My sons first trip to New York City…he got a dose of NY inhospitable service. Coming from the Midwest you think of the HGI as a better quality experience but the service here by the staff was less than ideal.

I loved that the hotel was walking distance from Timesquare, Empire State and Central Park. The metro was right outside the door and the there was a lot of options for dining. Property was clean and the staff was very friendly. I loved our stay there and would definitely book again.

Great!

Good location. Quiet. Needs some tlc.

clean convientent central location

Everything was great

Property staff were very kind and helpful. Our room was clean. There was some mold in the shower. Close proximity to Broadway, Times Square and Bryant Park.

Clean! Great staff! The hotel is close to everything!

only thing was really a problem is: Elevators. Card system and waiting time. When checking out, we waited for 10 minutes, then needed to use stairs. Everything else was great, thank you.

Good hotel but to noisy

I read that it has “laundry facilities” which was a deciding factor in choosing the hotel. We brought clothes good for four days on a nine-day trip. It was a major shock and disappointment that a laundry facility for guests to wash clothes is non-existent. Nevertheless we got good value for what we paid because it is in the heart of the city. Don’t expect a fancy hotel. The room is pretty straightforward and tight, good for travelers who are on the go to see the sights all day. Kudos to Janis, Gerry, and Monica at the front desk who are friendly and helpful. The one who moved us to another room after about five days was out to give us a hard time. Instead of checking us in the new room immediately at 9:00 am, she wanted us to wait until 3:00 pm to get the new room. I told her Monica said that we could move in to the new room right away, she relented and allowed it. The best person we met and went out of his way to help us was the one who was in charge of the luggage room in the lobby when we checked out at 1:00 pm on Nov 12, 2021. He is kind, patient, and very considerate in a natural way. He did not play a part like most people in the hospitality business do. I asked his name but I am forgetful, He impressed us so much and he did not rush my sister who was wearing crutches.

That everything was in walking distance

The hotel has a great location, near Madison Square Garden, Macy's and the Empire State Building, as well as the Herald Square subway line. Very convenient, friendly and helpful staff, and a nice hotel.

Excellent experience!

Great location, friendly staff and clean rooms. Would definitely stay again.

New hotel

Great location. Friendly staff. Only strange thing was that although the room was cleaned every night the crew never made our beds. Never have run into this before at a hotel unless the crew asked not to make up the room. Otherwise a satisfactory stay

Convenient

Awesome stay and in the middle of everything. We walked everywhere, time square is about a 5 min walk and Around the corner from the Empire State building.

Close to everything. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. We arrived early but we had our room right away. Checked us in in a breeze and without any hassles. The rooms are bigger than I thought knowing New York.
