Nice and attentive staff
When i get to the hotel, the receptionist was a new staff which is understandable but the rudeness was unacceptable. I requested for the manager who came out with attitude and started yelling.
The property was not in repair. Peeling paint from the ceiling. Chipping paint all over the property. The pool was clean. The staff looked exhausted. The cleaning staff in the hallways were the most friendly and helpful.
It was alright. Staff at the front desk was either very nice or kinda rude. They were very rude to me when I asked for change for the washing machine. If you're going to have a washer/dryer that takes quarters, I think asking for change is at least a reasonable request. Cleaning staff were all very nice. If you're looking for a budget hotel, I'd look elsewhere..

Very convenient as it is near Hobby Airport. Location and premises served its purpose.
Stayed at La Quinta on basis of friend's recommendation and relatively good value for the cost. They emphasis smoke-free, and it was a very clean room, but maybe all hotel rooms smell a little bit off. Staff were friendly and helpful. No surprizes with checkin or hidden costs. The continental breakfast is simply but adequate. Coffee was weak, but maybe that is a local trend. Breakfast dining room is small, so eat early on busy weekends.
The hotel has nice size suites and ample parking. The free breakfast is pretty good. The price is reasonable. A few disappointing aspects: (1) Our initial room had a bed with a mattress that was clearly broken - perhaps from kids jumping on it - not sure. But it was very uncomfortable so I requested we be moved to a new room. The staff showed little interest in my report of a broken mattress, but did move us to a new room. (2) The new room had a ghastly odor - as if someone had spilled pickle juice on the carpet - very pungent. That was zero for two in terms of room comfort. (3) The whole building is poorly constructed with sloping and uneven floors in the hallways and rooms. It's the Houston area, so maybe the foundation has settled. (4) Despite being a non-smoking hotel, we frequently could smell cigarette smoke in the hallway, which we reported to the staff at the front desk. Despite these disappointments, the property is kept neat and clean and the location is very convenient in terms of access to the beltway (route 8) and nearby shops and restaurants.
Nice and Clean. If you are considering the area, it's a very comfortable place.
We slept good. Great location.great food in the area always comfortable. We will be back.
First room had damp carpet from an A/C leak. Second room had musty smell. Third room fine. Man on duty did his best to take care of us, giving another room without hesitation.
Our room had a very musty odor. When we got into the room a bug landed on my arm. Assuming it came in from the outdoors with us we stayed in the room. I later found a spider in the bathroom. After our wakeup call in the morning a bug crawled out of the phone. There was even a fly at the continenetal breakfast. Yech!
Nice place. I would stay again.
