The hotel listing is extremely misleading: 1) Breakfast: A free continental breakfast is not offered. Instead, you are provided with coupons that can be redeemed in the hotel coffee shop in the lobby. The selection is extremely limited (black coffee, tea, simple bagel with cream cheese or a plain or chocolate croissant). Nothing that resembles a continental breakfast. 2) Bed size: while we booked a room with a queen bed, the room we got had a full/double bed (we measured with a ruler - it was not 60 inch but closer to 54 inch). We asked to switch rooms but the new room also had a bed that wasn't a queen bed. 3) No free wifi: While the listing mentions free wifi, the hotel lists wifi as one of the reasons for charging an extra "Urban fee". So either the wifi is free and the urban fee is just a cash grab or the wifi isn't actually free. 4) There was no fridge in our room when we checked it. It was added on our third day (Without us asking). 5) No upgrades: Despite our Expedia status, we were not offered any upgrades and when asked about such upgrades were told that non are available (not even a water bottle). 6) Check-in: Process was very slow, including due to the fact that the receptionist had to fill out the breakfast coupons by hand for our entire stay (20 coupons in total).

Overall a noce hotel. Lost a 5 star review because there was no shampoo in the room and they said they would send some up right away but it did not arrive They called later after we had taken showers.

It didn't feel 4 star. It was more like a 3 or 2 going based off my room. The restaurant and cafe downstairs definitely helped to elevate the experience. The room is by far average. Staff was friendly, and the location is perfect for what we needed. We wanted to be off Broadway and near central park, so this was perfect for us.

We had a great one night stay at the ArtHouse. We appreciated the staff’s effort to get us two rooms across the hall from each other (perfect for our family of four). Rooms were decent size for NY and lobby was cozy and welcoming.

Room clean. Plenty of towels, toiletries, etc. Staff was very pleasant. Loved the availability of food and coffee from the bar. Would've preferred a room with a view, but not sure if I might've needed to pay extra for that. I would like to have had a microwave and refrigerator. I guess we could've requested the latter, but we didn't bother. I understand these things tend to be more prevalent in budget hotels, and not so much in higher-end properties. We are only from Brooklyn, so this was kind of a staycation, but we would do it again. Perhaps next time after one of the many concerts we attend at the Beacon Theatre.
