blankets were old wool material that I've seen farmers use to cover their horses with. I'm a very basic person and by no means a snob. But I've been at Motel 6s that were cleaner. If I'm going to pay for resort I'm expecting resort quality. Luckily I booked the entire week of excursions so I only stayed at the resort to eat and sleep. Unfortunately I didn't sleep much because even though this classified as a family resort you had loud obnoxious drunkards partying till the sun came up. At least the food was decent. Do yourself a favor. Spend the extra $ and book somewhere else. Your family will thank you for it.

Room was old looking, bed sheets blah but cleaning person did provide better sheets after I left her a note not front staff...employees for the most part were great...food sucked though especially when it came to themed and not too many choices when u didn't like something...boring for kids, fun for singles...animation group interacted well...

This hotel does not provide you with wash clothes nor towels, there's no Wifi at the hotel other than the front entrance and that's every so often if it works. They don't greet you, no out water to bathe. The food was horrible, I ate fruits to survive. It was either over or under cooked. They served French fries and Frank's for lunch every day, not good for a healthy eater. The drinks taste like pure syrup, no buzz at all. The fitness center is very small with no updated machines. I will never go back!!!! N

The hotel is clean. Average service and food and beverage. We had 3 rooms, some good some rundown. Had problems with air conditions. The hotel was not able to move us. They claimed sold-out. But in essence a good value stay..

It was a great vacation except for getting sick since you cannot drink the water. The water in your hotel room is not Potable. Great staff and the food was pretty good. I would return to this location.

Great vacation. .some staff can be a hit and miss but overall everything was great

The property is beautiful. The food and the staff are average. The rooms are terrible and so out dated.

My stay at this hotel was very disappointing. I was not pleased where I was staying in, the room I was given smelled, blankets were stained, bathroom had molds on the walls and the phone had an awful smell to it also. I was so afraid to even walk around because it was just so dirty. We arrived there very well we were greeted finely however the rooms were awful. They were times that we had to ask for towels continuously smh. Never again I will stay and visit this place.

We arrived at 245-3pm to check in but the room wasn't ready until 5pm. Then we had to wait another half hour for our bags to get to the room (I wish we just took it with us instead). The resort grounds were beautiful and were identical to the pictures! However, the shopping and room was severely lacking in expectations. First, the marketplace is just a convenience store and not actually a place to do souvenir shopping (unless all you need is a postcard and/or t-shirts). They had another store which offered brand named items, but I don't know how outdated or value worthy they were. Second, the best description I could come up with for the room is cheap motel. The villa that we stayed in reminded me of a shady apartment complex almost in the ghettos. The door to the room was rickety and just plain thin wood with gaps between the door and frame. I'm 90 pounds and would have no trouble knocking it down. Did not feel at all safe. Speaking of safe... the one that came with the room was missing the lock. The closet was missing a door handle and only housed one clothes hanger. The soda in the mini fridge was dated 2011 (it is mid 2015 right now) and there was a Zenith tube TV on the dresser. The drapes for the glass sliding door to the balcony had a few stains and tiny holes in it. There was junk in the tub drain and on the faucet... it made me cringe to take a shower. Oh, there were rust stains in the toilet too. The food at the buffet was good but not great and the lines (if you could call it that) reminded me of a free-for-all where it seemed like they wouldn't replenish the empty dishes. They DID replenish the empty dishes but by the behavior of the other guests, you would think not. What upset me the most was that there were 2 double beds instead of a King. It may have been my fault but the reservation didn't allow me to specify which I wanted (it was just listed as 2 double beds or 1 king). I called guest services with my gripe (they specifically told me to call that particular extension for English speaking) and they said they'd call me back in 10 minutes. After 20 minutes, I called them again and they stopped answering that line for the night. I then called the front desk and they told me they'd work on it first thing tomorrow. So the hubby and I made do with sleeping on just one of the beds. Nothing happened regarding this the next day and we smushed onto the same bed again (he's a big guy). On the day of checkout (after the second night) we got a call saying we missed the appointment with the representative at 9am the day before and if we could meet with them at 9am that day instead. I told them we'd be checking out already because I wanted to get some actual shopping done before we left the country.

great experience! The service was amazing, I do not know how this is rated a 3 star hotel. Food and staff were beyond great!

Hotel meet all my expectations. and i will recommend to all my friends. i will also try to book it in my next vacation if the price is right.

I speak English and there were very few people on the hotel staff that speaks English. These are vacation spots where every culture would visit so I would think that they would hire a diverse staff.

Dear Djenane. We really appreciate the gesture of letting us know about your holiday but more about this uncommon situation that you unfortunately faced in our premises. Certainly we believe that safety and satisfaction are our top priority that is why we provide an unbeatable ambiance of quietness, peacefulness but more important of safety. However, as you may understand, the belongings outside the safety box are under your own responsibility as we, regrettably, are not able to look after of all these issues. We recommend the use of the safety deposit box inside the rooms precisely to keep valuable things under your own protection as you are responsible of making up your own code. This important recommendation is remarked upon check-in, and it is pointed out that the Hotel is not responsible for any loss outside the safety deposit box. In addition to this, we can not make any false accusations in any direction if we do not have any evidential proof. We extend our most sincere apologies for this uncommon situation but without having any evidence, we cannot assume any responsibility much less considering that your lost was outside the box and where we consider is the client itself, who has to be responsible of his personal belongings. Honestly, Federico Espinal General Manager Tropical Princess.
