Excellent all inclusive resort, breathtaking....we had an unforgettable experience. Everything in general about this resort was amazing, including staff. The beach very clean and beautiful, white sand and turquoise water. Would absolutely recommend. Can’t wait to come back soon.
The resort is beautiful, like a jungle. I loved how the units were set up in a number of individual two story buildings so it was quiet and private. The beach was gorgeous and immaculately kept. The wholite sand is powder soft. It is an older resort, but I loved it being unpretentious and the vibe was very laid back and welcoming. The entertainment was great and a lot of the performers/dancers also worked at the resort in the kids zone and daily fitness activities. The kids zone staff, Kathy, Jack, Laurena, and everyone else were wonderful with my kids. The activities, music and dancing staff were so fun. Some of the servers were not great at their jobs, but a few were amazing like Wirdy Fransua. His warm smile was wonderful and he was so attentive in the dining areas. We preferred the buffets to the sit down restaurants. The variety and all the fruits and vegetables were so great. The soups and stewed meats were always delicious. My older son loved the fried rice station and the pasta station. We were there for two weeks and can’t wait to go back again. It was better than we could’ve imagined. I didn’t want to leave!
The property is 24 years old, so it's not as well maintained as it could have been. The staff is friendly, but there weren't enough to keep the different restaurants open or to be accommodating. Reservations were hard to make on the day of, and would need to reserve 2 days in advance in order to have any chance of getting a dinner reservation. The pools and activities were great.

There was nothing unique about the property. The food is average, the coffee was bad. The rooms can use some updating.

It was ok... I’ll honestly never go back though. One staff member in particular was incredibly rude to me, but most were friendly. There was definitely a language barrier so if you speak Spanish that will help. We got in pretty late, and the ladies at reception didn’t let us know that concierge helps with reservations at restaurants. When we found out, we made reservations with them and the scheduled us a reservation for a restaurant that wasn’t even open (ummm shouldn’t they know the resort schedule?!!) we got there for our dinner and the place was empty! The beach was really nice, but if you don’t pay for the upgrade, you’re relegated to the far corner and are not allowed to use the cabanas (even if they’re completely empty) The buffet restaurant is where we ate most of our meals. It was ok, but it got boring after awhile. Also, bring your own sunscreen!!! We forgot and these jerks were charging $40 per bottle! And they were tiny bottles! Immediately outside of the resort it’s a very sketchy area... we didn’t feel safe leaving the resort so we didn’t. I’ve traveled the world with my family and so has my fiancé and we both agreed this was the worst place we had been. I was so excited about this vacation because it was our babymoon, and I wanted to love it, but it just wasn’t that good. DR is permanently marked off my list for a vacation spot. My advice? Go to Costa Rica ❤️ I’ve been there a few times in different parts of the country and it’s always amazing...
The rooms are old and need renovation. Many things such as the shower and bathtub need to be updated and the water system as well. The food is good but not great. This is supposed to be a 5-star hotel and feels like a 3/3.5 star hotel. Many things don't work and our expectations were much higher.
