I was unexpectedly charged an additional US $40 even though I had already paid for my full trip back in June. This really shocked me and seriously affected my budget for the four days I spent in NYC. The room wasn’t very clean — the floor and under the bed had visible dirt. However, the staff were very pleasant, especially the security team. I also reported that the safe wasn’t working; the front desk said maintenance would check it, but no one ever came. Thankfully, the room’s key lock system felt secure, so I still felt safe staying there. The bathrooms are shared, and while some were messy at times, it seemed to be because of inconsiderate guests. The cleaning staff were constantly working to keep them tidy. The facilities themselves are good. I’d recommend bringing disinfectant spray and wipes — I brought mine and used them in the room and before/after using the bathrooms and showers. Overall, I gave a low rating mainly because of the unexpected US $40 charge.

Bathroom showers had issues. Not a fancy place at all. However, we were in NYC to explore NYC. Getting a cheaper room let us explore NYC more. Not a place to stay if you want to hang out in your room. Close to central park and a subway station. They have a fresh fruit vendor a block away onnthe xorner. Loved that place!!

It was like a scary jail. My floor smelled like butt. The service was okay, the cleaning lady was kind and check in was smooth, check out and luggage storage was rude and weird.

They do a great service by providing budget accommodation in NY. Staff was super helpful and responsive to my requests. Convenient location, safe area. A previous review mentioned the $10 daily fee that should have been added up front. They said they’d notified their partners so maybe an oversight by Expedia. The mini store in the pics is not there but plenty of places within a block to buy things.

The rooms are small but we didn't need much room since we were only there to sleep, change, and shower. So didn't mind sharing bathrooms with others, either. The floors could've been cleaner cuz there was hair on the floors, but other than that I would definitely stay there again if I ever go to new york again. Everything is so close by!! Central Park, Time Square, shopping and a variety of food carts to choose from!! The location is excellent, and so is the price!!

The staff were not polite. Gave keys with the wrong room number. Called security to throw a guest out even when the guest was right. Poor etiquette. Worst customer service. They don't care if you're a first-time visitor. They have a subtle charge they call "MEMBERSHIP". It's stated on the site that it was a HOTEL. Only to find out, it's a HOSTEL. If you MUST visit this place, brace yourself! The hallway had a funny odor.

A spot for brave souls on the budget

A spot for brave souls on the budget. The bed was ok, the floor is dirty. 3 showers for the whole floor… the smell in the room was weird, the room size ok. You would want to come there as late as possible and leave as early as you can to enjoy the city or what you are for in NY. There might be better budget options out there…
