We ended up in an unfinished suite. Missing the basics.
Nice sized room, pleasant staff and over all nice place to stay. Only drawback was the $28 a day resort fee charged. Was nicer when hotels didn't add such a fee for items not always utilized.
This was my 4th trip to NYC to attend meetings at the UNHQ. I Find this place to be the most convinient . The staff were friendly , the rooms were always kept clean and the i didn't have to go far to walk into a dining place.
Will not go to that hotel, extra resort fee? For what, it is not a resort.
Hotel was in a great location and had a good vibe. Walkable to many restaurants, retail, sites, etc. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms very small, but this is New York!
Check in and out was a simple easy process. The hotel smells delicious in the lobby from the restaurant, but it smells like feet in the hallways near the room. The bathroom in the room is nice and modern and comfortably arranged. However, the main living area with the bed could use some slight rearranging. The bed is quite comfortable but there is no space to walk in front of it. Fortunately, we are not large individuals, I'd imagine if you are large you would have to roll over the bed to reach the other side. The placement of the coat rack right in front of the bed makes it nearly impossible to walk across the room without contorting your body. There is also the risk of running into the tv once you reach the other side. I realize it's NY and space is tight, but this is a ridiculous set up.
The Redbury is a very hip, stylish hotel. A good location- walking distance to Madison Sq Garden and there is a train station within 3 blocks. The hotel itself is quite old, you can tell it has been refurbished. However, they have done a wonderful job making it hip and stylish. Our room, though incredibly tiny, even by NYC standards (I've stayed in NYC several times & this is by far the smallest room I've ever experienced- it fit a queen bed and two night stands, literally a tiny box), was well appointed with Ciel toiletries, a bathrobe, mini bar, and modern decor. We could see the Empire State Building right outside our window. However simply because of the size of the room, I would not stay here again. If you are traveling solo this might work for you.
Not liking the extra fees for devices you normally get for free.
This hotel was in a great location. It was really easy to get around town from here. The subway stops were close by and super easy to grab a taxi, uber or just walking around. The hotel staff was really nice and the restaurant there was good for breakfast. Their restaurant Marta is nice but was always busy. I'm not into Italian food but I'm sure it might be good. The room itself was I the small side. I'm from LA so I wasn't use to a small room. But it was fine for 1 person since I was traveling alone. The AC was a window unit that was really loud. It never fully got cold in the room. It might has been a faulty AC but it wasn't unbearable. It was just hard to sleep with that noise going on all night. Overall, I liked the hotel, location and service. I would stay at this hotel again.
